It's Bhau-Beej/ Bhai Dooj today (15 November 2012), a day when sister's put tika on their brother's forehead as a sign of love and respect. Siblings also give gifts to each other.

On this special brother-sister day we got in touch with a few TV celebs who talked about their lovely brothers and sisters.

Devoleena Bhattacharjee currently seen as Gopi in Star Plus' Saath Nibhana Saathiya said, "My brother is in Assam currently for some work, hence, I am missing him. But we did talk over the phone and I've asked him to shop for himself there. And though he is far from me my blessings are always with him and yes, my gifts are with him too (smiles)."

"I gifted my brother a lot of things this Diwali and since, he hasn't asked for anything this Bhai Dooj I won't be gifting him anything. But he made it a point to take some money from dad so that he can gift me. My brother is young and studies in school. He does this every Bhai Dooj and Raksha Bandhan," stated
Aakanksha Singh of Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha fame.

Arhaan Behl of Pratigya has two elder sisters however; they do not have the trend of celebrating this festival as he told us, "We just celebrate Rakhi. But, I make it a point to talk to them every now and then. So I spoke to them even today and though there are no celebrations."

Surbhi Jyotir better known as Zoya of Zee TV's Qubool Hai stated, "I am missing my brother today. And since I am shooting we did not have any special celebration as such but undoubtedly my brother is the best brother in the world."

"As usual my sister has sent me tika, some gifts and a chocolate. Apart from these things she also sends me a letter every year which makes me very emotional. I called her in the morning and wished her but I will gift her once I am home," averred Aniruddh Dave aka Indu Singh of Ruk Jaana Nahi.

The very bubbly Niaa Sharma who just got back after having spent some fun time back home told us, "I had lots of fun with my brother and though I am back and we aren't together on this festive day our feeling are intact."

We wish everybody a very happy Bhai Dooj!

Thank you so much for sharing!

There is a belief that a brother who has had a "Bhai Dooj" meal at his sister's house will never have a before-the-right-time death (akaal mrityu).
