@Sam : I know where Yash is coming from. It is admirable that he is doing his duty as a son without questioning or complaining.
Don't we know how idealistic he is and how he follows the "CODE of LIVING LIFE PERFECTLY" (except for a few aberrations he has done just that)

But he is setting the standard too high for anyone to follow. Even his kids.

There will forever be that pressure on the kids, they will forever take the longer harder route at doing things becoz they would judge everything by the standard set my their parents.

How can Yash not fight for what is his?

Is standing up for your rights wrong
I don't think anyone would have questioned his claim had he just asked for it. Which he did not (REAL DUMB) which takes meaningless self sacrifice to a new level of stupidity.

BTW, the only thing I love about what Aakash did was when he takes Yash belongings!!
This means, we will definitely see Yash with his new sets of clothes!! Wonder why he always wear the same shirts form the past days, maybe he will used the new one for this coming episodes... 😳

@Deepti: Well, it really depends on how you look at it. Is his right over material things worth fighting for at this point? Or is it more important to him that he support Gayatri in making Akash feel like he is not being cheated out of his rights? Yash is fighting for what is his by asserting the right to sacrifice for Gayatri. He even used the word "haq" in this context. His "sacrifice" is not meaningless because, leaving Akash aside, it results in his own peace of mind. His sacrifice was for Gayatri, himself and his kids, not for Akash so even if Akash has no good intentions, I can't see Yash's actions as meaningless. Why should you set your standards by other people? Why should Yash let Akash define what is important to him and what he fights for?

As for the kids, from personal experience, at one point they may resent their parents for being so honest and good and feel like everyone takes advantage of them. But as you grow up, you do realise the value of having such parents and you learn to respect their infinite patience with less generous people rather than resenting it, because you realise that they are secure in who they are and their peace of mind doesn't depend on others.

@ angake - aww, thanks for your comments on my take and your kind words. 😳

Absolutely agree that many of us are oversimplifying their personalities. Mahaanta is part of it but there is so much more involved in their thought processes.

I am glad you liked the Yashness term. I also like to use another from time to time: the Yash-factor. 😉

As for what you said here:

Few days back I was mentioning this to a friend that I think that Akash is being presented with two forces: Ishita on one side offering him means for instant gratification and Yash on the other side offering him the means to achieve everyones love and respect through a difficult but in an everlasting manner.

This is precisely what Aakaash will gravitate towards eventually because his main grudge against SP is due to the taunts and lack of respect he had from people growing up. This very respect is what he craves most. Aakaash was meant to be Yash, a Yash to SP, and I believe that Aakaash ko bhi zindagi milegi dobaara. He will learn and live up to his actual name and make SP proud one day. I doubt the CVs will finish him off like they did Prashant because viewers would prefer a good redemption story. And in the end, when Gayatri will have two laadla betas, Prateek and Pankaj will wish they had two mothers!

And yeah, I don't think Aarti is listening. She's too busy trying to flick back the bangs on her forehead that keep interfering with her scenes! 😉

Sorry to butt in guys, but just wanted to say, re: the sentence in bold. It is quite true, at least it was in my case. I was raised by extremely 'aadarsh' parents and growing up, I always felt intimidated by their reputation of being so good. With time though, I've learned to accept that I could never match up to the impossibly high standards set by them and that in today's survival of the fittest world, I have built up a defense mechanism to deflect blows.
