It all started with the song Govinda aala re from Manmohan Desai-directed 1963 film Bluff Master. Since then songs based on Janmashtami have found a prominent place in umpteen Bollywood films.
In an interaction with Tellychakkar.com, TV celebrities speak their heart out on which Bollywood song dedicated to the Lord make them shake a leg in ecstasy.
Shilpa Anand: I like the song Radha Kaise Na Jale from the film Lagaan. It may not be a typical Janmashtami song but I really like the track and rhythm that is extremely melodious. I find that song very cute and naughty at the same time.
Mohit Sehgal: I used to celebrate Janmashtami a lot when I was in Delhi, but now I don't. And when I think of this festival I think of handi breaking. I love the Mohd. Rafi sungGovinda Aala Re which I can much relate to handi breaking that I love watching.
Ragini Khanna: For me it would be the Shammi Kapoor mouthed Govinda Aala Re. It is a very peppy song and has got a lot of inherent happiness attached to it.
Anuj Sachdeva: I do not believe in commercialising devotional songs. The chant Hare Rama Hare Krishna is much more soothing than any other song.
Daljeet Bhanot: Till date, every song of Janmashtami has been directed and choreographed well. I love the Go Go Govinda song from the film Rowdy Rathore. Since I am a great dancing enthusiast, I liked the way it was choreographed; it really gets you grooving. Also when Sonakshi Sinha breaks the handi, it gives one the feeling of girl power.
Sumit Vats: I do not have any favourite Janmashtami song but yes I like Oh Palan Haresong from Lagaan. I feel the song has wonderful lyrics and is very melodious.
