Courting Dino
He
causes girls to incessantly drool. There's no two ways that Dino Morea
is HOT. Infact he is one of India's hottest model-turned actors. Winner
of the Gladrags Manhunt in 1999, he is now a successful actor.
He
sets the silver screen on fire with his irresistible looks and a body
to match. Dino has always been in the news for reasons both
professional and otherwise. He is currently in the news for three
reasons. His liaison with Nandita Mahtani (ex-wife of Sunjay Kapoor of
Karisma Kapoor fame). The soon-to-be released film
Shhh... where he plays the lead opposite Tanisha. And lastly, for having ventured into the food business.
What more reason does one need to get chatting?
ShaadiTimes finds out what makes him the man of the moment.
'Love is a beautiful feeling!'
"Love is a strong emotion, a beautiful feeling that brings immense joy
to one's life," says Dino. "Love plays a very important part of my
life, a positive energy that is created within you when you are in
love. It (love) extends from my family to my love for the audience. I'm
a person who falls in love quite easily, though love at first sight is
possible, it has never happened to me. I tend to think, that one must
grow in love, slowly and patiently."
Lessons to be learnt!
"These days the whole institution of marriage has reduced to farce,"
announces Dino, rather matter-of-factly. "Marriage is a sacred union,
whose sanctity can only be learnt from our previous generations. It
(marriage) gives you a life partner, someone you can share your life
with, an individual who is there for you in mind, body and soul,
someone with whom you can be yourself and a family to support you. The
idea that the person you love will be the mother of your children is
truly wonderful."
Marriage plans?
"Yes, marriage is certainly on my mind, I would love to get married and
start a family. Hopefully, sometime in the next two years."
Ingredients of a relationship
"Trust! Lots of trust, is imperative for any relationship to work.
Giving your partner a lot of space is equally important." And there are
some things Dino just needs to have in a relationship. "I have a few
basic expectations out of a relationship viz. love, trust, compassion
and a lot of pampering."
'I have learnt a lot from my parents'
Born to an Italian father and an Indian mother, he spent his first
eleven years in Italy; his childhood was like any other child. "Though
my parents came from different backgrounds, I was brought up like any
other kid. My mum and dad taught me discipline. I learnt how to take
care of myself from them."
For Dino, his parents have been an inspiration, "I've seen my parents
go through several hardships together and have always learnt a lot from
them."
As an actor, Dino just can't get enough of Hollywood legend Al Pacino, "I'm in complete admiration of him."
A brush with death
Disaster struck one icy cold morning on location of
Shhh...,
in Manali, a day that would change Dino forever. The car driven by the
director Pavan Kaul in which Dino, along with co-actors Tanisha and VJ
Gaurav were travelling skidded off the frozen road to avoid a truck
headed straight for them. Attempts to reduce speed failed, as the
wheels locked and the car turned a whole 180-degree and then hit the
side banisters before falling over. The car rolled over four to five
times before coming to a halt. Dino suffered multiple fractures. The
accident has bought him closer to life. "It made me realize that life
is too fragile, and anything can happen within seconds. The whole
incident has changed me as a person. I have begun to see life in a much
positive way, because you never know what might happen next."
'Bipasha and i are great friends'
"Bipasha is a person with a kind heart," says Dino, of his
ex-girlfriend. "I shared a wonderful relationship with her. But I guess
as we were only stifling each other's growth it was time to let go.
Maybe if we were a little older when we had met, we would have had a
longer relationship. Break-ups are tough; I don't wish it upon anyone.
In retrospect I don't have any regrets. There is no bitterness between
us. Life is too short to be cruel... one should live and let live. We
continue to share a fantastic relationship. In fact, she was there to
see me in the hospital after my accident. It makes me happy to see that
she is happy."
The ideal woman
"I guess the ideal woman would be a perfect companion. Someone who
believes in me, trusts me and is there for me no matter what."
Has cupid struck again?
And what does this handsome hunk have to say about his much-publicised relationship to Nandita Mahtani?
"She is close to me. But at the moment I wouldn't want to give our relationship any specific tag.
She is a really wonderful person, who exudes tremendous positivity. And beyond that I wouldn't want to comment on this issue."

Dino... the entrepreneur
Along with his brother, Dino has recently opened a restaurant called
Crepe Station, which specializes in healthy, non-fattening crepes and
waffles. "It's a great venture, which I hope, will expand even further.
Ever since I remember I always wanted to make money, become rich. I'm a
very ambitious person who works very hard to achieve my goals."
