Hi all.. I visited Fatehpur Sikri last week n it was a wonderful experience.. 😳
I really had no idea what was there in Sikri 😆 but I was in for a pleasant surprise 😃
thought of sharing some pics with you all.. 😛 sorry about small pics.. I couldn't make them bigger
This was the first thing I saw there.. And I was so excited not only cuz of the palace but also for the fact that even monuments had her name as Jodha bhai which made me wonder on what basis did the karni sena protest saying Jodha bai DID NOT exist 😕 😆
This was Jodha's Palace built by Akbar.. The most beautiful n biggest of all the palaces in Sikri.. I was told the history part of it.. Akbar built three separate palace for his 3 chief begums! Ruq asked for a palace studded with Diamonds.. one more begum [well it's controversial whether it was salima or the christian begum mariam] asked for a palace studded with Gold whereas Jodha just asked for a simple palace with a mandir and have a look what Akbar built for Jodha 😳 this is just the front view
Inside this there's a huge area where three more palaces are built.. one is summer palace.. one is winter palace facing each other where Jodha use to stay in summer n winter seasons.. other than this there's a mandir or temple built
These are summer n winter palaces
this is the temple.. In front of the temple there's a tulsi plant what Jodha use to worship
this is the close up view where tulsi plant existed
And here is Jodha's kitchen or rasoi
No wonder Jodha was his beloved begum
this is ruq's palace.. it's the only part of it.. Diamonds studded here were looted after Akbar's period by hindu rulers n Britishers
this is the famous chess board on the ground where king n queen used to play chess with humans as pawns.. what they have shown in our show is actually true 😆
this is where tansen used to perform n the palace in the back is Akbar's personal palace.. couldn't take a close up of his palace since it's become very week no one's allowed to go near it
this is the Panchmahal supported only by pillars no walls.. the top storey is where Jodha used to do worship sun every morning 😊
sorry again for small pics
