Probably, this wasn't a breakthrough role or anything, and I don't know why people are making it out to be 😆

Yes, I think this is the first Rohit Shetty film where the heroine had such a prominent role in the film! After watching YJHD I was so disappointed with DP's role, and I was not expecting her to have a big role in CE..I expected SRK to hog all the limelight!! But DP is back with a bang! She had a bigger and more substantial role than what she had in cocktail as well! she was damn good in the film..for the first time I did not find the SRK-DP jodi cringeworthy..they looked cute together! DP was the right choice and those who have watched the film will agree with that!!

The film needed a si actress as the heroine.and here we have to choice i.e deepika and asin.asin could have also done the role but the chemisrty between her and srk would have been 100% flop.whereas dp-srk share an awesome chemistry.In this film chemisrty between the hero -heroine should be great as this rom-com.Hence deepika was the final choice

She is getting unanimous appreciation for CE from the critics even the ones who thrashed the film and SRK loved Deepika in it. Mihir, Raja Sen, Masand, Anupama to every one all of them praised her...which shows the makers chose the right person to play the part. Plus she looks south-indian already had a slight SI accent. Plus considering she is appreciated so much for it... I dont think anyone else needed to do it.

After Love Aajkal, this is Dpad's Best performance, she reminded me of Sridevi a lot... Any other actress would have done it in different way, nothing impossible as we can say for Rani's role in BLACK, no one could have pulled it so well...

If Juhi Chawla was still acting in main-stream she would have done it 10 times better. period.

PC anytime. But i loved DP completely but i believe PC would have been equally good

Sure anyone could have because it is not path breaking. But not everyone could have brought out that same zest, twang, endearment, expressions etc etc etc. She was really, really good in a few scenes and not once did she pale in front of SRK which in itself is incredible.
