A tagline of DABH is "sachha jeevan saathi ya joru ka gulam", referring to suraj. But is sandhya a 'sachha jeevan saathi'? She has proven the answer to be in the affirmative, and one example is sufficient here:
Love is often equated with sacrifice. In fictional media, like bollywood, this love is usually in the form of the so-called 'love outside of marriage'. However, love and sacrifice become truly synonymous in the bonds of marriage. This is because marriage is a binding contract that allows the husband and wife to share everything: a home, finances, family ties, feelings, thoughts, future, goals, ambitions, dreams, and I can go on and on; essentially they are sharing life itself! And when sharing is involved, sacrifice must follow. So, perhaps we can measure the strength of the bond between a wife and husband with the level of sacrifice they are willing to make.
So after that bhashan, let me get back to sandhya 😊. What sacrifices has she been willing to make? Well, I can mention only one, as it makes all other sacrifices seem non-existent; just like how the light from the sun makes the lights from light bulbs seem non-existent. Ofcourse, I am talking about her willingness to sacrifice that which is her most beloved possession: her dream. Now, if this sacrifice was made out of necessity, it might not have been great. But she chose to abandon her dream (as she explained to ankur earlier) because she acknowledges her duty towards her family. This is particularly noteworthy because one's duty towards their family is the most important thing to suraj; just as sandhya's dream is the most important thing for sandhya. So, in essence, she is willing to sacrifice her most beloved possession to share in suraj's most cherished values. This is enough to make sandhya a 'sachha jeevan saathi'.
Now suraj will be tested, when he will have the opportunity to show his willingness to sacrifice his good relations with his family, which could be the consequence of supporting sandhya's dream. But that's a topic of another discussion. For now, I just wanted to put sandhya in the spotlight (which usually is hogged by suraj, thanks to all the truly sayani ladies of the forum 😉 ). Be sure to comment and add your own input.
