SRK is the only non South person in 'Chennai Express'

Rohit Shetty's 'Chennai Express' is an action love story. The plot revolves around Shah Rukh Khan, who plays a guy from Mumbai who goes to the South where he meets Deepika Padukone, who plays a Tamilian.

Interestingly, other than SRK, the entire cast and main crew are from the South — starting with director Rohit Shetty to actors Deepika, Sathyaraj and Priya Mani to writer Madi and even the cameramen Dadli and Guru.

While shooting in Munnar, there were 300 local dancers and to communicate even a simple line like 'okay you do this with me' was a challenge for SRK and he needed two translators to make them understand. On one occasion when Shah Rukh said, 'Kundi kholo' (which in Hindi means open the latch), one of the crew was shocked askundi in Tamil means 'bum'.

I was just digging up old articles on chennai express...and found that they were indeed planning on releasing it on eid 2013...this article is of Dec 2011...

Although this film is yet to go on the sets, it's already making waves in Tinsel Town. And why not? Blockbuster director Rohit Shetty will be directing Shah Rukh Khan for the first time. And it gets even better – it's an out-and-out entertainer like all Shetty's previous blockbusters.

News is that shooting will begin only in the second half of2012 and guess what? UTV Motion Pictures is toying with releasing the film during Eid in 2013. Hmmm.

Weee saw the trailer yesterday.

Haha I surprisingly loved it. I had NO expectations but this is seriously hilarious. Deepika mann! The girl is on firee! YJHD, Ramleela and now CE

Loved that 'bakwaas dictionary' line LOL

SRK was great, not exceptional though. However he IS acting. Masala film hai parr still he is acting.
