Hey...

Firstly i wanna thank each and everyone for their valuable comments ... it's because of you all that I'm updating the next part soon ... and it motivates me to write more ... so plzzz keep them coming ...

Chapter 3

Arjun was brought back to reality by the commotion that was happening around him. He heard Chottu saying "What Ri ? you say we are your besties and now you didn't even tell us that you are getting engaged"

Riya: Guys I'm so sorry I know that I should have told you people earlier but I really didn't get time to break the news out to everyone" She holded her ears in an apologetic gesture and said " I'm sooo sorry "

Shree: That's ok Ri we understand that you might be really busy. Tell us who is that lucky guy ?????? one more thing is it love marriage or an arrainged one ????

Arjun thought he just couldn't breathe .

Riya: Well... you can call it both ...
Shree n Chottu: WHAT ????
Riya:Yeah actually me and Sid ...

Chottu : who is Sid ( When Arjun heard this name he thought ... oh no ... he can't be the one )

Riya: Sidharth Malhotra ...

Shree: You mean Sidharth Malhotra ... THE SIDHARTH MALHOTRA ... one of the top ten millionaires of India... ( After hearing Sid's name Arjun felt a tug in his heart ) ... but how do you know him ????

Riya: I and Sid we were together in college. He was one year senior to me and he was a very popular guy. I really liked him ... so i guess you can call that love and where arranged is concerned Sid went to USA for further studies and I wanted to be an officer from the very beginning. So he went for four years. Six months back Sid came back but i was not in touch with him so i didn't know that he came back but as you know my dad is a popular business tycoon and he was in Kolkata. Sid wanted to establish his businnes in Kolkata and apparently he thought who is better than my dad to start with. Sid is a very nice guy so my dad asked us to meet and he mentioned his name i told him that I already know Sid and I was ready for the marriage and my dad really liked him. He had all the qualities which my dad wanted to see in his son-in-law...

Hearing this Arjun felt as someone stabbed a knife his heart again.

...So my answer was an obvious YES.

Chottu: But Riya do you love him ????

Arjun looked at Riya in such a way that her answer could either make his life or destroy it . Riya looked at Arjun and they shared an eye-lock.

Riya just opened her mouth to answer when her phone rang and she excused herself and went out of the conference room.

Arjun was just waiting fdr her reply. He sat on his seat and closed his eyes and thought about what happened yesterday.

*Flashback*

Arjun again got a chance to be alone with Riya. After solving a case it was very late at night when Rathod said Arjun to drop Riya home as her house was on his way back. Arjun agreed to it . Rathod expected him to defiance but to his surprise he didn't even utter a word in contradiction but instead he just nodded his head and asked riya to take her stuff .Riya was a bit hesitant and was about to say something to Rathod but one look from Arjun which meant "Just-Do-As-I-Say" and she knew it was not a good idea to harp on it and didn't say anything and left to grab her purse. Arjun didn't show it but he was exhilorated. The journey to Riya's house was a very uncomfortable one. They were just silent for a long time Arjun wanted Riya to say something but she didn't even say a word and then Arjun couldn't take it any longer and wanted to break the silence and awkwardness and he even knew that this is the time when he should confess his feelings. He said Riya... and then she suddenly yelled "Stop ...stop ... stop". The car came to a sudden halt and Arjun was just staring at her she said : Sir, we reached and then she just got down of the car and quickly said "Good Night!" and didn't even wait for his reply and just quickly made her way back to her house and Arjun waited till she went in her house and shut the door. He felt so stupid. "What the hell!!!!! ARJUN SURYAKANT RAUTE couldn't tell a girl that he loved her !!!"But he was intended to tell Riya what he felt for her !!!

*Flasback ends*

Riya came back. But in the mean while even Rathod got a call and he said".Team we have got a new case. Let's go"

Riya:Sir what about my resignation ...

okayyy ... finally done ... I hope you all like it ... I'm sorry I know I again came back to the resignation thing ... but I promise in the next update the "resignation" will not there...

pehle arjun usaki feelings ko andekha kar raha tha...aur ab riya arjun ko andekha kar rahi hai...

arjun u are ACP Arjun Rawate...just go and stop her...and get back your girl...

Firstly i wanna thank all of you for the amazing replies ... I swear i didn''t expect this kind of response ... It's overwhelming 😊 So thank you all again ...

so here is the next chapter hope you all like it

Chapter 4

Rathod: Riya you know five members of a family are brutally murdered and as usual the media is blaming the police and the government. So we got orders from the headquarters to handle this case ... so i think this is more important than anything ... and we will even need your help so plz do co-operate...

Riya:Fine Sir, we'll talk about it later

Arjun thought that destiny gave him a chance by giving him some more time to spend with Riya ...

After few hours ETF solved the case . They found out that the head of the family, Mr. Mukesh Desai, who was a socialist and a politician too, was a very good person and helped a lot of people and was spreading social awareness too. But one day he witnessed a murder he wanted to help the person but it was too late as the murderer already saw him. But somehow he managed to escape from there and filed the FIR and one day he found out that the murderer was none other than his own brother Rakesh because the victim was having an affair with his wife. So he was on his way to the police station when his own brother killed him brutally.Rakesh was arrested.(Sorry I'm not good at thriller stories... just made an attempt ) Riya was disturbed by the fact that how can a brother kill his sibling.

Arjun had already seen soft and sensitve sides of Riya many times and he thought how sweet she is to care for everyone and she is a very sweet person. But earlier he thought that she was not brave enough and couldn't even shoot and her hands trembled all the time when she had to shoot. But all changed when she shot for him. He comforted her and the only reason he insulted her and persisted that she should go back to the research desk as she was a coward. But only he knew the reason he said all that. At the back of his mind he was concious for her. He didn't want to loose her. He hated to admit it but her safeness really mattered a lot to him. He was oblivious to the fact WHY ?????????

He thought it was just attraction. He can't deny the fact that she was beautiful, brave, honest to her work, dedicated, hard working. Even though she was childish and as girlie as she can and a total hygiene freak ... sometimes she was really immature and sometimes she said certain things that made Arjun think she is really mature...but there was something about her and he just termed it as ATTRACTION... and nothing else as Roshni was the only person whom he loved and no-onecould take her place. But a week ago when he accepted the fact that Riya was just not an attraction ... she was much more... and he felt that he no longer could deny those feelings.

The ETF went back to the office to complete the pending paper work and when they completed their work Rathod realized it was very late and it was not safe to send Riya back alone. He even witnessed that Arjun and Riya are not even talking though Raute never spoke alot but still he could sense that there was an awkwardness between them and they were sort of uncomfortable with each other nowadays. So he wanted them to sort out whatever differences they had. So he told Riya "Riya, can you somehow manage to go back home today. I'm sorry i don't think anyone can drop you home ..." He said this while looking at Arjun and almost challenging him to volunteer. He knew that Raute won't allow Riya to go alone as it was very late. His plan worked and Arjun said "Fine, I'll drop her."

Rathod just smirked and nodded his head and muttered "Raute sometimes you are way to predictable"

Arjun asked "Rathod did you say something?"

Rathod: No ...

Riya intervened and asked Rathod sir, but what about my resination ?

Rathod: Riya I'm sorry but commisioner sir refused to sign it. He believes that a marriage can't be a reason for a dutiful and a responsible cop like you should resign. you even started shooting and overcame yor fear and he even told that you are the best research specialist .So he told you to ponder over your decision ..."

Shree and Chottu were overjoyed after hearing this and Riya's heart swelled up with pride. She always wanted to be a good cop and wanted everyone to accept her just not as a friend but also an officer and her dream came true. She felt tears brimming in her eyes. She didn't want to show everyone that she was weak ... and sensitive yet again, So she fought back her tears and succeeded in doing that.

But everyone failed to notice the relief that had spread through ARJUN SURYAKANT RAUTE's face. He thanked God for the first time for giving him time. Then a thought crossed his mind but tomorrow she is getting engaged...

He was just thinking about that when her phone rang. It was her dad.

After talking for a few minuts she hung up the phone. Arjun tried to figure out her emotions by looking at her face. He could see so many emotions flashing. Happy, relieved, a bit disturbed , pain... Shree was just leaving and when he saw Riya's face he thought something

is wrong and walked upto her and asked "Riya is everything ok ?"

Riya: Well no ... I wanna tell everyone something ...

Arjun's heart skipped a beat thinking that what may come next ????

Rathod: Yes Riya ?

Riya: Actually my engagement is postponed to the next week.

After hearing this Arjun felt like almost dancing. He felt ecstastic.But only he knew how hard was it for him to supress that smile and act as if he is a bit surprised.But his smile didn't go unnoticed by someone ...Sameer Rathod afterall he is the chief of the ETF and it didn't need time for him to connect the dots and figure what is happening in Arjun's life. He wanted Arjun once his friend to live his life again. He saw the way Arjun was scared of her protection and when she was shot the way he carried her back ... It all was an indication...that his friend started to feel something for Riya... so he was happy for his friend that he would live his life again.

Chottu :What happened Riya? Is everything ok?

Riya: No its just that Sid has got a very important meeting in London... so he has to go.

Shree: Awww that's ok. Don't worry he'll be back soon and then he'll be all yours and please do punish him for making the most beautiful girl wait for him ...

Arjun shot a deathly glare at him and Shreee decided it's better not to say anythinig infront of this Samjhe ya ... Samjhaon He would talk to Riya later on and tease her ... They enjoyed the way she blushed like a schoolgirl and then later on tell him to shut up..

It was 11:55 pm and then then his phone rung. He thought it was a message but it was a reminder. It was 25th October which meant it was Riya's B'day everyone were so tired that they basically forgot about it. He didn't know why but he once got to know her B'day and just saved the date as a reminder. Incase he forgot . He himself didn't know why he did that but he was now glad that he did it .He wanted to wish her first. So he said "Are u going to leave today or not ???" Riya thought what was the reason for the sudden outburst. But in the course of time she spent with Arjun. She learnt that it is not a wise decision to ask Arjun anything when he is angry and she knew that she will not get a proper answer and infact get to hear "Stastically speaking Riya , agar officers idhar udhar ki baatein chodkar case per concentrate karein so case solve karne ke 18% chances badh jate hain. Samjhi ya...Samjhaun." So she decided to keep her mouth shut and just said :Let's go.

Arjun thought "Sweetheart, this will be the best B'day gift you have ever recieved"
