Even today, though I started living in nuclear family for a long time, I still hate to enter the empty house using my keys. I wish some one is home and offer atleast a glass of water when I get back from office.

I grew up in a nuclear family back home in Malaysia and my husband's family in India is a joint family. So far I love it. They are really nice but as my husband puts it, when there are a lot of bhartan in the house, there is definitely going to be some noise. So there are pros and cons I think. And we only go back to India for holidays so maybe in that short span of time, I love it coz Im surrounding by everyone. But I dont know if I would like it long term. But living with parents is definitely a wish for me. I just dont know if I can deal with the whole uncle, aunty, cousins thing.
