there are worst lyrics than his and the songs he raps in bolly songs arent as crass..using this logic mny singers and entertainers should thrown outta their countries!! 😆😆

On topic: its sad tht the government is blaming these crimes on others than the sickos who do it !!

Other countries women don't face daily harassment at such a large scale than the women in India. US must have the worst songs, ie Candy Shop, f**king You Tonight - Enrique, Bruno Mars - paradise, but if a woman walks into a police station here, she's seen by the SVU task force, in India i say in half the cases, she's ridiculed. Rape victims are often looked down upon, such is the soch of the society.

@Meena reposting as i added to mine..I agree that abroad we are lucky that we are not scared to ask the police to help us and lucky i grew up abroad !! But point is people there blaming entertainers like him, blaming wornen on how they dress, going out late , partying..Etc..then blaming the sickos and the backward mentality !! Im just tired on the blame game rather than them dealing with the countries weak laws !!

Real question these politicians/celebrities should be addressing is how to give more power to the women, mentally. I read somewhere how women groups will meet police sgts monthly inquire about women reported cases. That's a positive step in the right direction. Celebrities/govt should fund these NGO's, give them more man power. The 90 day rape hearing is also good.

People and girls themselves on the street should address cat calls by reporting these incidents or making a big issue at the scene. Bystanders, other men, should not turn a blind eye.

A lot needs to be changed to combat this problem.

There are Obscenity Laws in EVERY single country. What constitutes obscenity differs from country to country but just because some rappers in USA sing obscene lyrics does not mean that we turn an indulgent eye towards the disgusting, perverted and misogynistic lyrics as posted in the articles. What next.. shall we condone pedophilia and sodomy and rape also in lyrics? When you live in a society you follow some basic diktats of decorum and civility in what you present to the public. And India has full rights to determine which lyrics and songs cross the barriers of decency.
Even in USA, In Miller v. California (1973), the Supreme Court ruled that materials were obscene if they appealed, "to a prurient interest", showed "patently offensive sexual conduct" that was specifically defined by a state obscenity law, and "lacked serious artistic, literary, political, or scientific value." Decisions regarding whether material was obscene should be based on local, not national, standards.

Couldn't agree more! If rape was laid on the foundation of dirty lyrics, the percentage of rape crimes against women/teenagers/children would be increased by a large scale. But that is not the case, words are mere words, it's the pelvic thrusts which commits the crime. It's pathetic how rape victims are looked down upon by society. There should no differentiation, like you and me she/he is still a human. If such mentalities exists how the hell would these poor victims be given justice if the people themselves stigmatize them.

True nothing wrong in that and agree his song like choot should be censored or banned as its bold and demeans women!! Im just appauled that he or other entertainers are getting blamed only on the problem but not society as a whole!!

For a country that claims to have the best traditional values, such high moral standards and calls other countries (US) as having no moral values, it's ironic how big of a mess they have to clean up here.

Ok, now all the patriots can jump at my throat.
