Can any actress do DEEPIKA's role in CE?!!

I am up for a hattrick. 😉😆 So, DEEPIKA has been getting good feedback for her fourth consecutive success in a row, CHENNAI EXPRESS (CE). However, could any actress have done the role better than her or is it to early to comment? Anuskha, Priyanka, even Sonakshi perhaps could have done the role with ease. I just don't know why people are finding the role special. Isn't it a typical masala commercial SRK hamfest? 😕

It's a masala flick first of all - those movies don't really require much acting in the first place neither from the actor or the actress - Bebo in Golmaal series? Sonakshi in Rowdy Rathore, Asin in Ready etc

I don't think that it's DP's most defining role or whatever she did good with whatever she had its as simple as that - and yes in a masala flick like this any ABCD can come and yet the movie would do well regardless because its a mindless masala entertainer not some Oscar winning film.

She is getting unanimous appreciation for CE from the critics even the ones who thrashed the film and SRK loved Deepika in it. Mihir, Raja Sen, Masand, Anupama to every one all of them praised her...which shows the makers chose the right person to play the part. Plus she looks south-indian already had a slight SI accent. Plus considering she is appreciated so much for it... I dont think anyone else needed to do it.
