After Kangana Ranaut in Knock Out and Rani Mukerji in No One Killed Jessica, actress Zareen Khan will be seen essaying the role of a television news reporter in Amar Must Die (tentative title). Whereas, her co-star, Rajeev Khandelwal too will appear in a never seen before avatar. He plays the role of a model, who is also an unsuccessful movie actor.

About the film's story, a source related to the project says, "The story begins with someone poisoning Rajeev. While doctors say that he only has a day to survive, Rajeev instead of lying down on the bed, thinks of utilizing the time searching for his killer (the person who poisoned him)."

The source further reveals, "Between all the struggle that Rajeev goes through to unveil the mystery, Khan, as a TV news reporter comes to his aide. She will be shown investigating Rajeev's story and revealing it on television."

Directed by international film-maker Param Gill, the movie will be shot over a month long schedule at studios in Mumbai. It will also be shot at real locations in Kalyan and Dombivili (suburban Thane), at a hospital, residential colonies and streets. Interestingly, Khan's news room has also been created at one of the buildings there. The movie is being produced by Remo D'Souza.
