KANOON KI KHILAAF MUJHRIM
SCENE 1
It was cold January morning. Purvi and
Shreya are on their way to the CID bureau. They are laughing together as Purvi
stops the car at the traffic signal.
Purvi- Phir kya hua?
Shreya- Bas! Mein toh usko kaha 'Bhaisaab.
Mein CID se hoon. Mujhe acchi tarase pata hai mujhe kya karna hai!' He looked
surprised and backed off at once!
Purvi- Accha hua, tum sahi waqt par waha
pahuch gaye. Varna pata nahi, tumhaari padosi kaise bach sakte thei!
Shreya- Wahi toh! (She laughs) Uska chehra
jab usko pata chala main kaun hoon! Worth it, Purvi!
Purvi- Waise, she should go to the police.
Pati ke khilaaf FIR file karna chaahiye! (Suddenly she notices Shreya's
expression changing. Shreya is looking at something from Purvi's window)
Shreya- Er.. woh kya?
Purvi looks in the direction, and a
huge truck comes beside her car.
Shreya- Purvi, zara gaadi ruko. Side karo!
Without a word, Purvi takes her car
foward, as the signal turns green. She parks her car at the roadside. Shreya
gets off and starts looking around at the footpath. Purvi joins her.
Purvi- Hua kya, Shreya?
Shreya- Yahaa pe abhi abhi ek bachi ko dekha!
Aisa lag raha tha koi museerbat mein hain!
Purvi looks around.
Shreya- She was crying, and was wearing a
blood soaked school uniform!
Purvi- Kya!
The two then parts ways, Purvi in one
direction and Shreya in the other. Then crossing the road, they search for a
school child. The child is nowhere. The two officers come back to the car.
Purvi- Shreya. Kya woh akeli thi?
Shreya- Nahi. Ek aadmi tha uske saath! Woh
bhi shayad ghayal tha! Lekin mere dhyaan uss bachi par tha!
Purvi- Shayad woh dono hospital gaye hai.
They see a familiar car stopping by
them. It is Sachin. Sachin stops the car, and gets off.
Sachin- Kya hua? Tum dono yaha? Itne
pareshaan kyon ho?
Shreya tells him, and Sachin looks
around.
SCENE 2
At Abhijeet's house, Abhijeet is just
getting ready to leave. Combing his hair and whistling, he looks at his
reflection in the mirror. He smiles as he thinks of his upcoming dinner, double
date, with Aina, Dia and Daya. Suddenly his phone rings. It was Suhaani, his
niece.
Abhijeet- Haan Hana?... Kaise ho? ...Sab theek
hain na? ... Haan main theek hoon... Haana Daya bhi!... Asha kaise hai?...
Hm... Kab aaogi yaha pe?... Hm... Okay!... Haan baba, haan, akela nahi hoon,
bahar bahut jaata hoon!... Accha, apna khayal rakhna! Bye!
Hanging up, Abhijeet smiles.
Taking his bunch of keys, he opens his door to see a little schoolgirl sitting
on his door porch! Abhijeet gets startled. The child is sobbing, her bag on the
floor, her bottle around the neck. In her hand is a tearstained envelope. There
are splatters of blood on the hem of her skirt. A beautiful Alsatian dog is
sitting beside her, protective and alert. The dog looks up at Abhijeet.
Abhijeet comes out his momentary shock and slowly kneels down, his eyes on the
dog. The dog emits a low growl, and Abhijeet keeps at a safe distance.
Abhijeet- Beta... (The girl looks him) Kya hua?
The girl silently hands over the
envelope. His eyes on the dog, Abhijeet gently takes it. The little girl then
wraps herself around her dog. Abhijeet notices it, gives a small smile as he
opens the letter. He looks at it. Slowly getting up, he reads the letter and
then looks at the child, shocked. He then kneels down again.
Abhijeet- Bachi, tumhaara naam kya hai?
The child mumbles something as she
continued holding her face into the dog's fur. The dog glances at Abhijeet. At
a loss for words, Abhijeet dials a number.
SCENE
3
Daya's car stops. He gets off and comes
towards Abhijeet's house. He notices Abhijeet reading the letter and the child
wrapped into her dog.
Daya- (Softly) Boss...
Abhijeet- Aa gaya tu. (He comes foward and
shows the letter) Yeh dekho...
Daya reads the letter and then looks at
the child.
Daya- Abhijeet. Kuch dere pehle Shreya aur
Purvi raastei par ek ghayal hui bachi ko dehka... Kahi yeh toh nahi?
Abhijeet- Accha? Kaha pe? Kis raastei par?
Daya- Andheri-kurla road.
The two then glance back at the child
then at each other. Daya nods his head and the duo walk towards the child and
kneel down in front of her.
Daya- Bachi... Tumhara naam kya hai?
By now, the child has stopped crying.
She looks up at the two and whispers- 'Vrinda'.
Abhijeet- Vrinda beta, tumhe bhookh lagi hai?
The child wipes her eyes, nodding
slowly.
Daya- Chalo, andar chalein. Abhi uncle
tumhe kuch khilaaynge...
The child gets up, holding to the dog.
The Alsatian protectively comes in between the officers and the kid.
Abhi-Daya get up too.
Daya's phone rings. Abhijeet hands out
his palm to the child. The child just holds on to the dog, looking at him
hesitatingly. Daya answers the phone, moving aside.
Abhijeet- Daro mat beta!
Vrinda- Kya tum CID uncle ho?
Abhijeet- Hum dono CID uncle hoon beta... Issi
liye tumhaari daddy ne tumhe mere pass cchod diya...
Vrinda- Papa ko jaantei ho?
Daya come foward and gently replies-
Haan beta, hum dono tumhaari papa ko jaanta hoon.
Vrinda slowly takes Abhijeet's
outstretched hand. The dog emits a low growl.
Daya- What is your dog's name?
Vrinda- Rocker...
Daya- Accha Rocker.. Good boy... Good
boy... bhookh lagi hai?
The dog gives a slow, unsure wag.
Abhijeet takes the child in. Daya picks
up the bag and goes in. Rocker follows in as well.
SCENE 5
Putting down the letter on his desk, Acp
Pradyuman looks at Abhijeet and Daya. The duo are at the bureau. The whole team
has assembled there- Shreya, Purvi, Sachin, Vineet and Freddy.
Acp- Ab Vrinda kaha hai?
Abhijeet- Maine usko Aina ke pass cchod
diya. Uske pehle, Vrinda ko medical check up karwaya. Bachi ko kuch nahi
hua.
Acp- Uss dress ko check up kiya?
Daya- Salunkhe saab ke pass hai. Reports
aate hogi.
Acp thoughtfully nods and looks at the
letter.
Freddy- Sir. Letter mein kya likha hua hai?
Acp- Tum padke sunao (Hands him the
letter)
Freddy reads
out- 'Dear Abhijeet.
I am in a deep danger. My wife got
attacked and they are after me now. Please look after my daughter! My dog is
also with her. Time is running out and before they kill me off, I am leaving
her, the dog and pikoo with you. Please take care! Pikoo is as precious to me
as is the dog and my daughter!
Your friend, Amal.'
Sachin- Yeh pikoo kya ho sakta hai?
Shreya- Shayad koi code ho?
Purvi-Magar hum kaha aur kya dhoondhu?
Vineet- Ho sakta hai uss bag mein ho?
Abhijeet- Salunkhe woh bag check kar raha
hai... (Turns to Acp) Sir, Amal mere aur Daya ka bahut kareeb dost hai.
Acp- Aur CID officers ke naate hummein
kuch karna hoga. Amal kya kartei thei?
Daya- Amal ek cryptologist hai sir.
Paanch saal pehle NSA, FBI aur CIA ke liye kaam kiya karte thei. Ab retired
hai. Yaha aake settle kiya. Patni Sunila ke saath investigative journalist aur
CBI ke liye consultant cryptologist ki kaam karte hai.
Acp- Patni bhi?
Abhijeet- Haan sir...
Acp gives a deep thought and then gives instructions- Sachin. Salunkhe ke pass jao aur reports mango. Vineet. Woh bag
aur bottle le aao aur acchi tarase check karo. Freddy. Tum CBI se Sunila aur
Amal ki saarei records le lo. Abhijeet aur Daya. Ussi jagah mein jao jaha pe
Shreya aur Purvi ne Vrinda ko dekhi thi aur tekhlikat shuru karo. Purvi aur
Shreya. Tum dono mere saath uss journal agency mein aao.
All- Yes sir.
Acp- Daya. Rocker kaha hai?
Daya- Diya ke pass.
Acp- Accha? Mauka milte hi tum dono
Aina-Diya ke pass jaatei ho?
Abhijeet and Daya blush and quickly
excuse themselves and leave. Acp smiles
SCENE 6
Acp, Purvi and Shreya enter the office.
The company logo 'Breaking News Pvt Ltd' glowed above them. Noticing a peon
walking near them, Shreya asks for the Manager.
Peon- Reception se pooccho. Waha pe. (He
walks away)
Acp- Purvi. Shreya. Tum dono chup chupke
se puch taach karo. Mein chief se milta hoon.
The girls nod and separate. Acp walks
towards the reception. The receptionist is gossiping away on the phone.
Acp- Excuse me?
The receptionist ignores him.
Acp clears his throat loudly.
The receptionist glances at him-
Kya hai?
Acp- Mujhe yaha ki chief se milna hai.
Receptionist- Baad mein waapus aao.
Phone mein hoon, buddhe dude. (Turns to the phone)
Acp sharply slams the reception table- Iss agency ka chief kaha hai. Bulao usko. BULAO!
Recptionist- Oi! Tameez se baat
kar. Kya problem kya hai? Kaha na, baad mei aa jao!
Acp snatches the phone and hangs up.
Before the receptionist can react, Acp
cuts him off- Main ACP Pradyuman hoon, CID se. (The receptionist gets
shocked and pales)
Acp- Ab batao, chief kaha hai.
The receptionist starts mumbling-
W-w-woh... Jai sir abhi office mein nahi hai...
Acp- Kaha hai tumhara Jai saab? Agar
naukri jaan se pyaara hai toh unhe phone pe lagao aur bulao.
Receptionist- Magar baat kya hai
sir?
Acp- Gadbad. Bahut gadbad. (Purvi and
Shreya join him) Haan kuch mila?
Purvi and Shreya inform him that Amal
and Sunila were working on a secret mission for the past month and only Jai and
Manav knew about it.
Acp- Manav? Yeh Manav kaun hai?
Purvi- Jai ka personal assistant.
Acp- Kaha hai woh?
Shreya- Jai ke saath hai.
Acp turns to the receptionist, who
hangs up. He tells him that Jai and Manav are on their way.
Acp- Good. Hum intezaar karunga.
SCENE 7
Reaching the spot, Abhijeet and
Daya split up, each with a photo of Vrinda. They go to each shop in the
surrounding regions, and even approach auto drivers. No one has seen the kid.
After nearly twenty minutes, Daya and Abhijeet meet up at a small paan waala's
shop. The shopkeeper is their common khabhri. They ask him if he has seen the
kid.
The man- Nahi saab. Apunko maaloom nahi hai.
Lekin agar apoonko kuch maaloom padta hai, zaroor bataaonga!
There was an auto driver standing
nearby, paan in his hand. He glances at the photo.
Driver- Arre! Yeh toh wahi gudiya hai jisko
maine cchod diya tha!
Abhi and Daya look at each other.
Abhijeet- Matlab tum usko dekha tha?
Driver- Haan saab...
Daya- Zara dhyaan se dekho aur acchi tarase
yaad karo tum usko kaha se kaha tak dekha?
Driver- Arre saab. Yahi par. Saki Naka
crossing pe mein usko dekha tha. Woh apne papa ke saath thi. Ek kutta bhi saath
tha! Dono ke haalat bahut kharap tha. Maine ruka aur pooccha, 'Hospital jaana
hai?' Uske papa ne kaha ki pehle uss bacchii aur kutta ko kahi aur jagah mein
cchodna hi.
Daya- Boss. Matlab Amal ne pehle Vrinda ko
yaha se tumhaare pass cchod diya.
Abhijeet- Haan Daya... (To the driver) Phir kya
hua?
Driver- Bachi ko drop kar ke usko meine City
General Hospital mein drop kiya.
Daya- Thanks.
(Duo then walk away)
Abhijeet- Daya. Tumhe Amal ka pata yaad hai?
Daya- Amal apna pata picchle mahine badal
diya tha. Uske baad mujhe pata nahi hai...
Abhijeet- Saki Naka crossing. Matlab ussi jagah
ki aas pass hoga. Ek kaam kartei hain. Tum hospital jao aur dekho Amal waha hai
kya. Uska photo hai tumhara pass/
Daya- Haan. Cellphone mein ek group photo
mein hai...
Abhijeet- Theek hai. Mein yaha pe Vrinda ki
pata dhoondh nikalunga.
SCENE 8
In the lab, Sachin comes to see
Salunkhe busy. His assistant Vijay is helping him.
Sachin- Morning Salunkhe saab!
Salunkhe- Arre Sachin aao aao. Pradyuman kaha
hai? Ussika intezaar kar raha tha!
Sachin- Iss case ki tekhlikat kar raha hai...
Sir, kya kuch mila?
Salunkhe- Haan. Mila toh hai. (Shows the dress)
Iss bachi ki khoon nahi hai. Balki uski ma baap ka khoon hai.
Sachin- My god... Bechari Vrinda... Kuch toh
galat dekhi thi usne...
Salunkhe- Off course, Sachin!
Vineet enters and greets Salunkhe and
asks for the bag.
Salunkhe- Iss bag mein toh kuch toh mila. (He
shows Sachin and Vineet come school notebooks, a school diary, a tiffin box)
Aur iss bottle mein kuch khaas nahi hai.
Vineet- Kuch code jaise kuch mila?
Salunkhe- Woh toh tumhara kaam. Lekin haan. Iss
diary mein uski ma ki khoon aur iss tiffin box pe uski baap khoon laga hua tha.
(Sachin and Vineet exchange glances)
SCENE 9
Freddy is busy. He first looks through
the CBI records that are faxed to him. He then speaks with a CBI head and
learns that as of now Sunila and Amal have stopped consulting with the CBI for
past six months. Looking through the papers, he finds nothing substantial. The
papers have information of the all the decoding work on which Amal-Sunila had
give their expert opinions.
Just then Vineet and Sachin enter.
Sachin- Kuch mila Freddy?
Freddy tells them his findings.
Vineet- Shayad iss diary aur tiffin box mein
saarei raaz cchupa hua hai. Yahi humaara suraag hai!
Freddy and Sachin nod their heads
thoughtfully.
SCENE 10
At Breaking News agency, Jai and Manav
enter to see Acp, Shreya and Purvi waiting. By then the whole office has come
to know that CID officers have come.
Jai- Boliye sir? Main kya madad kar sakta
hoon?
Acp- Amal aur Sunila kaunsa mission mein
thei/
Jai- (Looking around) Sir please. Aap mere
cabin mein aaye!
Acp nods and he, Shreya and Purvi are
shown the way.
Manav shuts the door while Jai turns to Acp- Sir, aap yeh sab kyon
poonch rahe ho?
Acp- Shayad Amal aur Sunila ki jaan khatre
mein hain. Dono hi gayab hai aaj subhei se.
Jai- Kya? My god! (Shocked, he plops on
his sofa)
Purvi and Shreya glance at each other
while Acp glances at Manav.
Acp- Jai. Ab hummein batao. Waqt nahi hai
mere pass!
Manav-(Coming foward, equally shocked) Sir.
Woh dono Mr. Raghunath Baleshwar ke khilaafh kuch information collect kar rahe
thei.
Acp-(Raising an eyebrow) Raghunath
Baleshwar? Woh mashroor industrialist?
Jai-(Getting up) Sir. Shayad Raghunath ek
aatankwaadi hai.
Purvi- Terrorist? Kyon lagta hai aise? Kuch
sabooth mila?
Jai- Nahi. Par ek mahine ki pehle ki baat
hai, jab uss raat...
(FLASHBACK)
(Amal and Sunila are shown eating at a
diner, their daughter Vrinda with them. The family is quite happy, as it is the
couple's wedding anniversary. Around them there is not much of a crowd.
Suddenly a waiter comes up with a chit. Amal takes it, puzzled, and the waiter
gestures towards a figure at another table. One look at him and Amal and Sunila
look at each other. Amal reads the chit and gets up and goes to the man. The
man greets him and tells him that he is from Interpol and needs Amal's help in
collecting evidence against Raghunath. Amal asks why and the man replies that
Raghunath is a terrorist. Amal says that if that is true then why not go to
Mumbai police and take help. The man replies that there is no concrete proof in
writing. He has got a tip and he needs a cryptologist to decode Raghunath's
dealings. Amal tells him that he has retired now. The man tells him that
Raghunath is a traitor as well to India. Amal thinks and then accepts. The man
leaves and Amal joins his wife. While Vrinda is busy in her own world of chocolate
dessert, Amal tells Sunila who feels shocked but agrees.)
Jai- Uske baad woh dono Interpol ke liye
investigation shuru kiya. Mere liye secret mission sirf ek bahana hai. Jai mera
bhai jaisa hai, is liye meine aise madad aur sahara diya dono ko.
Acp-I see... (Thoughtfully) Interesting.
Theek hai. Dono ki desk kaha hai?
Jai- Acp sir, dono ki desk pe kuch nahi
hai. Sirf newspapers.
Shreya- Phir bhi. Desk kaha hai?
(Shreya and Purvi are shown the way by
Manav, while Acp waits. Minutes later, the two officers come up, armed with all
the papers they find.)
Acp- Good. Jai, Agar zaroorat pari toh
phir se tang karunga. Aur kuch khaas pata chala toh CID ko phone karna.
Jai- Jee.
Acp and his officers leave.
SCENE 11
After enquiring here and there,
Abhijeet reaches a housing society. There a security guard recognises Vrinda's
photo.
Guard- Kya hua saab?
Abhijeet- Kya hua matlab? Sawaal toh mujhe
poochhna chaahiye! Yaha ek baap aur beti musirbat mein hai aur tum yaha pe
khade khade dekh rahe thei!
Guard- Matlab?... Musirbat?
Abhijeet- Security guard ho na tum?Aakhri baar
kab dekha tum Amal saab ko?
Guard- Saab, kal raat, jab office se laut aa
raha tha tab maine dekha.
Abhijeet- Aur aaj?
Guard- Nahi dekha...
Abhijeet- Accha? Koi shaque nahi hua?
Guard- Nahi saab!
Abhijeet- Kaisa security hai yeh! Accha. Tum
kya kuch ajeeb dekha tha? Kuch ajeeb hua tumhaare saath?
Guard- (Thinking) Ajeeb... Haan saab. Subhei
subhei ek aadmi toh aaya tha mere pass. Madad mang rahe thei. Keh re thei ki
woh kho gaya tha aur ek raasta dhoondh rahe thei. Maine usko pooncha toh kaha
Ghode Road. Maine kaha yeh kaunsa raasta hai bahi? Tabhi usne kaha ki Ghode
road hai aas pass. Main socha ki agar hai toh theek hain, madad karun.
Abhijeet- Aur tum yaha se chale gaye? Ain!
(Exasperated)
Guard- Maine socha...
Abhijeet- Bandh karo maine socha maine socha.
Ab dekhao saab ki flat. Chal!
SCENE 12
At the hospital Daya enquires and finds
out that Amal had come to a Dr. Pranjal. Daya asks the receptionist to call the
doctor. Minutes later Dr. Pranjal comes in.
Daya- Kya yeh aadmi aapke pass aaya tha?
(Shows the photo)
Pranjal- Haan. Aaya toh tha! Bahut hi ghayal
hua tha. Maine kaha ki yaha pe thodi dere ruko. Tabiyeth kharaabh toh tha.
Magar usne kaha ki uski biwi ghar pe aur zyaada ghayal hai. Maine police aur
ambulance help offer ki lekin usne apne biwi ke liye dawai lekar chaahthei.
Kahaa ki mission bahut hi dangerous hai. Mujhe kuch nahi samajh aaya...
Daya- Toh usko ruka kyon nahi?
Pranjal- Bahut hi koshish ki. Lekin uska zid
bahut hi majboot hai. Saalon se jaanta hoon usko...
Daya- Toh police ko batana chaahiye tha!
Kyon nahi bataye?
Pranjal- Usne mana kiya tha. Kaha ki CID ko
pata chal gaya hai.
Daya thinks to himself that maybe while
he and Abhijeet were tending to Vrinda, Amal came and then left for his wife.
Thanking the doctor, he moves away and calls Abhijeet.
The phone rings. Abhijeet is at the
door of the flat. He takes the call while the building secretary opens the
door.
'Haan Daya?'
Daya tells him.
Abhijeet rushes into the flat. Minutes
later Daya asks 'Boss?'
Abhijeet's voice comes up- Boss.
Yahaa pe gadbad hai... My god. Daya. Amal aur Sunila are no more.
SCENE 13
There is a deep silence in the flat.
Abhijeet, Daya, Acp, Shreya, Purvi, Freddy, Sachin and Vineet are searching
around. Salunkhe and Vijay are examining the bodies. Sunila is lying dead in
the dining hall, a knife beside her. Amal is lying dead near the front door.
Around them the flat lies in shambles, as if someone had searched the flat.
There are signs of fights as well. Abhijeet and Daya are pretty upset. Acp
glances at them and then a photo frame catches his eye. He remembers Vrinda and
feels sad. Purvi and Shreya are looking for clues in the bedroom. Sachin
searches the kitchen. Vineet looks through the hall. Freddy looks at the living
room and then starts taking pictures. The air of sadness and silence engulfed
the whole room and Salunkhe feels it. He looks around.
Acp- Haan Salunkhe?
Salunkhe- Boss. Sunila ko chaaku se maara gaya
tha. Mujhe lagta hai ki ussi chaaku se Amal ghayal hua tha. Sunila ki mauth
kariban subhei saare saath baje hui aur uski mauth ki vaja hai blood loss. Aur
Amal ki mauth hua kareeban saare egaara bajei. Uska mauth hua jab kissi ne usko
ek bhaari cheez ke saath sir pe jor se maara.
Acp sadly shakes his head. The whole
situation is nearly clear to him.
He analyses- So iska matlab hai ki
kissi ne kareeban saare saath ki aas pass security guard ko bhaga diya aur ghar
mein ghussa. Uske baad Sunila ki par humla hua. Shayad tab Vrinda school jaane
ke liye taiyaar ho rahi thi. Kissi na kissi tarase, ghayal hokar, Amal ussi
secret information ko cchupa diya aur beti ki saath bhaag gaya. Kutta ko bhi
saath le gaye.
Salunkhe- Ghar mein kutta tha? Toh ho sakta hai
kutte ne kaat liya ho uss aadmi ko?
Acp- Ho sakta hai. Lekin kutte par koi
ghayal hone ka nishaan nahi mila. (He continues analysing) Uske baad shayad yeh
attacker yah ape ruk gaye. Jab pati apni pati ke liye waapus aaye tabhi usko
maara gaya tha. (Scratching his forehead) Bechara. Bechari. Yeh dono kitna kiya
humaarei desh ke liye, Salunkhe...
Salunkhe nods silently and announces
that the couple must have been tortured.
Acp- Ab humaare gavah hi bata sakta hai.
SCENE 14
Vrinda is sleeping on top of
Rocker. Aina has brought the child to Diya's place. They both have learnt about
the fate of the child's parents, and are really upset as they observe the
suddenly newly turned orphan.
Acp, Abhijeet, Daya and Freddy reach
the place to see the child. On seeing her sleeping, Acp turns to Aina and gently
requests her to wake her up. Aina protests but Diya tells her that time was
running out and the killer has to be brought to justice. Aina reluctantly goes
to wake Vrinda up. On seeing Abhi and Daya, the child leaps up and rushes to
them. The officers kneel down to her as she excitedly asks about her parents.
The duo look at each other and then at Acp. Acp gets saddened, sighs and then
looks at Rocker. Stroking the dog's head, Acp tries to see any mark of blood
and finds something in between the ears. Whispering to Freddy, he instructs
that the dog be taken to Salunkhe later. Freddy nods.
Acp then breaks the uncomfortable
silence by going forward to the child and kneeling beside her. The duo being
silent, Vrinda turns to Acp, her finger in her mouth. Acp smiles at her and
gently takes her hand and asks her about her health. The child shyly looks at
others around her. Acp smiles and asks her about whether she had food yet. The
child nods and suddenly turns to the duo again.
Vrinda- Mummy papa kaha hai? Mujhe ghar jaana
hai!
Abhijeet-(with all his courage) Beta. Abhi tum
unke pass nahi jaa sakte ho...
Vrinda- Kyon?
Daya- (Trying to be calm) Beta. Abhi tum
Aina massi ke pass ruko!
Vrinda bursts into tears- Mummy papa
upar chalein gaye na?
The duo get startled. Acp shuts his
eyes. Freddy, Diya and Aina become misty eyed.
Abhijeet takes the child in his arms,
comforting her. Daya consolingly takes her little hand. And Acp Pradyuman gets
up, his hands in his pockets, his expression that of a glare.
He angrily thinks to himself-
Jab iss khooni pakdra jaayega, tab main khud usko dekhlunga!
SCENE 15
At the bureau, the whole team, except
for Abhi-Daya, is present. The child has refused to let go of the duo so Acp
left them at Aina's place. He has already tried asking Vrinda but could not.
Abhijeet has told him he would being the child to the bureau soon.
In Acp's absence, the rest of the team
has done some work. Sachin has collected the security footage of the housing
society as well as of the diner where Amal had met the Interpol man.
Vineet has brought the security guard to take the sketch of the man who whisked
him away.
Meanwhile Purvi and Shreya have
examined the tiffin box and the diary. In the tiffin box is kept a small scrap
of paper with a strange sentence written- Pickoo 325. The diary has loads of
teacher's notes written. On Acp's instruction, the page 325 of the diary is
traced and another strange sentence is written in through the notes of the
teacher. Deciphering takes time so Freddy gets busy with it.
Vineet brings in the sketch and has it
checked into the criminal records. A name comes up. Lambhu. A thief and con
man. Acp instructs Vineet to go and have the man arrested.
Sachin is busy looking through the
footage of the society. The footage is rather hazy, as if the security camera
has been tampered with. At 07.13 hours, four figures approach the lift and look
around. Their faces are not clear. They get into the lift. Acp realises that
the killer was not one but a group of killers.
Sachin then observes the diner's
security footage, where the Interpol man's face is shown clearly. Acp instructs
him magnify it more and have it scanned and sent to Interpol for further
queries. Hours later, it is found that this man is an Interpol officer called Mark
Shanington and he is in Mumbai at an undisclosed location. Now that CID has
come to know about the situation, Interpol has decided to let Mark come to the
bureau, escorted by the Mumbai police. Acp has sent Sachin to make the
arrangements and accompany Mark.
Freddy comes to Acp, having deciphered
the sentence, along with Salunkhe's help. The sentence is Pickoo A.W. 19N72W
Acp scratches his head. Freddy guesses
it to be latitude 'longitude cordinates. Acp asks him to
investigate.
Purvi brings in Rocker and informs Acp
that the small blood smear on the dog's head is of one of the killers. The
killer's hand must have been bitten by the dog. Salunkhe also has sent the
information that the knife is a kitchen knife and has two fingerprints- one
Sunila and the other a man, who is not in the records.
Acp pats Rocker. Shreya comes in and
says that the papers found on the desks of the dead couple have nothing
relevant. Freddy suddenly rushes to Acp.
Freddy- Eureka sir!
Acp- Kya hua?
Freddy- Sir! Yeh ek bank ka co-ordinates hai!
AW'. matlab Andheri West aur uss bank hai Lokhandwala ki Axis bank!
Acp- Good job Freddy! Lekin kaunsa bak
locker yeh to0h maaloom nahi... Freddy, tum aur Purvi uss bank mein jao aur
acchi tarase pooch taach karo.
Freddy- Yes sir!
He and Purvi leave, and Abhijeet-Daya
enter, little Vrinda in between them, holding their hands. Seeing the two
bachelors with a kid in between makes Acp sir smile. He thinks to himself- They
would make wonderful fathers.
Acp greets Vrinda and then gestures at
Shreya. Shreya nods.
Shreya- Vrinda baby, chocolate icecream
khaoge?
Vrinda nods.
Shreya- Chalo. (She leads Vrinda to the
canteen area of the bureau. Rocker follows.
Acp fills the duo with the progress.
Abhijeet- Sir. Jaisa aap kaha tha waise hua
hai. Hummei Vrinda se pata kiya tha ki kya hua tha.
Daya- Chaar log achaanak ghar mein ghussa.
Amal aur Vrinda karma mein thei jab Sunila ko chaaku se attack kiya tha. Sunila
ko Rocker bachaane koshish ki. Ussi dauran Sunila bhaagke kamre mein aa ke
darwaaza lock kiya. Uske baad Jaldi jaldi Vrinda ki bag mein suraag daal diya.
Abhijeet- Uske baad Sunila kitchen se knife
lekar apne aap ko bachaane koshish ki. Un logone Amal pe humla kiya lekin Amal
bhaag gaya Vrinda aur Rocker ke saath.
Daya- Jab khooni mere saamne aayega tab
meine mera gussa dikhanga. Dhoondh nikalunga uss chaaron ko!
Just then Vineet brings Lambhu the
thief in. Acp, Abhijeet and Daya come forward. Lambhu is trembling with fear- Arre saab! Yeh paalwaan mujhe itna
maara itna maar ki mera dam ghos gaye!
SCENE 16
At the bank Purvi and Freddy meet the
manager Mr. Rai.
Rai- Kya naam bataaye?
Freddy- Amal aur Sunila Prakash.
Rai- Hm. (Looks at his book of records)
Locker number... Locker number... Time lagega... Humaarein itne saarein
customers hai...
Purvi- Humaara time barbaaad ho raha hai.
Koi computer nahi hai kya?
Rai- O. Mein old fashioned hoon. (Fixing
his glass postion on his nose with his finger) Computer par koi bharosa nahi
hai. (Continues looking through the register)
Freddy and Purvi get exasperated.
Freddy- Dekho. Waqt nahi hai hummarein pass.
Jald se jaldi aapka computer dekh lo. Varna khooni ko madad karne ki jhurm mein
phasaonga.
The manager gets startled, drinks his
glass of water nervously and rings a bell. A peon enters and Rai orders him to
bring his secretary in.
Moments later a woman enters.
Purvi- Beena poonchhe, jald se jald, Amal
aur Sunila ke bank locker number nikaalo.
SCENE 17
After a slap from Daya, Lambhu plops
into the interrogation chair and starts weeping. Abhijeet reprimands him and Lambhu starts spluttering out, sobbing-
Saab, yeh sab paise ke liye kiya!!! ... Maine... Maine kuch nahi kiya!!...
Main... Main bas uss security guard ko kuch ghantei ke liye ghumra kiya!
Abhijeet- Chup! Kaun hai yeh aadmi!
Lambhu sobs.
Daya- (Putting his hand on the man's
shoulder threateningly) Bataaonge ya...
Lambhu- (Folding his hands) Batata hoon!
Batata hoon! Ek aadmi aaya tha mere pass. Kehne lage ki agar mein uske liye ek
kaam karun toh usne mujhe chaalis lakh dega! Main usko nahi jaanta!
Daya- Humaarein liye uss aadmi ka sketch
banwaao. Vineet, le jao usko!
Vineet takes the man away.
SCENE 18
Shreya brings Vrinda in. Vrinda looks
quite cheerful but quietly reserved. Acp takes her hand and makes her sit on
his chair. He takes a chair and sits down in front of her. He smiles.
Acp- Achha beta. Ek baat batao. Kya tum
pickoo ko jaantei ho?
Vrinda- Pickoo? Haan. Jaanti hoon!
Acp- Accha! Very good! Kaun hai yeh
Pickoo?
Vrinda- Meri toy.
Acp- Kaisa toy beta?
Vrinda looks at him puzzled.
Acp- Matlab, kaise dikhta hai Pickoo?
Vrinda- O! Pickoo ek bada tiger hai (Throws
her arms wide apart to show the size)
Acp- O... Itna bada! Arre wah! (Looks at
Shreya) Shayad yeh Pickoo hi hoga locker mein. Ussi liye un badmaash aaye thei.
Shreya nods in agreement.
Acp's phone rings. It is Freddy.
Acp- Haan Freddy. Hm hm. Accha... Wahi
hoga... Sambhaalke sab kuch ley aao... Theek hain.
Just then Daya enters. Vrinda gets off
the chair and goes to him, her arms almost around his waist. Daya holds her and
kisses her head. Acp and Shreya smile.
Daya- Sir, Freddy ko kya mila?
Acp- Pickoo mila, Daya, Pickoo mila.
Abhijeet comes in and it is his turn to
be hugged at the waist by Vrinda. He picks her up in his arms and hugs her and
then faces Acp, who smiles.
Abhijeet- Maine Raghunath ke baarein mein pata
karne jaa raha hoon.
Before Acp says anything, Vineet brings
in the sketch.
Vineet- Sir. Yeh aadmi bhi humaarein records
mein hain. Ram hai naam iska.
Abhijeet- Naam mein Ram aur kaam mein Raavan.
Daya- Abhijeet. Chalo, issko dhoondh
nikaalte hai.
Acp- Theek kaha. Agar Raghu babu ne yeh
sab ghilona kaam karwaaya, hummein pehle sab cchota macchli pakadna hai.
Sabooth ke saath phasaana hai. Dekhna padega aisa kya sabooth mila tha un dono
ko.
SCENE 19
Four men are at a small dhaba. One
man's palm was bandaged. His companions address him as Ram. Ram tells them that
the Boss is displeased that they could not find any file or package.
First companion- Toh kya
karun! Hum toh koshish ki!
Second companion- Toh ab
kya?
Third companion- Boss ka
phone aane waale hai.
Ram's phone rang. He listened, replied
and then hung up. He then turned to his
companions- Sheru, Birju, Monty. Ab hummei khaas kaam karna hai. Hit list
mein do target hain.
He tells them the plan. The men get up
and leave the dhaba. The dhabawala
quietly dials a number and said, 'Saab?'
SCENE 20
A hotel. Monty and Sheru come to the
reception. The receptionist looks at them suspiciously.
Monty- Hummein Mark ko milna hai.
Receptionist- Kyon?
Sheru- Usne hummein bulaaya. Boss hai
humaarein.
Receptionist- Boss?
Sheru- Haan. Usne kuch kaam diya tha.
Hummein uske pass report dena hai.
Receptionist dials a number, speaks and
listens and then gives the room number to Monty.
The two men reach the room, look around
and then knock on the door. A voice comes, 'Yes?'
Monty-Room service!
Mark opens the door. Sheru and Monty
quickly take out their knives and force their way in.
Mark- W-what... W-who are you?
Sheru- Tera mauth!
Monty and Sheru laugh and advance
towards Mark, when suddenly their knives get knocked out. Sachin puts a gun to
Monty's head and Vineet puts a gun to Sheru's head.
Freddy smirks, standing in front of Mark, his gun pointing at the
two goons- Bacche. Tera khel khatam!
SCENE 21
Vrinda and Rocker are at Shreya's
house. Purvi is helping Shreya lay the table. It is night, an end to a hectic
day.
Shreya- Purvi, locker mein kya tha?
Purvi- Pickoo tha, aur kuch files vagera
tha.
Shreya- Uss khilona mein cchupa rakha hua
suraag kya tha?
Purvi- Pendrive, CD aur kuch codes jo
decoded hai.
Shreya- Hm...
Just then Purvi's phone rings. She
answers and almost screams- Kya?! O my god! Main abhi aati hoon! Theek hain!
Shreya- Kya hua?
Purvi- Mujhe jaana hai!
Shreya- Main aaoo tumhaare saath?
Purvi- Bacchi ka kaun khayal rakhegi?
Shreya- Kuch nahi hoga. Bahar security guard
hai aur andar kutta bhi hai.
Purvi- Theek hai chalo!
The house is silent when Vrinda comes
out of her room. She looks around and sees no one. Scared, she almost starts
crying. 'Abhi uncle! Daya Uncle!' She goes around the house. Rocker comes up to
her and she hugs the dog fearfully. Looking around, she finds a corner to sit
at.
The door clicked open, and two figures
enter.
The child gets excited- Abhi
Uncle! Daya Uncle!
Running from her corner she bumps into
two men and looks up. Her smile vanishes. Screaming, she runs to her dog who
growls.
Ram- Arre bachi! Acchi bacche rhotei nahi
hai1
Birju- (Flicking out his knife) Iss kutta ko
yahi pe katam kartei hai.
Ram- Uss kutte ko maine khatam karunga!
Pehle bacchii ko hatao.
Birju- Aao bacchii! Mummy papa ke pass jaana
hai na?
The child looks scared.
Birju- Chalo. Mummy papa ne mujhe kaha ki
main tumhe lene aaoo.
Ram- (His knife in his hand) Chalo..
The two men advance slowly, their eyes
on Rocker. The dog's growls grow louder. Suddenly he leaps at them. Ram's knife
slashes through the dog's front foot. With a yelp, the dog falls down. Trying
to get up, he attempts to bite. Ram turns to the helpess animal.
Vrinda screams and tries to go to the
dog but Birju catches her. Holding her, he raises his hand held knife.
With a very sudden movement four people
attack the two men.
Purvi and Shreya disarm Ram, kick him
in the stomach and guts, and knock him down to the floor. While Purvi points
the gun at Ram, Shreya immediately tends to Rocker, who falls down.
Simultaneously, Daya's hand catches
hold of Birju's knife and Abhijeet frees the child and slaps Birju. Birju falls
down and Daya points the gun at him. Abhijeet holds the crying child in his
arms and comforts her.
SCENE 22
Mark is in Acp's cabin. Around, the
whole team stands. On the table lie the contents of the bank locker.
Mark- Thank you for saving my life.
Acp- Dus baar thank you kehe chuke ho. Ab
bandh karo.
Mark- How is the child?
Abhijeet- She is doing okay.
Mark- Okay... Thank god!
Daya- Mark ji. Zara hummei bataye ki why
you ask a common man to help you, and not the Mumbai police/
Mark- But he is an experienced
cryptologist!
Acp- Mark. He has retired. He has even
stopped work for CBI. You have endangered a common man's life.
Mark- I am sorry, Acp. But main kya karu? I
wanted help in nabbing the criminal.
Abhijeet- Ek mamuli cryptologist se help?
Mark- Par he is an investigative
journalist!
Daya- Phir bhi Mark, phir bhi. Aisa
khatarnak mujhrim ki khilaafh you have forced him to work. And you didn't
even protect him!
Mark looks away.
Acp- Till we catch the mastermind, we will
keep you in custody for protection.
Mark- Acp. Did you find the evidence that
they collected?
Abhijeet- Tumhara saamne hai.
Mark- Okay! Thanks for your protection!
Acp- Vineet. Please take him to the
required place.
Mark leaves with Vineet. Acp turns to
Sachin and Freddy.
Acp- Tum dono yeh sab evidence analyse
karo.
SCENE 23
In the interrogation room, the four men
are kept handcuffed to the chair. They are bruised all over, wet and sobbing.
On the table in front of them are Abhi and Daya.
Daya- (Menacingly) Haan. Toh bataao. Kaun
hai tumhaara Boss?
Ram- Saab. Nahi pata hai...
Abhi- Par hummei maaloom hai. Mr. Raghunath
Baleshwarji. Hai na, ain?
Birju- Nahi sir. Unhe kuch nahi maaloom.
Uske naam mein koi aur yeh dhanda kar raha hai.
Abhijeet and Daya look at each other.
Daya- Matlab? Kaun? Kaun hai tera boss?
Sheru- Saab. Kaalia hummein sab instruction
dete hai. Kaalia uske liye kaam kartei hai!
Abhijeet- Kaalia kaha milega?
Monty- Saab, woh phone karega aaj, report
lene ke liye.
The duo look at each other and smirk,
as if to say 'Are you thinking what I am thinking' ' I think we are thinking
the same thing'
The four trapped goons look at each
other and then at the officers, terrified.
SCENE 24
The evidence collected from the locker
being analysed, Sachin, Vineet, Freddy, Purvi and Shreya cometo Acp and tell
him that though the suspect has been Raghunath, all the evidence pointed
elsewhere. This person smuggles arms, locations of important Indian places,
sensitive information and encrypted data to foreign enemies and spies. He also
has a hand in lots of terrorist acts in India. He also endangers secrets of
other nations of the world.
Acp- Aur aaj hum usko pakarne waalein hain.
SCENE 25
A man is waiting at a hideout when four
figures approach him.
Kaalia- Arre itna der kyon lagaya?
Monty- Phir bhi aaya. Paisa kaha hai?
Kaalia- Pehle bolo kaam ho gaya?
Sheru- Boss. Kaam toh ho gaya hai
Kaalia- Accha. Pehla kaam toh fail kiya!
Birju- Boss. Yeh kaam toda aasaan tha.
Ram- Jaldi paisa do aur hum yaha se gayab.
Kaalia- Itna jaldi kya hai? (He snarls and
laughs. Patting his own head, gives a sudden sharp whistle)
Four men with pointed guns surround
Monty, Sheru, Ram and Birju.
Monty- Yeh kya boss?
Kaalia- Tumhaara inaam.
Sheru- Kya!
Kaalia- Agar kabhi police ke haathon pe phas
jaatein ho toh kya hoga hummein? (Laughs) Issi liye humesha chup rehna padega.
Suddenly a pistol fires. Policemen
surround all the men, and Kaalia looks around, shocked. Trying to escape, he
bumps into Daya. Daya catches him by collar.
Kaalia- Cchod do! Cchod do! Kaun hai tu?
Daya- Tera sasural! (Slaps)
SCENE 26
A sobbing Kaalia, his hand stroking his
hurt cheek, gives up all the information. The whole CID team leaves the
prisoners with the police. A battalion of policemen accompanying them the CID
team arrive at Raghunath's palatial mansion. All the bodyguards and security
guards are stopped. A few Interpol officers and Mark also arrive. A few
mediapersons gather around the gate with full anticipation and lots of
speculations.
Raghunath expresses surpise and asks
what the matter is.
Acp- Raghunath ji. Kuch log hai jo aapka
picche kuch ganda kaam kar raha hai.
Raghunath- (Shocked) Kaun?
Acp- Hawaldar Kumar! Le aao.
Kaalia and other prisoners are brought
in, huddled together like horriefied rats.
Raghu- Yeh sab kaun hai?
Acp- Ussi khooni ka aadmi, jiske verjade
aaj ek bholebaale bachi anath ho gaya hai, jiske verjade ek pati-patni apna
jaan desh ke liye khatre mein daal diya. Jiska verjade, Raghunath, aapka naam
Interpol ki Wanted list mein hai.
Ragunath- Kya! (Looks around) Manager yeh sab
kya hai (says to his manager standing next to him)
Manager- Mujhe kuch nahi maaloom sir!
Raghunath- Acp jee! Kaun yeh yeh
badtameez? Kaun mera naam kaala kiya hai?
Abhijeet- Kaalia. Zaraa unko batao kaun hai
woh.
Kaalia seems hesitant.
Daya- Suna nahi unhone kya kaha?
Terrified, Kaalia looks past Raghunath.
By the Raghunath's family members come forth. Kaalia goes forward.
Acp- Dekh Kaalia, Jhooth bhi mat bolo, koi
chaalaki bhi mat karo. Hummei sab pata hai.
Kaalia looks terrified and suddenly
rushes to two of the family members. Touching a man's feet, Kaalia sobs- Saab mujhe bachao, saab!
Raghunath- Prabhanand? Tu?
(Turns to Acp) Prabhu toh mera bhai hai!
Prabhanand gets angry- Mujhe
kyon phasa rahe ho! (Kicks Kaalia away) Bhaiiya... (Goes to Raghunath, and very
suddenly ponts a pistol at his head)
Raghunath- Prabhu! Yeh kya...
Isska matlab waakeyi tum...
Prabhu- Chup! (Looks at Acp) Haan. Maine yeh
sab karwaaya.
Prabhu's wife comes forward and points a pistol at Kaalia- Aur tu! Tu hummein dhoka diya! Sharam nahi aaye! Tujhe toh pehle
se khatam karna chaahiya tha.
Acp glances at his team, as if
excpecting this move. The other family members, gasping with shock and awe move
back. Stealthily Shreya and Sachin raise their pistols. Sharing synchronised glances,
they fire. Immediately Abhijeet catches hold of Prabhanand's collar and Purvi
catches the wife's arm. Abhijeet and Purvi slap respectively.
SCENE 27
At the bureau, Prabhanand and his wife
are sitting at the interrogation room, their statements being recorded. They
confess that in the past they had fallen on bad time, and owed an international
terrorist gang a huge favour. In the pretense of helping out in
Raghunath's business, they have infiltrated criminals into the business, and
have successfully carried on a treaty with the terrorists in return of large
profits.
Acp is disgusted. He oders Sachin and
Vineet to have all the connected people arrested. He snaps at Prabhu- Gaddari! Uske liye sirf ek hi saza hota hai!
Phaansi! Deshi ki khilaafh, kanoon ki khilaafh! Ley jao yeh dono ko.
Soon newspapers and news channels
spread the information. A brewing storm of debates and public anger come about.
The whole issue entered the Indian government's hands and CBI, Interpol, FBI
all got together to decide and tackle the terrorists.
SCENE 28
A month has passed by. Acp is enjoying
his late Sunday brunch when Salunkhe arrives.
Salunkhe- Hello boss!
Acp- Arre Salunkhe? CChutti manane ke liye
ek mahin tak na koi phone na koi khabar?
Salunkhe laughs. The two cronies sit
down relaxing in the lounge. As they laugh away, Salunkhe sudeenly blurts out.
Salunkhe- Arre, woh Vrinda ko kya hua?
Acp smiles, a twinkle in his eye-
Guess?
Salunkhe- Arre yaar batana!
Acp- Abhijeet has adopted her.
Salunkhe- Kya! Yeh toh bahut hi sweet kahabar
hai! Aur woh Rocker? Kya woh bach gaye?
Acp- Daya ke pass rehte hai! Salunkhe, the
whole team now usually spends evenings with her! Freddy uske liye wife ki
banayi hui khana laatei hai, Purvi aur Shreya uske liye kitab laatein hain.
Sachin aur Vineet kheltein hain uske saath. Aur jab hum sab duty pe tab Aina
usko dekhbhal kartei hai. Daya aur Diya usko jaan se pyaar kartei hai. Aur
Abhijeet? Apni beti jaisi paalti hai. Suhaani ko miss kartei hai aur mila ek
bachi.
Salunkhe- Wah bhai wah! Toh chalo?!
Acp- Kaha? Bureau?
Salunkhe- Arre boss, tu bhi na kabhi nahi sudhroge!
Arre Vrinda ke pass!
(The two laugh, and Acp agrees provided
Salunkhe joins work the next day.)
