Did Salman ever claim to be purely Muslim? No...his mother is Hindu and it's very natural to be influenced by her ideas and beliefs as well apart from his dad's

Maybe he chooses not to align with any particular religion but to respect all religion...so what's wrong in that? it's something to respect and not to lose respect over

And as far as shirk is concerned we should leave it to God..only God can judge..and if you are juding someone then you are trying to play God...and that is also a form of shirk

Why are you surprised ? It is obvious. I mean, here in Bangalore, I have seen muslims celebrating whenever Pakistan beats India at cricket. You people have so much hatred for India. And you now hate Salman because he dared to participate in a hindu festival.

Agree with you sister...however, please dont misunderstand me here...no one is judging anyone...that is solely to Almighty Allah to judge and give an order on Judgement day to each and everyone of us...

I just raised a valid point...how can one support two opposing ideologies at the same time???

I understand what you mean. But this is not the right place to be raising such an issue. This is not a forum to debate Salman's religious beliefs because it is bound to cause a lot of friction.
It is very controversial (as you can probably see by the comments left) and it is probably going to get closed by the Mods very soon.
I think it would be best to let everyone do what they think is correct. This topic is creating a lot of friction between members and I'm sure that's not what you wanted.

Hey everyone,
Before anyone jumps the gun and assumes that I am gonna launch the whole biased tirade against Salman...think again. READ ON...
Well, I'm sure many of my fellow muslim brothers and sisters would have watched with their jaws dropped to the floor...as Salman Khan openly displayed a form of Shirk behaviour...astagfirullah... on national tv...by doing pooja / aarthi whatever in the BB house on the occasion of Diwali...

Unguided folks just dismiss it saying that he is just being "human" ...while we say HOW in one's right mind would they blatantly support 2 completely opposing ideologies?!?

Dear Mods, I know this is a slightly controversial topic but then again the host of the show doesnt seem to have any problem with his actions, then we should we shy away from discussing it?

@ all others -

Please stop posting hate comments to the Topicamaker!

What he/she is asking is about violation of religious rules. It's not demeaning Hinduism. It's a question whether Salman demeans Islam by following in Hindu rituals.

If the topic maker is narrow minded, so are you people. How many of you would have supported a Hindu if he would have performed namaz or kept fast in RAmzan?

@ Topicmaker

Every religion teaches us how we should live, what should be the purpose of our life, how we can attain enlightenment and be one with the Almighty.

Performing puja, namaz, and others are only rituals.

One can attain enlightenment or be feel united with God only by doing meditation regularly.

The rituals have been established to please the Gods. So if one celebrates the rituals of different religions, then what's harm in taht?

I know that few things are prohibited in Islam. Actually, many things are prohibited as per Hindu rituals too, but we have been able to overcome those rituals cause many Saints came and taught us that enlightenment cannot be attained by rituals only. It is more about your devotion and your humanity.
