Chapter 11A: Kaash aisa ho saktha….
Aisha's response to her confirmed that it was indeed her
"Pariii"….
Aisha's voice cracked a bit and he could see her eyes welling up as
the cute little angelic girl ran into her arms……Aisha bent down and gathered
her up in her arms and swirled her around…..the little angel giggled in her
arms and her laugh sounded like fresh rain drops drizzling...and her face was
like a pretty flower that just bloomed seeing its mamma...
Arjun truly enjoyed the sight….it was the most beautiful sight he
had seen in recent times……
A true mamma moment indeed!

Arjun couldn't ignore it and walk away just like
that….Unaware of himself, he stood there for a long moment when those cute
naughty eyes met with his…….there was a slight sparkle in those cute little
eyes which seemed delighted to see him……there was also curiosity about who he
was, perhaps…..
She enquired "mamma, woh kaun hai??? kya yeh
mere hone waale papa hai?"
Aisha stopped in her tracks hearing that and she
was shocked at the child's unwarranted question….Though it was a cute question
from an innocent child's heart, it was kind of embarrassing especially when it
was loud enough and Aisha was sure that her senior officer heard it as well…..
Both were equally stunned…Aisha snapped out and
hushed her up "pari…yeh kaisa sawaal hai? kahaan se seekhthi ho yeh sab bhakwas
baatein?"
Pari innocently replies ignoring her mom's anger
"maine na ek film mein dekha tha mamma….aisa hi hota hai!"
Aisha shuts her up, "Shhh aur ek word nahi
Pari….waise aap jaanthi ho na aapki mummy papa dono mamma hi hai…aapki super
mom, right?"
Pari: [wasn't going to give up so easily] nahi
mamma…aise all in all mummy nahi chahiye….mujhe toh dono mummy papa chahiye…..
Aisha tried to switch topics and she also
noticed that Arjun was still standing there…..She turned to Pari and introduced
him "Pari, yeh Arjun sir….i mean Arjun uncle hain…hello bolo…"
Pari: [looking quizzical at Arjun and then at
Aisha] Arjun uncle?? Matlab Dhruv uncle jaise??
Arjun noted that but didn't probe into it…"Dhruv
uncle jaise?" he hated comparisons! But coming from a cute little kid wasn't annoying
him at all!….
He just grinned at the little girl's curious
questions!
Aisha: [looking at Arjun to check if he was
anywhere near angry but was relieved to see that he was smiling at Pari] haan
Dhruv uncle jaisa….
Pari: Dhruv uncle jaisa ek toh hai na?? ab mujhe
ek aur uncle nahi chahiye mamma…..mujhe bas papa chahiye…..hum inne papa banaa
dehthe hai na mamma…..
Aisha flared up and kept her finger on her lips "PARI!
CHUP….BILKUL CHUP!"
Pari was terrified and scared at Aisha's sudden
outburst…..Tears rolled down her cute little face….
It was the first time that Aisha had lost her
cool to Pari…She was always utmost patient with her darling baby…..but today,
she felt a bit embarrassed hearing such things from her and that too when he
was around….so she acted rudely to Pari…..
Pari's tears made Aisha's eyes fill up as well, blurring
her vision and suddenly she felt the little girl being snatched away from her
hands…..she turned around to see Pari sitting comfortably in his arms…..
He glared at Aisha and shot out in a low voice "bacchon
se kaise baat karni hai, kya yeh tameez bhi nahi hai tum mein?? Kya woh bhi
sikhaana padega Aisha??"
Aisha sharply looked at him meaning "it was none
of your business…" and asking him to stay out of it but she didn't utter a
word….But her looks were no less than words and he could read every single bit
of it!
But he chose to ignore it for the moment…..he
didn't want to scold or fight with her before Pari..so he turned back to the
sobbing kid….he gently placed her down and crouched beside her, wiping off her
tears ….
Though he knew her name by now, he chose the
most conventional question to start a conversation "aapka naam kya hai?"
Between those sobs, came out a feeble yet sweet reply
"P..ari"
Arjun: [smiling] wow "Pari"…kitna pyara naam hai!…[when
he saw that there were tears still in her eyes, he added]….aap Pari ka matlab
jaanthe ho??? [She just shook her head meaning "No"…so he continued] Pari ka
matlab hota hai "Angel"….aur Angels kabhi rote nahi hai! bas smile karthe rehte
hai!
Pari: [looks at Aisha] par mamma….
Arjun snapped her short and tried consoling her
[In a kiddish tone…there was a tinge of
happiness in his way of talking which was quite new to Aisha….she had never
heard him speak like that so jovially and cheerfully] "aapki mamma mujhse se
naaraaz hai Pari….wahi ghussa aap pe nikhaal dhi….aap chinta matth kariye…Uncle
mamma ko acche se dhaant denge…phir kabhi bhi woh aapko rolaayenge nahi…teek
hai??…. ab aap bas ek pyari si smile deh dho….
Pari was forced to smile at Arjun's words and
his cute gestures pleading her to gift him with a smile!
Aisha who stood a little away was obviously
irritated but again, she too liked the way Arjun handled Pari and made her
smile…. Pari's tears were something that Aisha couldn't see too!
But soon the possessive mom took over…..She was
always against Pari getting emotionally attached to anyone else….especially
men!
She snapped the conversation between Arjun and
Pari…."Pari, apna gift nahi dekhna chahoge??"
Pari: [excitedly replies] haan mamma, kahaan hai
meri b'day gift?
Aisha: [smiles seeing her excitement] baby….maine
dho din pehle hi aapki warden aunty ke paas bhej diya tha…. ek minute rukho……abhi
laayi!
Aisha walks to the warden's room while Pari
continues her chatter with Arjun who seems to have started liking her and her cute
talks…
Pari: aap mere liye kya gift laaye ho uncle??
Arjun: aapko kya chahiye??? Abhi jaakhe le
aaavunga…..Woh kya hai na uncle ko nahi patha tha ke aaj aapke b'day hai…..aapki
mamma ne secret rakha na? [after a smile and a brief pause, Arjun asks again]
bolo, aapko kya chahiye?
Pari: ohhh…….mujhe na….mamma sab kuch le aathi
hai…..bas ek cheez nahi….
Arjun: aur woh ek cheez kya hai??
Pari: [her chirpy tone was filled with
disappointment now] woh….mere..P…[her words trailed off when Aisha called her
from behind…but Arjun could read it clearly…he heard Pari's unspoken words too…..She
was surely missing her dad!]
Aisha: Pari….yeh dekho…tumaara gift!
Pari turned and saw the brand new pink cycle and
her eyes lit up with joy……But before she rushed to it, she turned back to Arjun
and whispered in his ears
"aap na mamma ko matth dhaatiyega…..woh world ki
sabse acchi mamma hai…meri super mom!"
He nodded with a smile…she kissed his cheek and
ran towards the cycle…but turned back after 2 steps and told him
"Shaam ko mere b'day party hai…badaa sa cake bhi
hoga…..aap cake khaake jaana….."
He couldn't stop himself from nodding to her and
she smiled gleefully before taking on her cycle…..
Aisha stood there watching Pari ride away when
Arjun walked up to her….Aisha didn't turn to him..She knew that he was
there..she just spoke up
"Aap chale jaahiye Sir….main Pari ko samjhaa
dhoongi…..dont worry about her!"
Arjun nodded "hmm…"
There was a brief silence and Aisha thought that
he had left but soon she sensed his presence and turned around to him…..she
looked at him quizzical of what he had to say…..he continued
"Pari apne papa ko bohat miss karthi hai….agar
ho sakhe toh kabhi na kabhi unnse milwaa dena…..."
He turned to leave when he heard her respond in
a faint lost voice "kaash aisa kar paathi!"
But without another word, she walked away to
where Pari was busy riding the new cycle…He turned and stood there for a few
moments deep in thoughts about what she meant by that!

I know Pari asking her dad does seem cliched or the scene was a bit filmy...but trust me, it is a fact that kids need their dad as much as their mom...though moms handle then well and do all they want...the kid definitely has it in the mind about why the dad isnt around! here Pari has her peers who are happy with both parents as well...though she doesnt know what a dad exactly would mean to her, she definitely has the feeling that the dad's role in her life is absent...
I also want inputs from ur side for another main thing...Should Arjun stay back for the b'day party as Pari wished for?? or should he go back? ur opinion would decide the route of the next update...majority wins, ok? So all of u pls include ur reply in the comment!
