The employee Ms. Astha Kirlosker is assigned the responsibility [for] the project of Agnihotri Institutes, Silver Jubilee Function as her first project. She is required to provide her services with full dedication.
While Ms. Astha is signing it without reading anything courtesy of her being being late on the first day of the job, Shlok is singing "Welcome Aboard".

Ok, except for clowns it was an interesting episode. I was happy to see Niranjan back because his scenes with Anjali and Shlok are always very good. If only they had shown Varad instead of clowns, it would have been better.
Myra, I missed the brown bag until you mentioned it. Then I went back and have to agree with you. If Ajju the grandmother had to give her an ugly bag for a gift, at least she could have given one that would keep some useful stuff such as small purse umbrella. Oh well, at least the blue dress was fine. So mother has better taste than the grandmother.
Now key highlights of the show:
1. The scene with the media and the dining table scene. Niranjan has trained Anjali well and Anjali has done the same to Sojal. So Anjali gets the commands from Niranjan and delegates it to Sojal when the folks asking for donation (Niranjan style wedding anniversary celebration) comes inconveniently while the media is there.
No wonder Anjali was looking so pensive the other day in front of the calender. Niranjan has not celebrated a single anniversary. So why is that? Why does he get so tense when the wedding anniversary issue comes up. Was he forced to marry Anjali or he does not want to give even a single happiness to Anjali. Anjali needs to call media whenever she wants something done.
Niranjan a big believer in images will do anything to maintain them. What a user - using his wife to maintain the image in public and in front of doting son Shlok.
2. So Niranjan is forced to celebrate the wedding anniversary and as usual still manages to use the opportunity to make himself look good in front of Shlok. So he conveniently tells Shlok that he being a big believer of simplicity is now willing to celebrate the anniversary for Anjali's happiness. Well, why didn't the thought occur to him in 29 years to make her happy. Shlok who wants to believe the worst of his mother has now another thing against her - making his great, simple father compromise with his principles to celebrate an event for her selfishness.
3. Shlok is the weak point of Niranjan. He probably will be the one who will make Niranjan loose control eventually when he rebels against him. Today Niranjan - the traditional one himself was putting plates in front of him to make him eat with them. So the SIL (whatever his name is) is in his delusional world when he thinks that he can replace Shlok in Niranjan's affections. Niranjan does not think anything of SIL and only uses him whenever he wants to.
4. Anjali on the other hand does seem to dote on him the way her smiles are reserved for him. But SIL is scared of Niranjan and Astha found a weak point there on which she pounced. So the treatment for SIL and Shlok is different. Just as she used Niranjan to make SIL back down, she could have done the same for Shlok. Afterall, she figured out in one meeting that Shlok doesn't like his mother Anjali. So she also knows how much Shlok cares for his father. But she did not use Niranjan's name to make Shlok back down because she herself wants to tangle with him despite all her denials.
So even though it was her fault for not reading the contract and signing it, she would have still taken the job had she read the contract and knew that her first project was managing Shlok's event. Now a person would be at least tiny suspicious that a person who holds her in so much contempt that he reduced the time given to old ladies because of her must have a reason to give her the contract. But as usual Astha is ignoring all the open hints. So Shlok did not have to make that much effort to lure her into his trap. She is quite a willing victim. She being of high ego has this over confidence that she can bend Shlok to her will.
5. Once again Astha's qualifications for the job are in question. Who reaches late for their first job on the first day. So how can a person like that manage any event successfully. She is quite immature and needs to learn responsibility.
6. Niranjan thinks that Shlok is his son Ram who will do whatever he wants. But Shlok himself is capable of keeping secrets when he has a goal in mind. So he told Niranjan that he hired an event company to manage their anniversary event, but did not mention that it was Astha whom he had hired. He is used to doing things his way and Niranjan cannot control him. Wonder if that is one of the reason Niranjan wanted Astha. Niranjan again looked angry when he heard that Astha was interfering with the old people's ashram.
7. Again a nice contrast shown between two families. One celebrates every family event, there is mutual respect and love between Kalindi and Avdhut, and Kalindi can express her disappointments and happiness quite freely. On the other hand, there are Niranjan and Anjali who just wear a mask and have quite a dysfunctional relationship, nothing is celebrated without a motive and Anjali is suppressing all her feelings inside. But as somebody wrote in Myra's thread (sorry cannot remember who wrote this), she is a suppressed volcano whose control is slipping.
8. Shlok is coming out to be a mixture of Anjali and Niranjan, yet he is his own person. So he is conscious of his high status like his mother and has her personality. Yet he is also like Niranjan - capable of taking vicious revenge when somebody comes into his way and capable of keeping secrets. But he is also capable of feeling warmth and showing emotions; he does it for Varad and Kavya. And he also softens when it comes to Niranjan. He also did not feel good when the old women were telling him their sad stories. So there is a compassion somewhere inside him despite his upbringing in this suffocating environment.
Overall, a better episode than yesterday and quite interesting for all the undercurrents shown in the Agnihotri family.
