@madhu beautiful analysis.
@suchi
i want shlok's protective behavior towards aastha to continue but at the same time i want him to be really angry at her for leaving him 😃. don't want a mellow shlok. at the same time don't want a shlok that tries to kill aastha either(like throwing her in a jungle pond🤢). either way would destroy his character.

i would really like to know what exactly happened in swathi's case to decide how selfish he is?he didn't betray aastha exactly but acted in a way that she would like and she fell for it inspite of knowing his mean behavior before. why did she fall for him? because she is equally attracted to him😛

You know Rekha, I would be disappointed if shlok was a perfect bf or husband to swati and her betrayal made him this way. I want his meanness to stem from the abusive environment that he was raised in, not because of one particular incident or person but a series of experiences in his life so far.

he sure is a product of his environment. whatever happened with swathi may have compounded his issues more.

remember the scene when he asks aastha to not pursue jyothi's case and complicate their lives? he does love his sister but he selfishly craves a love nest without a need to deal with problems around him. he is selfish in that sense.

So Rekha, you basically want Astha to grow up and not behave immaturely. She should try to understand his needs too and be dependable and not impulsive. Right and so you want him to be angry with her for taking a decision without thinking rationally about how could he do something to her father when he was constantly with her and believe him.
I agree I would love to see Astha growing up instead of sitting and feeding her dad like a 10 yr old she acts more maturely and thinks about her relation with Shlok and her parents. I am hoping she will start connecting the dots and about the reason for Shlok's behavior like she did at Kolhapur.
It would be beautiful if she tries to figure out his insecurities and helps him. That would show mature love and a strong foundation for a relationship. Like Shlok says he can read her, she should be able to read him completely.
May be he is waiting for that day and he will then completely open himself to her. The day when their hearts speak and no words are necessary.

Prasai, I like your POV. My thoughts are similar too. But one thing that did not fit the bill was the scene where Shook asks the temple for his Baba's lambi umar (long life). If he is really for unmasking his Baba's true face, then what could be the reasons for him praying for his Baba?

Title: ASHLOK: MU / ego / hatred raises its ugly head Ek Baar Phir
I am even more puzzled about this weird agni family than ever before.
Before I go any further, what's this anjali made of? Yes she is totally under hitler's control and can read his body language like the back of her hand. But that dont mean she can conveniently assume that astha knows about her FIL's BD. Not just that, she even goes a step further and blames astha bcoz NA was humiliated at the party? Ulta chor kotwal ko daante? ie guilty person accusing the innocent?
Okay so yest there was a demand of 2 gifts from hitler to anjali. One was delivered and the 2nd is perhaps having ashlok at his BD today.
Except cvs make sure that dont happen bcoz MU raises its ugly head and astha refuses to believe that shlok has nothing to do with her baba's arrest as she's reading the newspaper yest.
]
Shlok tried to convince her that he had nothing to do with baba's arrest.
Astha: One more lie. Your whole life is full of lies.
Astha: I just cant understand how I could fall for a liar like you?
I hate you and dont want to have anything to do with you any more.
Come today, and party is underway and abhay assures sojal that he has everything under control by having the guests humiliate hitler when baba learns on only shlok's return that astha is at her parents.
Ab kya tha? The robotic anjali "reads" abusive hubby's body language and shlok watches her walking up to the door to kirloskars and knows only too well that another showdown will happen at avdhoot's and will find out what astha is up to.
Next, to save hitler's face, anjali has already arranged the oath ceremony with holy water for astha. Take a pick, sasural or maika and wont even let kalindi interfere. Its between me and my bahu, says anjali to kalindi, you shut up (not verbally of course).
All faces shocked from ajju to avdhoot to kalindi to astha when she learns that today is the BD of wonderful helpful kindest FIL and the "sanskari" astha even lacks the common decency to thank ond baba who saved her baba from jail life.
Camera freezes when astha visibly refuses to agree to anjali's horrendous demand to practically choose between life and death and never to turn back and look at the "people" who live in this house.
The precap brings old shlok back bcoz his ego cant and wont accept the fact that astha hates him. Even in this arena, shlok demonstrates oneupmanship?
So like every day of the week, the w/e epi ends with a bang too for the viewers to count and wait for monday arrival with bated eyes as to how not just shlok but even astha takes the path of nafrat that so far only shlok was entitled to. Does that mean that aag ab dono taraf baraabar lagi huyi hai? Both love and hate each other simultaneously?
My 5c!

aastha needs to act maturely but being immature and stupid is not a crime. i don't think she deserves any bullshit shlok gave her. i don't find any fault with her acting like a child with her parents. who else would baby her? why should she not enjoy the pampering of her parents? she will mature eventually as life teaches lessons though you don't ask for it.

she could try and understand shlok and love him and support him but not right now. she has every right to be angry at him for trying to control her life. he should first accept that he is no god. he should eat the humble pie and accept that he "needs" aastha for him to be happy.

he would be angry with aastha because he has abandonment issues and a huge ego. he doesn't have a woman in his life that he looks up to. aastha needs to become a woman shlok would respect and not just someone who heals his wounds with her presence or someone he lusts after. until that happens their feelings for each other (whatever you name it) have no meaning.

madhu not only nice analysis
finally some one sees what shlok really is loved the way you showed why shlok is doing what he is doing --he still loves his dad but wants to change him

does that mean shlok really knows what his father is and this is shloks way of bringing out his dad --shlok still loves his dad but wants to do it in such a way so his dad can keep face---interesting lets see what happens

one thing is for sure liking shlok more

Beautiful analysis Madhu di,
Though I differ from your views on Shlok's character, I cannot deny that he has some positive qualities. Love your positivism as always.
