Folks,
What I liked today was that Jalal not only remembers The Shove, but he actually resents any closeness from Jodha's side. It angers him, whether at the tulsi puja or in the precap (though that is an illusion).He sees it as blow hot, blow cold behaviour from Jodha, and an extension of that night in her rooms.
This apart, everything else today was ridiculous: Jalal believing Benazir (I no longer even hope that he was pretending to do so), Jodha endlessly 'trying' to tell Jalal about Sharifuddin and searching for an avasar (why not barge into his rooms as per her standard practice of old?), Mirza Hakim making cow eyes at that pudding faced Shivani, and the staid Jodha having daylight nightmares about black outfitted assassins being after Jalal in the middle of the palace.
I am beginning to tire of Jodha Akbar, but for Rajat, I would follow my usual pattern with umpteen serials in the past and abandon it. I cannot remember a single one where I have stayed the course!
Sandhya, apart from the very neat comparison to the dementor's kiss (the effect of which is of course far worse than that of the KT's pedestrian snake poison), I was delighted by your comment about the tulsi plant. I felt exactly the same; I had earlier written about the mariyal plant she was inundating with a lotaful of water before the arati scene. I suspect that one had died of drowning, and this one is a substitute that hasn't yet met the same fate!😉
And yes, if the dementor had kissed the KT, it would have been stumped, for she has no soul for it to suck out of her body. Incidentally, she was very quick on the uptake and fended off Jalal's sharp queries very smoothly. She did not bat an eyelid.
Rajat was very good in that scene, especially the close ups where his eyes flicker sideways.
