There has always been some confusion regarding women centric movies in the forum .the movies which r considered women centric by some r not actually women centric so how do we actually define a women centric movie .
Karisma 's movie zubeida and shakti r onsidered as women centric movies but then Biwi no 1 is not women centric in all the movies story revolves around Karisma 'c character then y is Biwi no 1 not considered a women centric film .in all the films she had a strong role .is it just the theme of the first two were serious and the latter was funny so is it not included in that category ?
I think women centric films r those where the story revolves around the female protagonist they have a stronger role to play .can namastey London be considered in that category as the entire movie was based on Kat's life Akshay entered the film after almost 40 -45 minutes y is mere brother ki dulhan not included in that list .😆 even there the story's focus is more on kat's character than imraan
Konkana did such movies in plenty but they were all serious and poignant stories
does rekha's movie Khoobsurat belong to the list or khoon bhari maang
English Vinglish also joins the list but if say tomorrow Kat works in a movie called Hindi Chindi where her character struggles to speak hindi and is humiliated (just as in EV) by her boyfriend ,doodwala ,sabziwala ,jaaduvala .Then like shashi even she join some coaching class and start speaking hindi just as shahsi learns english in EV .Mind u this movie is emotional movie just like ev so will Hindi Chindi included in the list
lets talk about Vidya now her last two movies TDP and Kahaani r included in the list too infact she is known for such type of movies .In both the movies the story revolved around her she had author backed roles .whats the difference here .Is a movie women centric if it has a mainstream actress and new actors who r not A lister ( its only after TDP the so called BW industry realized Emraan's mettle and considered on par with A list actors .big PH like Dharma started noticing him and considered him capable enough of acting in their movie .all the big shots realized his worth after TDP) .Does Paa belong to this list as
how exactly can we define this genre can a light heart movie or comedy movie be included in it or its only the serious intense stories belong to this genre
