I and my family always praise Gautam's acting almost on a daily basis!

His expressions are so controlled! It is a very tough role which he is performing with such near perfection! His smile, his eye movements are all perfectly controlled and always in alignment with the situation and the character he is supposed to be. Even his voice modulation is fabulous so much so that I find it hard to believe that it is indeed he who's speaking or is it someone else who dubs for him?! šŸ‘

Most other actors on TV are just lookers. Statuesque models with robotic expressions and blank eyes. And some few are not that great actors but are aided by a powerful script and a perfectly etched out character.

It is only Gautam whose eyes speak volumes and who though in possession of a wel sculpted body, does not look like a mere sculpture! It's one of the most complex characters in history of television (at least from mid 90s onwards) which Gautam has been chosen to perform. And it's not just the script or situations but also his own fabulous, nuanced acting with minutest expression in control - that makes this serial so watchable!

I admit sometimes I get frustrated with the way the story is progressing or some logical issues or pace issues. But I did not give up on the show at all only due to Gautam! (Not even SLB!)

I have always said I never thought he was capable of such performance!

I think it could be his bad luck or wrong approach (of shuttling between ads, music videos, movies, kid's shows, soaps, reality shows etc.) with no proper focus, bad choices and a probable laidback approach (towards TV not in general) which made it a long and ardous journey for him to finally come into his own as an actor.

I don't mean to sound offensive but his acting and look was to casual in past. Almost always dressed up as a teen or college guy with floppy hair and doing roles which lacked substance. Rarely formally dressed or offering a range of expressions on his face. Laidback and kind of lazy body language.

Doing pointless films also wasted his time.

I am more than happy to see him evolve into such a fine actor and surprised to see the change in his body language and overall persona! 😃

I cannot imagine anyone else as SC (if adapted in a modern era) after seeing Gautam.

Better late than never! I hope SC succeeds and brings him laurels, opening doors to even better breaks for him in future either on TV or films.

And he's hundred times better than what Ronit or Ram Kapoor were when they were younger and of his age - as actors! By the time he is as old as them he'll have developed himself into an even finer actor!

i think he is fantastic
i keep wondering how come i havent heard about him or seen him before
he has fantastic experience in expression control and i love that about him.
his expressions and body tone is on par - i put him on the same pedestal with BS and GC.

@HotDogg

Thanks. Yes I did think of quitting the forum. I did not say it but even if I wanted to stick to the show and give it a chance, keep up my patience and all - still I did consider I should avoid post in the forum, especially my own views about episodes - even if I just keep replying to other's threads.

I do not mean to be judgemental on others but personally I do not watch this show just for romance. And I see no sense or morality in a boy and girl having physical romance if they know they are not going to marry each other. Love and feelings, sensitivity for each other are fine by me but it's murky once we enter the physical contact realm. It's lust. Not just love.

This is just my opinion. And I do not get the gushing over such scenes or episodes (hence I remain silent or just disagree a bit) and I think others do not like my disagreement/dissatisfaction/disapproval of such stuff shown in the serial.

I would like to give time to the show. But if it's going to simply beat about the bush and continue romance followed by drama yet no clarification of things, then I am not patient enough to watch hackneyed dragging episodes with just one or two scenes to gush about.

I feel watching a show and forgetting it the same day is perhaps a better option than discussing it online or thinking/debating deeply about whatever that was shown in it. Experience in an another forum was also taxing in recent times.

np..a forum is a democracy and everyone has the right to express their opinions...so keep firing...
different opinions make us think and help validate our own thinking...

i had read in gautam's early interviews on SC that they were struggling with the screenplay in the beginning...SLB in an interview during launch said he still has large control over screenplay, though direction is being handled by someone else...a TV serial format is a learning for SLB too despite his tremendous success in films...so my wine analogy...hopefully the episodes they say was the screenplay struggle phase were the ones we are seeing now...

about the physical romance bit...maybe its not simply lust...if it was he wouldn't have stopped or tried to force...check out gautam's expressions in the last toofan episode...his acting is so good...his face has no lust...its actually so serene,,almost as if he's finally at peace...almost like he's discovering his love for the first time...when he stops her his eyes request her,,,please don't run away...i am shit scared too...so just stay with me..and he stops just when kumud starts to get uncomfortable...she's doesn't have to push him away or anything...

look at it this way...as he also says later...they are getting pulled together despite both having very logical reasons to keep away...so the physicality is probably an expression of how despite his mind saying 'no way'...his heart is already connecting and telling his mind 'please shut up, this is beyond your level now, you don't know what this is about'...how else do you show this 'kashmakash'?...

neways...bottomline...anyone else would just have acted showing lust,,,but gautam's a class apart and managed to show love and caring even in the high physicality toofan epi...
