Stages of Asya's relationship

Don't know if I should call it a relationship, but this nameless bond that Asad and Zoya have formed, has evolved to a new level now. Let's analyse from the beginning..

Stage 1: Constant bickering-- as they are polar opposite personalities with no middle ground or anything in common. They find each other annoying to no end!

Stage 2: Slight awkward attraction -- from the "catch and fall" scenes in the beginning, started the awkward attraction between the two. Also Zoya referring to his "six packs" indicated that she's aware of him physically. This is probably why they fought more, to overshadow this growing awkwardness that they both don't know is attraction.

Stage 3: Care and concern -- During/right after the Mangalpur incident, Asad showed obvious signs of care and concern for Zoya. Who can forget how insane he went when he couldn't find her! Zoya was also taken aback seeing a different side to Asad and didn't know how to react.

Stage 4: Denial about the "care" -- Freaked out by his own reactions in Mangalpur, Asad is shocked and fails to understand where all of that emotion came from! Characteristically, he coiled back into his shell the minute they got home from Mangalpur. To overcompensate for showing compassion in Mangalpur, Asad went back to becoming even more mean to Zoya and even distanced her. This revert reaction hurt Zoya and she decided to stick to her original opinion of him i.e. "Akdu Ahmed Khan"

Stage 5: Defying and reacting violently -- the minute Dilshaad was shot, Asad thought that Zoya defied him and she was to blame. And we all know his reaction in the fit of anger. This time, Zoya recoiled into a shell, purely because of pain and, on some level, fear.

Stage 6: Hurt, remorse and forgiveness -- When he realized that he was wrong, Asad went to apologize and, for the first time, he realized the extent to which he hurt her. Seeing her crying, hurt Asad on some level. He had crossed the line. He felt remorse and said sorry, she forgave him easily and there was calm lull for a while.

Stage 7: Accomplices -- Zoya came forth to help Asad investigate, this is when they formed a sort of a friendship, or at least an accomplice to get to their goal. Asad, for the first time didn't diss her ideas and actually started respecting her technical genius. It's obvious that Asad's opinion about Zoya changed a bit during this.

Stage 8: Unseen fear and uncharacteristic complying -- during some innocent bickering, Zoya's hidden fear for Asad's violent streak came out, which shocked and hurt both of them. To make up for causing so much pain to her, he uncharacteristically complies to her demand. Taking her breath away at the same time! ;) She feels a tingle for the first time!

Stage 9: No more pushing you away -- When Zoya tried to talk about emotions or family to Asad earlier, he used to shut her down. Being an introvert, he guards his emotions fiercely and never let his guard down in front of her (besides the Mangalpur incident). But now, with all that's revealed about Rashid, Asad doesn't shoo Zoya away anymore. Not when she comes to his room, shows concern and even tends to his wounds. Better yet, he even asks about his Ammi and talks about his feelings to her. Like it or not, Zoya is now on the inside of Asad's very private family matter, and he is not pushing her away anymore. From the precap, it looks like we have more of Asad not pushing Zoya away when she's trying to be his emotional support. He lets her sit there, the old Asad would never even let her come inside the room in the first place!

Whoaa. Notice the changes here! Slowly but steadily Asya's dynamics are changing, they are getting closer by the day, and it's soo delicious to watch!

Great post! I totally agree, their relationship has been evolving very steadily and nicely. It's hard to imagine where they were when Zoya dropped her ice cream in front of him at the mall and where they have come to now. I'm just loving how he's slowly opening up to her and not pushing her away anymore! He's going to need her support, especially when Ayaan confronts him about Rashid.

@Rhapsody-- Thank you :)
And I agree! Especially when he's all alone in his decision and his Ammi and Ayaan are on the opposite side, Asad will need as much emotional support as possible. And our Zoya is more than willingly giving it to him. Haye!
