Now coming to the issue. Honestly, the reason I started watching the show was because of the chemistry between Karan and Surbhi. I remember when the show was launched, I refrained from watching because I didn't have the time to devote to another show and nor did I want to. But then I saw gifs of Karan and Surbhi, or rather AsYa floating around on tumblr and I decided to give the show a chance.

Part of me disagrees with your assertion that AsYa won't suffer with Karan leaving. The chemistry between KaBhi is actually amazing. And I think it will definitely take some time for the chemistry between Surbhi and the new lead to develop and I don't know if QH has time enough for that. The show is already is a precarious situation. Mohit's entry and the engaging story line has kept the show afloat for now, but I don't know how long that can last.

Personally, although I started the show because of the chemistry between the leads, I gradually fell in love with the engaging story line and supporting actors. So the reason I'm planning on sticking around, is because of the storyline and actors. Time and time again I've been impressed by all the actors, whether it be Alka ji, Ketki, Shalini or Neha. And I think the story line is really great, but that's because I love how progressive Zoya is while keeping in tune with her religion. However, that's just me. I think the amount of people who watching solely for KaBhi chemistry and Karan is really high. Probably even higher than those who watch the show for the story line. And much higher than those who watch the show for the supporting actors. So if Karan leaves (which I think he will) and the next AAK isn't able to quickly adapt and fill in Karan's shoes and make chemistry with everyone, then I don't think the show will be able to continue for long.

And speaking of the next AAK, I like your opinion of having Iqbal Khan being a replacement. Like you said he's a strong actor and has the angry-guy act down. However, I worry that he might look too old next to Zoya and Dilshad. Karan, despite his age, has quite boyish looks and they really worked in his favour for creating chemistry with others. I really don't want Raqesh Vashist to take over either. I don't think he has the acting chops to pull it off. He doesn't look that good while angry LOL.

I guess what I'm trying to say, is that I think the survival of the show just depends on the actor who plays AAK next. Yes, all the other actors are great and there is an engaging storyline, but without a proper protagonist, it doesn't matter as much. Because at the end of the day, the leads make the show.

This is a long post so bear with me...

When I had started watching Qubool Hai I had never heard of Karan Singh Grover, Surbhi Jyoti, Rishabh Sinha and the whole motely crew, I watched Qubool Hai for the story and just so happened to fall in love with the characters so when AsYa's Nikah was called off multiple times I did not complain, when the villains where outsmarting the leads I still watched and when Zoya married Ayaan I tolerated it because I knew there would be something better along the line. Sadly after 300 episodes I am still waiting for Qubool Hai to deliver the magic that had been promised to us.

Karan Singh Grover, the male lead was hand picked by the producer Gul (if the rumors from the initial stages of QH is true) so for her to agree with Zee about his dismissal does not add up. As a fan of the show I will be disappointed with his departure and change in the character of Asad BUT as a person who sees both sides of the coin I frankly 'smell a rat'. Let me explain...

Firstly, KSG is the highest paid actor on TV, Zeetv had renewed his contract very recently and even bumped up his pay,so if I was the big shot at Zeetv and the if actor who's costing me the most money does not pitch up for work I would institute legal action against him because quite frankly I'll be wasting my money. So if Zee had been planning to fire KSG why renew his contract? surely their legal team would realise that he can counter sue on grounds of 'breach of contract by lieu of early termination' and with the rumors of unprofessionalism etc going around a further counter sue of 'character assassination' is a possibility.

Secondly, IF KSG is the male lead then why is the female lead (Surbhi Jyoti) burdened with the responsibility of promoting the show, she is a good actress and clearly the writers don't give her much to work with. Some say that KSG has been side lined to promote Surbhi but I honestly think that she can manage fine all on her own. If KSG is replaced I am not worried about the AsYa pairing at all because Surbhi has the acting chops and the ability to adapt to the situation and even if the result is not as grand as the old pairing it will be at least tolerable.

Thirdly, in my opinion the cast has not made any definitive or non contradictory statements about the issue not because they are afraid of the production house or because they are disloyal to KSG, but logically it will be unprofessional of them to take sides with out any concrete facts and join a camp based on 'hysterical hearsay' because nothing has been confirmed yet so why jump to conclusions? If I were the zee bosses I would make sure my highest paid actor earns every penny I pay him so naturally I would be very angry if he does not do the work but expects the money, I mean think about it...if KSG was really on sets why has Asad been reduced to guest star status? The zee bosses are not stupid, they will not pay such hefty fees to keep the show afloat and halt shooting for one man, so logically one can conclude that KSG was not on sets and thus the story had to be changed constantly to accommodate his absence hence Surbhi Jyoti, Shailini Kapoor Saagar, Nehalaxmi Iyer, Ketki Kadam, Alka Kaushal, Mohit Sehgal, Archana Taide and gang are getting more screen time simply because the show's hero was not there to pick up the slack and thus the burden fell to the Heroine and the supporting cast to keep the show afloat.

Fourthly, Karan Singh Grover is the highest paid actor on TV WITH AN EXCLUSIVITY FEE PAID TO HIM BY ZEETV, so logically if you are paying one person that much money to be on a show why would you side line him? If I was the person signing the pay check I would want maximum use out because I am footing a very expensive Bill for just one person and there is where I feel that Zeetv is justified in presenting their legal notice to KSG since it has been well established that he hasn't been on sets very often. Further if KSG had a movie role coming up then by simple existence of the EXCLUSIVITY FEE zeetv has grounds to issue him with a legal notice since he is violating their contract with him. Further KSG himself said in an interview that he is not leaving Qubool Hai so where did this idea of him going off to do a movie sprout from? when did the idea of removing KSG become 'something that was in the pipeline for a while'? because logically one would not pay and actor such a high amount, an exclusivity fee and then say 'oh we wanted to get rid of him all along'...it does not make sense.

Fifthly, the news of KSG's dismissal could not have come at a worse time, the story had finally progressed and the mystery about the doll factory is starting to unravel and I had been waiting for this mystery to be revealed for a while. So because of the dismissal the brilliant performances of Surbhi, Mohit, Alka Kaushal, Shailini Kapoor Sagar, Ketki Kadam etc are being overshadowed and thus they are not receiving the credit that they deserve.

Sixthly, some say that KSG is Asad Ahmed Khan, frankly I do not agree. KSG has not been Asad Ahmed Khan for a while, because the character has OCD and no person with OCD would let their hair grow that long and remain that unkempt so KSG has not been true to the character he has been playing, now some will say it was because of his upcoming movie but my reply to that is

'the EXCLUSIVITY FEE' which would logically tell us that no such movie exists otherwise why would it only have been revealed on the day that the news broke out about KSG's Dismissal? Rishab Sinha's movie offer was made public before he left, Vikrant Messy' s other commitments were aired before he left as well and they could leave because it was not publically announced whether or not they were exclusive to Zeetv but KSG has received the exclusivity fee and for him to now sight a movie as reason for his departure is frankly quite stupid because he will just be giving the Zee legal team ammunition in their case against him. As a law Student the issue of the 'exclusivity fee' is the main reason why I stand firm that the story does not make any sense because Zee will not simply fire Ksg and he cannot simply leave since each party will have enough ammunition to take the other to court and drag them through the ringer. Zee can site the fee while KSG can sue for defamation.

Lastly, In my opinion these are just rumors to create hype over the show once more since QH is in a TRP slump at the moment, because not one report makes sense. I for one am going to continue watching the show for the very reason why I started, the story, which is finally getting interesting once again

This is my opinion, if you have an opinion or agree with my opinion please feel free to share, this is not a thread to bash anyone, it is just to clear the air because this is a murky issue and we need clarity
