Written Update 4th november 2013 Jodha Akbar

Jalal is discussing the matter with his ministers just before the Deewan-e-khaas.He says that it was very unfortunate they people were pointing fingers at him,stating that he insulted his own religion.The truth being,he had been a true Muslim all his life.

He then lets them know that,he did have his doubts.Somebody must have leaked the information,because it was impossible for the news to reach Agra otherwise.He tells Adka saahab to find out who was the whistle blower. Protests needed to be put to an end,but first the revolter needed to be caught.

Meanwhile,Maham and Ruqaiya barge into Jodha's chamber accusing her,stating how wrong she was and whatever was happening,was her fault.She could have stopped Jalal but she didn't,so it was her duty now,to find a solution,she had to accept Islam.

Jodha tells them again,that Jalal had come to the temple on his own will.So,it was not her fault.She respects Islam,but that doesn't mean she will insult her own religion.She won't accept Islam .Ruqaiya mocks her saying,what kind of people were these Rajvanshis?At the time of her marriage,she had promised to support her husband,then what was the big deal about accepting Islam,her husband's throne was at stake.

Jalal enters the picture.He looks around,looking a bit annoyed.He asks Maham and Ruqaiya what they were doing in Jodha's chamber.They tell him that they had come here to put some sense into Jodha's head and make her accept Islam.

He very firmly says NO.Jalal had given his word at the time of his marriage to Jodha,that she is free to follow her religion even after the marriage.Thus,nobody will force her into accepting Islam.She will accept it only if she wants to. He looks at Jodha and then continues,saying,Jodha had not asked him to come with her to the temple,he had gone as per his own wish.

Jodha then says that,she would like the decision of her 'dharm parivarthan' be taken by Hamida Banu.Whatever her decision is,she would whole-heartedly accept it.

All the ladies are now in Hamida's chamber.Hamida says that she was honoured,for Jodha respected her so much,that she gave this decision of hers to her.But she wouldn't take advantage of this and make her accept Islam. She is free to do as she wishes. Jodha is relieved.

Its Deewan-e-khaas now.Jalal informs the Maulvis that he cannot force Jodha because of his word.And he will live upto his word.The vision then drifts to Jodha.Jodha tells that her decision was in Hamida's hands.Hamida comes forward and throws a googly.She says that her decision is that Jodha will convert to Islam.

Jodha is stunned at the sudden change in her decision.But she couldn't protest now,since she herself had given the right to Hamida.

The maulvis are very happy and they say that the converting ritual be done rightaway.Jodha is made to sit in vajrasan(Rememberd my yoga classes 😆).Jalal doesn't look pleased. But he keeps quiet.Just then sher mubaarak,an Imam from ajmer shareef arrives.

Jalal welcomes him and asks him what had brought him here.He tells them to stop the conversion ritual.The maulvis are taken aback.sher mubaarak then tells Jalal that he had a message from Salim Chisti saahab,the religious leader who had the highest post in the country at the time.

His message is read out loud.Salim Chisti tells Jalal(through the hand written message) that accepting a religion without loving it is a crime,and if they made Jodha accept it,they would be equally part of the crime.

Belief in Almighty is important,but,ways of worship differ.But none of them can be termed as wrong.He gives example of the birds flying in the sky.They are not held back by religion,yet,they are the closest to God,to heaven.

He tells Jalal to form a common ground,devoid of the religious restrictions.A ground where there is place only for Love. Love is involved with God,not hatred. He tells Jalal that once he finds love,he will find God.

Everyone unanimously accepts Salim Chisti's words.Jodha remains Hindu.

Jodha is in her chamber in her mandir.She thans Lord Krishna.Just then,she senses Jalal's presence.Jalal enters her chamber just then.

He was about to say something,but Jodha cuts into his words and starts talking.She tells him that if he was expecting a thank you from her side,then he was wrong.He might have kept up his one promise,but he violated the other one he had given her. That night in the tent,he broke his promise. It was so painful for her.

Jalal smiles and says that,oh yes,a black cloth being wrapped around her,must have been very painful. Jodha looks up at him,baffled. Jalal then describes what exactly had happened that night. Khwaja shareef( midwife) had told him that Jodha's body needed to be made warm and that responsibilty was given to him,her husband.

he had to make her warm,but the obvious tactic could not have been done,because he had given her his word.He had heard that black clothes increase body heat.So,he had wrapped black shawls all around her,thus her body warmth increased.

Jodha is relieved,but before she could smile,her anger re-surfaces.She asks him why hadn't he told her about this before only? Jalal laughs and tells that,it was a delight to watch her being annoyed and little overthinking would not have hurt her 😆 So,she asks him why he had told her now? He tells her that would have caused her more pain. And he couldn't let her suffer,could he? 😳

Jalal then leaves,leaving behind a blushing Jodha.

Cut to,Jalal is doing his namaaz in his chamber,as Jodha is doing her pooja in hers.Soon after Jalal finishes his prayers,Ruqaiya arrives talking about the recent developments. She enquires about his Amer trip. Dropping sings that she did know about the snowstorm and THAT night.

Jalal teases her saying so she was keeping an eye on him?Ruqaiya tells him that,she is his friend,ofcourse,but she also is his wife. Jalal tells her that whatever it is,it is a fact that he had spent that night with Jodha in the tent. Ruqaiya's heart breaks,she tries hard to hide her pain.

precap : Jodha and Jalal are cheerfully conversing in the garden. Sharing certain jokes,as Jodha imitates Jalal 😆 Ruqaiya is boiling looking at them,from her balcony.
