Krrish 3 beats Chennai Express - ETC bollywood business

We have seen a huge controversy over Krrish 3 collections in past few weeks. There was a 40 crore difference in the figures quoted by producer (Rakesh Roshan) and few other websites. And this lead to several discussions about the inconsistency in the box office figures when it comes to Bollywood box office. We have two major trade gurus in India Taran Adarash and Komal Nahta and there is always difference in the numbers quoted by these two. BoxofficeIndia is a reliable source when it comes to Bollywood collection figures but there is always 5-10 crore difference between their figure and that of Taran Adarsh. Viewers have had enough of this Tamasha and several media outlets reported this never ending confusion over collection figures.

As per Taran Adarsh's figures, Chennai Express collected 227 crores nett in India whereas Krrish 3 collected more than 230 crores nett beating the record of Chennai Express. But BoxofficeIndia said that Krrish 3 collected only around 180+ crores. In that case, Chennai Express still remains the biggest blockbuster in India.

But Komal Nahta in his latest report says that Krrish 3 indeed broke the record of Chennai Express. As per Komal, Chennai Express had collected 216 crores nett in India whereas Krrish collected more than 217 crores nett in India after 4 weeks. And he says that the lifetime would be 220 crores for Krrish 3.

He also states that Krrish 3 made 80 crores profit, which is double it's production cost! And he says everyone related with the movie made money including distributors.

Music - 7-8 crores
