Chapter 16B: yeh dhoori hai ya majhboori...

Once that was done, Arjun voiced out..."Aisha ko bhi lagaa dho...bhoolna matth"

Shree smiled..."yes sir.."

Shree had smiled because in just a matter of few minutes, he had seen the ever fighting jungili billi and the sher khan of ETF showing concern for each other...and he didn't know why, he felt good knowing that!

Shree looked at his senior officer with surprise and Arjun muttered "kya??aise kya dekh rahe ho?"

Shree snapped out and replied "kuch nahi Sir..."

Arjun walked out and his eyes were scanning the corridor for her...but she was missing...but he was quite determined to talk to her before they left the place

He walked to her room...he too wasn't sure of what he should talk to her...but he had to...he had to face this challenge...yes it was no less than a challenge to tame this lady who wasn't sleeping but pretending to sleep and was quite stubborn about it!

He knocked the door "Aisha..."

Aisha, on the other hand was too disturbed and wasn't sure if she wanted to speak to him at that moment...She was feeling weak and vulnerable and talking to him at this time would only add to her miseries...Aisha had her own reasons and justifications for avoiding him...She didn't want any alterations in his life just because of whatever happened the previous night...she made up her mind that it was nothing but a mistake from their part and it was all a momentary thing...She wouldn't get carried away by it...

She knew that she would have to talk to him eventually as he was stubborn and he wouldn't rest till he completes what he intended!

She was packing her bag when she heard him knock...his voice shook her up from her lost self...

"Darwaaza kholo Aisha...mujhe tumse baat karni hai"

Aisha quickly transformed herself into the ever stern daring cop and opened the door

"haan boliye sir!"

Arjun was about to knock again when she opened the door all of a sudden...his hands stopped right on her face when she stepped out...He withdrew his hands quickly and stepped back a bit to let her out...It was quite evident that she didn't want to let him inside the room...

Arjun turned around and walked a bit into the corridor...He expected her to follow him but she stood right there at the door and urged him to go on "Sir, i am waiting..."

Arjun turns back and raises his eyebrows seeing her stand fixed in her place...As he glares at her for her arrogant behaviour, Sameer barges in "team, we need to leave right now..."

He looks at Arjun and then at Aisha...something looked odd to him but then he ignored it and behaved normal!

Aisha doesn't look once at Arjun and just sternly voices "yes sir..." and before Arjun even realized, she stepped back into her room to resume her packing!

When Sameer saw Arjun standing there for a longer moment, he enquired "Rawte, chalen?"

Arjun looked once to the direction of her room and then nodded "haan..."

As all came to the porch to leave, Aisha went towards Rathod's SUV...Without giving any chance, she just got into it...

The rest of the team came out and Arjun noticed what Aisha was trying to do...He knew that she was avoiding him...may be she was feeling embarrassed to face him...but was there really a second choice? Well it wasn't there atleast for him...He couldn't just walk off after what transpired between them...They had to face it some day...the sooner the better...he felt...

He turned to Rathod and held his hands out..."Rathod, woh ghaadi main drive karunga...keys dho..."

Rathod was puzzled hearing that strange demand from his second in commant but he didn't ask anything...he gave the keys and took the other SUV's keys from him...

Rathod had been noticing the changes between his best officers from the morning and he was sure that there was more to it than what met his eyes...But he decided to let it be for the moment and give them the space and time to sort it out among themselves! He didn't want to trespass into their life and unsettle it further!

Aisha wasn't expecting this move from him...She was startled to hear his voice coming from the driver's seat "chalen Aisha?"

Aisha looked at him angrily "sir aap?"

Before giving her any chance to get out, he started and zoomed the SUV out of the guest house...

Only then did he reply to her "haan main...tumne isske alaava koyi option nahi choda Aisha...We had to speak and there is no way i am going to let you run away from that"

Aisha replied back "I already said i don't have anything to speak!"

Arjun: [he was furious by her attitude] oh really? [but then one glance to her side, he felt he had to mellow down and take things ahead in a smooth calm manner] listen Aisha...main maantha hoom ek galathi hui hai humse...par usse bhaagne se accha hai ke hum baat karke uss galthi ko...

The word "galathi"...a mistake...it hurt her beyond words...well what else did she expect from him?...yes now she felt that she had guessed it right...he thought that he had sinned and he had spoiled her life...and all these caring words and consolations are just because of that...It was just a moment's desire...which was over with the night and now perhaps, he repented and was considering giving her a life to correct the biggest mistake of his life...granting a life just because of sheer repentence for a mistake he was forced into by her and by circumstances...

She was offended at that because it gave her a helpless feeling and a realization that he thought she needed that mercy, that sympathy, that life from him! And she wasn't begging him for all that...it would be the last thing she ever wants from him!...becoming an abla naari and pleading with him! That life would be worse than a nightmare for her! A death before death perhaps!

It wasn't her logical mind thinking all this...it was her silly ego and insane thoughts doing all the talking! And she sat there helpless without having a say in all those conflicts!

Moreover, she had a mission right before her which left her with less space for all such wandering thoughts...

Aisha snaps him short and shot back "exactly my point Sir... it was a mistake which we need to just forget and move on...ek galathi keliye aap apne life ko aur usske direction ko kyun change karne mein lage hai...I don't expect any such thing from you Sir..."

Arjun shook his head thinking to himself "yeh ladki paagal hai aur zaroor mere headache banegi!"

As if reading his face or hearing his mind voice "main aapke sarr ka dard nahi banna chahthi sir...so pls chill and get on with your life...aur mujhe apne haal pe chodh dijiye..."

Arjun: Stop this Aisha...i wont let you take decisions for our life...not anymore...did you get that?

Aisha: [sarcastically] "our life"??? no sir...its my life and your life...dono alag hai aur kabhi ek nahi bann sakthi...dont worry...i wont come to you for anything...I am not the type of girl who would come pleading for a life together just because of a so called mistake...

Arjun wasn't able to handle it any longer..."Then what type are you Aisha?? Ek raat ke...[he stopped short realizing that it would be rude...it was the first time in life that he was thinking so much before speaking what came to his mind...he knew Aisha wasn't in her sane state and so he had to be in control while speaking to her...so he just added] then why the hell did you drag me into all this dammit? I am not the type who would do that to a girl and just walk off without looking back once...i just cant do that...samjhi ya samjhaavum?

A long silence set in...she didn't reply...may be she expected a proposal from him, may be she wanted to hear him say that it was his love for her but he was too egoistic to even realize what he really felt for her and she was even more stubborn to just accept his unconventional decision to set everything right...she didn't want her to be a liability to him in any sense...

Arjun was plain confused about what was happening...but even amidst all that, he couldn't stop thinking about the irony...how close they had come to each other the previous night...no distance, no ego..nothing in the world stopped them or mattered to them but today, they seemed to be poles apart...so distant and far from each other that they couldn't look at each other even once for a long moment...She, who didn't have the heart to let go off him, was repelling him today...

The irony of their lives troubled him immensely and he couldn't even sort it out...

Seeing her silent, he also fell silent...but for the first time, their hearts were longing to speak out...they were pleading with each other to pour out what they really feel for each other before it was too late...

It looked like a silence before a storm but it just waded off without much impact...

He spoke up suddenly "Pari...mujhe Pari ke baare mein jaan na hai..."

Aisha was expecting this too..."I don't think its important for you to know Sir..."

He didn't react to it...may be he had expected that answer from her as well...

Perhaps she felt that she was harsher than what was required to him...well what was his fault anyways...nothing at all! And she was being rude to him for no fault of his...

After a few minutes of silence, she spoke up by herself "Pari meri sister ki beti hai..."

He looked at her in surprise for a second when she continued sensing his next question "woh ab iss duniya mein nahi rahi...she is dead!"

She completed it without any emotions attached to it...But he could feel the pain and sorrows which reflected in her blatant reply...He could see her invisible tears which she was shutting down not wanting to exhibit before him!
