This sickening rapists deserved to be hanged 😡 and stripped off publicly for their deeds😡 I agree with Kareena these cases should be handled immediately. Its very depressing for a victim and her family to see her rapists going scot for their deeds😵

While it wouldn't be right to pinpoint all blame on item songs, but have to admit that one reason I get very irritated with the lyrics and vulgar dance thrusts is how they show the girls so permissive and willing to do anything, and as though justifying that women exist for sex only.

You can't blame films. The stuff that they show is all made up. It's not right to defend using films as a medium. Films showcase a million things, doesn't mean that it's true. They show righteous people does it result in honest men all over?? No.. films are mainly catered for enentertainment purpose

I don't think films and item numbers should share any burden of responsibility for such behaviour. I think that would over simplify the situation. I'll give an example..you don't have such item numbers in Pakistan and yet there is a high percentage of rape. So I can't see a direct connection between the 2. It all comes down to the need for strong law and order. Sadly we can't put a complete stop to rape...wish it was possible but there will always be a case of sick and twisted individuals. The best thing is a swift course of justice for those victims and severe punishment for sick minded people. Anyways nice to know that Kareena spoke on this terrible incident

Isn't that kinda along the same lines as women wearing short clothing should be the last to complain about rape?
So what if Bollywood entertains and tantalizes. Doesn't mean people should judge them for that art. I mean American movies have sex scenes, but that doesn't mean actors shouldn't say anything coz a few sickos are getting pleasure outta it. I'm a woman, and I quite enjoy watching dance numbers, or so called, item songs.

I preciate her stance and her being verbal about it, kudos!

I gotta agree about the lyrics in item songs though.
IMO appreciating a sex scene is not the same as appreciating an item number... the lyrics are excruciatingly come-on, and to an extent, they do encourage people to tend to judge women based on the amount of namak her body can produce.

"yaar cute hain, par namak nahin he"- an asshole dickface I know from university. And he's frikkin butterz on that background.

BUT, at the same time

No girl gives consent to rape. It is indeed called 'rape' for a reason, and excuses definitely aren't meant to be digested.

This expose made my blood boil.. its like the police is too lazy, so they're creating f**king excuses to allow everything.

It's as if respecting a woman has become passe.

I am not saying like that.My point is even if an actor comments about the recent rape case, there is nothing for people to feel proud of the actors like how generous of him/her to comment and support this cause.Because whatever Kareena or Salman says, they are going to get back to doing item songs with double meanings and degratory words used against women. My only point was there wasn't an article needed on Salman,Kareena or Kjo on how they 'spoke' about the rape cases.I think I posted in the wrong thread because I remember reading in the thread about Salman as to how good human being he is by talking about this case and stuff. Its just an opinion.

I understand S.B., but still I would t say that deragatory song lyrics can be put on the same platform as forced sex.

I'm against such lyrics as well, and in some cases they are sickening but at the same time, these actors should be allowed to condemn rape and not judged just coz they happen to perform in dance numbers that have stupid lyrics. I mean, an actor who portrays negative characters and villains in films can speak out against a violent crime, can he not? Or just coz he ACTS in such roles he should keep his thoughts about violence in reality to himself?

SB I agree with you partially...See every crime has two aspects...lets take rape...There is a moral/legal aspect...and the burden of the rape lies ONLY and ONLY with the rapist...I would say forget about dirty lyrics...no one has the right to rape a woman even if she is running naked on the streets at 2 in the night...
On the other hand there is a practical aspect of it too...How can we prevent it from happening...is there a way to not encourage people...because criminals do not think from the moral point of view...otherwise there would not be any crimes...my point is we can say all we want tht the rapist is responsible for the crime...would that make the girl who has been raped any better.?...that girl has been traumatised for life...it doesn't matter if u hang the rapist...so somewhere the society and the celebrities both have to think that is there a way to reduce the crimes...i know 100 % prevention is not possible...but it can be reduced definitely...
I really think these celebrities are doing a good job by voicing their opinions...because people listen to them...Thats the reason I admire Aamir Khan...because instead of doing some stupid game show on TV he did something that really matters to the society..
