A number of fans of the show have defended Ovi as a victim in the Arjun-Purvi love astory...what I cannot fathom, is how can this person be considered a victim when she practically blackmailed Purvi into giving up Arjun for her. Granted Purvi should have stood up for her but from what I saw, Ovi was not exactly virtuous but downright selfish and greedy. She not only wanted what her sister had but didn't care what Arjun wanted either.
She got her marriage with Arjun but she was a miserable mess throughout and she didn't once realize that perhaps Arjun didn't love her. To me that's a very self-centered person who doesn't have the ability to see beyond herself. The only time I have ever agreed and felt for her was with her is that she was entitled to have seen and held her baby but Onir, at the request of Purvi, passed it off as their kid and tragically she never got to see it.
For me Ovi has never been a likable character; she was never well written and never given any qualities that could make a viewer embrace her. All her behaviors bordered on selfishness. Not once did the writers show her develop any insight in that she had taken Arjun away from Purvi or ever show any appreciation or warmth to her sister who was overly sacrificial to her. And while I found it utter nonsense what Purvi did but at least you can show some appreciation for it.
