I am not in favor of this particular track because I think there could have been ample tracks and scenarios chosen to deepen their trust on one another.
I am sick and tired of pregnancy tracks, false pregnancy track, miscarriage tracks, forcing on a woman...all this have been done to death in all of BT shows but this being a historical show with real characters I expected the treatment to be different.

Anyway what has already been started has to be finished as well.

I had a major problem with Jodha today. I understand her pain and the humiliation she felt about being invaded by Jalal and at the contempt of her self-respect in his hands but certain things even a normal wife will do which she lacked as a princess.

Jalal also feels majorly betrayed and knows it is not his child but what I really liked was he painted that fake smile in front of his mom though he was burning from within. Yes he took it out on sword practice, he was not in himself but still he didn't make it known to his relatives and even to Ruqaiya about what he felt.

Maybe when he called Ruqaiya to his chamber he would have told her but she didn't want to hear anything and he left it at that. The problem I had was when Jodha walked in and asked Ruqaiya to stay back. I am not a person who is fond of washing dirty linen in public. I would have had no problems if Jodha fired Jalal in private when they were alone but why did she do it in front of Ruqaiya? Why include a 3rd person between your husband and yourself? Just because Ruqaiya is close to Jalal? Just because she told Ruqaiya before that nothing happened between Jalal and her? Just because Ruqaiya is Jalal's best friend and also loved Jalal? Whatever the reason I didn't find it palatable to see her bringing their own fights, misunderstanding, insults, questions in front of some one else?

Jalal could have given it back to her then and there. He could have pointed a finger at her character there itself in front of Ruqaiya and if he did I am sure Ruqaiya would have believed him over Jodha or at least would have given him a benefit of doubt. But he didn't! And that is definitely one up on Jodha for me. He kept her respect intact no matter what he personally felt about her character. He didn't insult her in front of Ruqaiya and neither did he try to pull Ruqaiya to side with him by telling Jodha something about her self-respect, character and nature. All he implied was Jodha might have been in tune with him that night because the fact is she is pregnant. I found that very interesting, even at a time like this he is not dishonoring Jodha to any one but is holding her honor high. If given an opportunity he would have sentenced Jodha to death by the most cruel means ever like he did with that woman imagining her to be Jodha but in reality he didn't. Why? We all know he is attracted to Jodha, he finds her appealing with all her talents, he is mesmerized by her but this is so intense and deep, it is much more than it is seen on the surface. He doesn't himself know that he respects her a lot no matter what, somewhere he knows deep down that Jodha can't do this, or may be he is unaware of his love for her. Whatever the reason he is upholding her honor instead of disgracing her in public.

For me this one instance left a deep impression in my mind. Jodha has always lacked the royal etiquette, manners, tactics, means and ways and today was again another instance of her impertinence. Ruqaiya has asked her to hold her tongue in front of maids or think and look before she talks, Jalal has stopped her many times before she starts her rants and only after he dispersed every one he let her talk. This quality is lacking majorly in Jodha and I was personally very irritated when she stopped Ruqaiya and started questioning Jalal. I would have taken it well looking at the situation if she questioned and blamed Jalal in privacy of their room. Anyway...somethings will and never can change! Sigh!

Maham is getting all puzzled about Jalal's attitude, why? Resham is her 'bafaadar', then how come she didn't tell Maham anything about the drink? Or did Sharif bribed her or threatened her not to open her mouth? Now that seeing Maham I feel, even if she comes to know about the truth she won't do anything because if the problem is solved Jalal and Jodha will be back together. This way with misunderstanding she can separate them.

Let the showdown happen tomorrow CV's and please do it in privacy of their room. The sooner its over the better for us viewers. I am scared, sincerely hope Jodha won't take any drastic step and pray Jalal won't do anything foolish in prime of his anger to Jodha. Again crossing my fingers and toes.

No, some things will never change.

The writers paint Jodha Begum as someone from a royal family lacking manners, strategic thinking. They make her into a fishwife haranguing customers in the market and telling whoever is around, as many details as she can about her situation

I think there are many people on the forum who are beyond irritated with Jodha. I will go so far as to say that I dont even feel sorry for her or her circumstances anymore. I'm tired of her crying in self pity and to me its like the boy who cried wolf too many times. I'm tired of her misplaced pride, arrogance, prejudices and anger and absence of courtesy. So I can safely say I'm firmly in Jalal's camp.
I give full points and more for Jalal for how he has handled this situation. I give full credit to Ruqs too. Her jealousy, hurt and fidelity to Jalal are realistic,,,as far as desi TV goes..

Although I dont support what Jo did in front of Ruqs today, I think the intent behind that was to 'hand' Jalal over to Ruqs in a twisted sort of way. Of course she has no right to do that but she wanted an answer and she wanted to clear herself of any blame Ruqs might place on her. Selfish? whats new in that? But she wants Ruqs to know that she didnt steal her man. That it was all him. I have no idea why though. I doubt its consideration for Ruqs considering that she is preoccupied with her own dilemma.

And Jalal was right to think that she was out to defame him. It did look like that because even if her intentions were to make things clear to his best friend he is more than capable of doing that himself should he choose to.

Here we have Jalal protecting her at every turn and then she makes herself look bad all by herself ..even if this time her intentions were to help herself and Ruqs.,...just my opinion...My twisted logic might be wrong

On another note...can we please move on to the next track..this is just really gross for a period drama especially.

Wonderful post Lana, enjoyed reading your view. I put in the exact same dislike for Jodha bringing their private matter in front of Jalal in my review. the only reason she did is because she is too self righteous and wants to prove to Ruqu that she did not lie, instead Jalal cheated her. Gosh, her character disappoints me so much. Everytime there is a crisis instead of facing it with courage she goes in the self pity mode like a below average human being - complaining to moti and kanha. Is she really a princess, that to rajputana - very doubtful about it.

Problem with her is she is surrounded in an aura of 'I, me and myself'...maybe Princesses were like that I don't know.
But another thing that bugs me is, she can be nice and good to every one including Maham, Ruq, Hamida Bano, Resham, Jijianga, Gulbadan bua, Hoshiyar, the crows, the mosquitoes, the bugs, the snakes, the tigers, the deer...to every one but Jalal. When Jalal was ruthless and cruel I understand, during MC track I understand and I myself felt like slapping him but when he started changing his attitude and did every thing possible in his means for her family and her then too all she did was taunt him and lectured him and spitted venom! Arre yeh kya baat huyi! Not a simple 'thank you' she ever conveyed on her own and yet she was brought up with all possible talents and manners and qualities.
And to clear her picture you bring your personal story out in front of a 3rd person...again not my cup of tea! I don't know what Amer royal family taught their oldest princess. I would have accepted her fury behind closed doors but in front of Ruq I was highly disappointed. And on the other hand what Jalal could have done but he didn't, that is the most important fact. e is the Shahensha and nobody can question his authority if he did sentence her but he didn't. He held his pride and honor in check so that his family and her doesn't get defamed.
I don't know what the CV's are doing!

True. I loved that Jalal didn't disclose his most angry suspicion about Jodha, to Ruqaiyya not did he try to get Ruqaiyya to side with him which she ordinarily, would've been really happy to.
He kept both of them at their places & even today, gave Jodha the respect that in his eyes she certainly doesn't hold!!!

But he also did so because he didn't want to give Ruqaiyya the impression that he has been cuckolded right under his nose!

But I've a very interesting question for Jodha.

Jodha, if even you were to be the wife of a tiny kingdom's king, and would've been pregnant with another man's child, he would've killed you. Or at the very very least, have you sent off to the jungle forever or to Amer if he had strong feelings for you.

Then pray tell me, why is it that this man who you claim hates you a lot & wants to destroy your life, who you claim you hate a lot & who is a Mughal on top of that the Emperor of India, why has this Emperor & man & your husband in particular, not picked up his sword & killed you by now when he clearly suspects you of an affair & trying to pass off another man's child as his & the Heir to the Mughal sultanate?

Why, Jodha?

Because she thinks he impregnated her. She has not considered that he thinks she is cheating on him. Well thats coming tomorrow so hopefully she will pause and think :)

She is an idiot.

He loves her. That's why.

And he trusts her a lot. Somewhere, he just cannot believe that she can be capable of something so heinous such as this.

But the main point is- He loves her.

I hope someone, soon, drives this point into her head. 😡

If it was any other king, or even a common man, he would've killed her. Esp it was a king!!!

He is the Emperor of India. The highest authority in Hindustaan, there is none bigger than him.

Then why?

I hope someone makes her ask herself this question. Like she questioned Jalal on why he gave away that fort to the Dhawalgarghians.

This woman makes me want to throw things at the tv.
