Welcome to

Zee TV's 20 Years Celebration

Come and join us as we embark on a journey of Zee TV where the channel would turn 20 years old on 2nd October 2012.

October 2, 2012 marks a significant milestone in the journey of India's entertainment space. On this day in the year 1992, Mr. Subhash Chandra pioneered the concept of satellite television in India and Zee TV was born! Zee TV will, this year, complete a glorious run of 20 years entertaining India.
Until the entry of Zee TV, the Indian audiences were dependent on watching content by the public broadcaster only (DD). But with this new paradigm shift in Entertainment, Zee TV introduced daily soaps with lots of glamour and glitz, movies and entertainment shows. This gave the viewers the opportunity to watch programs on the Indian TV channels round the clock. Well with 20 long years journey, the channel has introduced variety of programs, highlighting the social issues along with providing wholesome entertainment. This glorious journey included comedy shows, daily soaps, historical epics, mini-series, tele films, Hindi movies, mythological dramas, music and song shows, and cartoons.Let's take a journey back in time and find out the top shows that has rule the television industry for years together:

Brief History

Zee TV was founded by Subhash Chandra and was launched in India on 2 October 1992, becoming the first Hindi satellite channel. Zee formerly had a partnership with STAR TV. However, STAR TV ended their partnership with ZEE TV when Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation acquired STAR TV. Zee TV was launched in the UK in March 1995, which acquired TV Asia, the first Asian channel to be launched in the UK and Europe. Zee TV was launched in the USA on 15 July 1998.In the USA, some of Zee TV programmes are subtitled in English and some commercials are in English. An HD feed first became available in India, Zee TV HD launched in the US on September 5, 2012 on Dish Network. Zee TV HD became the first South Asian Channel to launch in HD in the USA and left Sony, Star and Colors far behind.
In December 1994, Zee TV also launched a sister channel called El TV. It was an entertainment channel initially. However it could not gain much popularity and around 1997-98, it was converted into a General Entertainment cum political News based channel called Zee India TV which in turn was converted into the 24-hour News channel (Zee News) around 1998-99

Zee TV's Memorable Shows

Over 20 years, Zee TV have aired over hundred's of shows on the channels and many of it would always remain our memories and heart. Lets have a journey back on some of the memorable shows that have aired on Zee TV regardless of their running span, story which had left a mark for us to look back at 😊

12/24 Karol Bagh is set in the Karol Bagh area of Delhi. The series premiered on August 31, 2009, and replaced the popular drama series Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyann. The series directed by Ravi Bhushan, produced by Sunshine Productions, is being shot in both Delhi and Mumbai studios. The story deals with the conflicts between today's kids' generation and their parents. In spite of having a different location and environment, the show is doing well for the channel. The success of the series, started the trend of many TV serials being set in Delhi.

Aandhi was a popular Hindi television serial that aired on Zee TV in November 2003. The serial was produced by Manish Goswami. It was based on the concept of how a mistaken identity can bring ups and downs in one's relationships.The story is based on the life of a girl name Chandni, who gets mistaken for someone else. Chandni is in love with a boy of whom her father disapproves. She leaves home and then her life takes a new turn. A friend of hers who's a young widow dies unexpectedly, leaving her child in Chandni's custody. The friend's in-laws, who hadn't met her earlier, assume Chandni to be their daughter-in-law.

Aapki Antra was a Zee TV soap opera which premiered on June 1, 2009 and ended on February 18, 2010. The story is about a girl, Antara, who is diagnosed with autism and who positively affects the lives of those she encounters during her life.

Aati Rahengi Baharein was a popular television drama series that aired on Zee TV channel on September 9, 2002. The story focused on the concept of unselfish friendship and emotional bonding between friends who are from different social backgrounds. The series was set in a Gujarat milieu.

Astitva - Ek Prem Kahani (Identity - a love story) was a Hindi-language soap opera that aired on Zee TV channel for about four years. The story focuses on the concept of women's identity through the character of Dr. Simran, who embodies patience, consistency and suppression in a subtle way. She is a gynecologist who enters a complex situation when she marries a man 10 years younger than herself. It shows the ensuing struggles in her life.

Banoo Main Teri Dulhann (English: I will be your bride) is an immensely popular Indian soap opera that airs on Zee TV channel August 14 2006 through May 2009. The series deals with the life of a small city woman, Vidya, who reaches Delhi after marrying Sagar, a rich businessman. This serial become an instant hit among the audience and brought ZEE TV up to a high spot, giving stiff competition to Star Plus hit show, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and other shows.

Bhagonwali is an Indian daily soap opera that airs on Zee TV. The series premiered on December 6, 2010. It is produced by Samidha Khalid's Creative Lab. It tells the story of Runjhun who brings good luck and fortune wherever she goes. However, her own life is riddled with misfortune and hard work because of her circumstances. This show went off air from 19th February, 2012.

Choti Bahu - Sinduur Bin Suhagan is an Indian television drama-series that aired on Zee TV channel and focuses on the youngest daughter-in-law, a great devotee of the Hindu god Krishna (often referred in the serial as "Kahna"). The serial also focuses on the vices of the Hindu caste system while glorifying the spirituality of the bonds of marriage. The series was scheduled to premiere on November 10, 2008, but was delayed until December 8, 2008 due to the "Indian Television Strike" that began on November 9, 2008.The show ended on 17 September 2010.

Chhoti Bahu - Sawar Ke Rang Rachi is the second season of an Indian television dramas series The series premiered on February 15, 2011 and currently airs every Mon-Fri 7:30 pm. on Zee TV channel. It focuses on the lives of Radhika and Dev and is a different story than the first season. It has a different storyline and even some characters except for Dev and Radhika which are played by Avinash Sachdev and Rubina Dilaik respectively.

Chhoti Si Zindagi later renamed Ek Nayi chhoti Si Zindagi was an Indian television series that aired on Zee TV. It was based on the lives of two orphan sisters, Isha and Ira. It was produced by J.D. Majethia's Hats Off Productions and shot in areas in Northern India like Kasauli, Himachal Pradesh. The series premiered on April 4, 2011 and starred well-known Indian television actors Pavan Malhotra and Sushmita Mukherjee.

Dhoop Mein Thandi Chaav...Maa also known as Maa is a Hindi-language television series that aired on Zee TV channel. The series premiered on January 12, 2009 and aired every Monday - Friday at 7pm. The series concluded on April 17, 2009.

This series was once considered as one of the best series on Zee TV however it went off-air just 3 months after it started. Reasons to why the series was pulled off-air was uncertain but according to the casts, it was definitely not because of TRPs.

Dil Se Diya Vachan is an Indian television series based on the story that showcases a powerful true life story about the deep love, trust, bonding and attachment between a mother-in-law and a daughter-in-law.It is a remake of the Tamil serial Idhayam which aired on Sun TV. The series premiered on Zee TV on October 25, 2010, and stars Neena Gupta in the mother-in-law's role and Vandana Joshi in the daughter-in-law's role.

This serial was a hit among the audience. Unfortunately, the creative team decided to pull the show off-air as the main backbone of the show, Neena Gupta aka Dr. Kalyani could not continue with the serial due to medical reasons.

Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyann (also known as Betiyann) premiered on September 26, 2006 and was directed by the famous television director, Rajan Shahi.The serial ended on 27 August 2009.

This serial was a success and hit among viewers because of the storyline and character portrayal winning them prestigious awards in award functions. This serial along with Maayka were under the banner of Creative Eye Ltd.

Ek Veer Stree Ki Kahaani... Jhansi Ki Rani is an Indian historical drama based on the life of Lakshmi Bai, the Rani of Jhansi, one of the leading figures of the Indian Rebellion of 1857. The series was directed Jitendra Srivastava and written by Rajesh Saksham, Ila Dutta Bedi, Malavika Asthana and Mairaj Zaidi. It premiered on August 18, 2009 on Zee TV with Ulka Gupta playing Queen Lakshmi Bai. It took a leap on June 8, 2010 and Kratika Sengar portrayed the Queen from there on. The show's last episode went air on 19 June 2011.

Kareena Kareena was a Zee TV comedy serial that aired from September 1, 2004 to 17 October 2005. To boost the show's popularity, numerous celebrities have also made appearances on the show such as Amol Palekar, Abhishek Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, and Rajeev Khandelwal. A spin off aired in 2006.It was called Pandey aur Pandey.Reruns air on Zee Smile since 2004.

Kasamh Se was a very popular Indian soap opera produced by the television soap queen Ekta Kapoor of Balaji Telefilms. The series premiered on January 16, 2006 on Zee TV and aired every Monday to Thursday 9:00pm IST. The story dealt with the trials and tribulations of three sisters, Bani, Pia and Rano. Kasamh Se scored extremely well in India. In 2006, it had 3+ TRP ratings, in 2007, 2+ TRP ratings and in 2008 after the 16 years leap it became one among the top five shows in the country. The show ended on March 12, 2009.

Maayka - Saath Zindagi Bhar Ka is an Indian television series that was aired on Zee TV from January 15, 2007 until August 14, 2009. The show became popular. The series was originally produced by Anjana Sood's production house, Klassic Productions, but was taken over by Dheeraj Kumar's, Creative Eye Limited due to high overhead costs and delays.Once taken over, Creative Eye replaced almost the entire cast of Maayka by ending their scene with a bomb explosion.

Mamta was a Hindi television serial that aired from February 28, 2006 to October 25, 2007 on Zee TV, about the universal theme of motherhood where the show is based on the story of a woman name Mamta, who is a surrogate mother of a child name Krish. After the birth, she has been told that her baby had died during the birth. A year later, she comes to know that her baby is actually alive, but she realises that it is not in safe hands. So she goes to unknown city, where she doesn't know anyone to save her child.

Naaginn - Waadon Ki Agniparikshaa is a Hindi television series that aired on Zee TV since October 11, 2007 worldwide. The show is produced by AK Films, one of India's largest media and entertainment company, based on an interesting saga of an ichadhari naagin ( a female serpent who can change form as desired). The series ended its first season on April 11, 2009, and is expected to return for its 2nd season within 3 months.

Rabba Ishq Na Hove was a Hindi television series that aired on Zee TV channel from October 10, 2005 to April 18, 2006, based on a triangular love story. The series aired twice a week when it started.The show is based on the life of Veera, an airhostess by profession, who lives in a company owned flat, although her parents stay in the same city. Her passionate, almost violent desire to be independent and her no nonsense practicality, that makes her capable of differentiating between real life and fantasy. The story takes a twist when Veera falls in love with Kushan, but Vivan (Kushan's brother) loves her.

Ramayan is a highly successful and phenomenally popular Indian epic television series created, written, and directed by Ramanand Sagar. The 78-episode series originally aired weekly on Doordarshan from January 25, 1987, to July 31, 1988, on Sundays at 9:30 a.m. IST. It is a television adaptation of the ancient Indian Hindu religious epic of the same name and is primarily based on Valmiki's Ramayan and Tulsidas' Ramcharitmanas. It is also partly derived from portions of Kamban's Ramavataram and other works.

Ramayan has now returned to Zee Tv in 2012 with new casts to re-create the magic the previous Ramayan had created and it airs on every Sunday's at 11am.

Saat Phere was a Hindi television serial that was broadcasted on Zee Tv from 2005 to 2009. The show became very popular and cemented Zee Tv's lost status and also brought its popularity back in channel toppers. Saloni is a young woman who has a dark complexion. The story shows how Saloni's courage and strength help her to come out of the shadow of her complexion and also undertake a journey to search for her own identity.

Sanjog Se Bani Sangini is an Indian television series based on the love story of Gauri and Rudra and how these incomplete people complete each other. The series premiered on Zee TV on August 16, 2010. But due to low ratings and high competition from Colors Channel's 10 pm show Uttaran and STAR Plus top-rated show Tere Liye, this show ended in June 2011.

Shree is a supernatural soap opera that airs on Zee TV channel. The series premiered on December 22, 2008 and airs every Monday - Thursday at 10:30pm IST. The series is produced by J.D. Majethia of Hats Off Productions, and stars Wasna Ahmed as Shree and Pankaj Singh Tiwari as Hari in the main lead.

Waaris is a Hindi language television crime drama series directed by Bhushan Patel that aired on Zee TV channel from July 28, 2008 until December 4, 2008. The plot is similar in quite a few aspects to the Ram Gopal Varma films, Sarkar (2005) and Sarkar Raj (2008). The series ran for a total of 64 episodes, excluding the 12 episodes that could have broadcast but were canceled due to the Indian Television Strike that occurred for 3 weeks long.

Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo is an Indian television series based on the story of an impoverished teenage girl who has to support her family. It premiered on March 16, 2009 and aired every Monday to Thursday at 9:30 pm IST on Zee TV. It garnered high TRPs for Zee TV. The series was supposed to be produced by Film Farm Pvt. Ltd. and was called Gauna until the writer Kamlesh Kunti Singh rechristened it. It replaced the long-running soap opera Kasamh Se of Zee TV, which was produced by Balaji Telefilms. The show was eventually produced by Siddharth Kumar Tewary of Swastik Pictures and won the Parivaar Award in 2010. The show ended February 2011 with Choti Bahu Season 2 taking over the time slot.

Hum Paanch was an Indian sitcom that first aired in 1995. It ran for few years before it went off-the-air. It returned for a second season in 2005 and was taken off-the-air again in mid-2006

Sindoor Tere Naam Ka was a Hindi serial that has aired since March 21, 2005 until April 6, 2007. Due to its popularity, the series is to be dubbed in Mandarin for scheduled airing in China as of 2007.

Preet Se Bandhi Ye Dori Ram Milaayi Jodi was an Indian Television Drama Series that aired on Zee TV that premiered on 20 September 2010 and ended on 12 April 2012 and used to air every Monday to Friday 9:30 pm. The show ranked 3rd in terms of gaining target rating point for Zee TV. The story was about a Sikh Punjabi girl named Mona meeting her dream boy Anukalp, who belongs to a Gujarati family. It shows their marriage, which has a chance of working only if their families stop fighting. The story expresses contrasting emotions of pain and pleasure in the uniting of two culturally dissimilar families each intensely defensive and uncompromising about its cultural uniqueness. In the larger picture, the story represents the urgent need for broadmindedness and co-existence in society.

Afsar Bitiya is an Indian soap opera broadcast on Zee TV. Set in Bhagalpur, Bihar, it is the story of Krishna, who rises from modest beginnings to a successful career. Krishna Raj dreams of becoming a block development officer (BDO). However, her financial status makes it difficult for her to afford a decent education. Her father, Vidyapati Raj, and family have sacrificed to make sure that Krishna receives the education necessary to achieve her goal.

Mrs. Kaushik Ki Paanch Bahuein is premiered on June 20, 2011. Originally airing from Monday through Thursday, the programme airs Monday through Friday as of 3 October 2011. Despite competition from the Colors hit show Uttaran and the Balaji Telefilms show Kya Huaa Tera Vaada on Sony TV, it consistently gains good average TRPs of 2.2-2.5. The story revolves around a upper middle-class Rajasthani joint family called Kaushiks living in Jaipur. The family members are Mr. Satyadev & Mrs. Bindeshwari Kaushik, their five sons, Ukarsh, Bittu, Shivendu, Aditya & Karthik, their five daughter-in-laws Gehna, Nimmi, Simran/Karantiya, Ria & Lovely, their four grandchildren, Gudia, Lucky, Bubbly, Anu and also Mr. Kaushik's mother whom they call Ammasa. Mrs. Bindeshwari Kaushik is the family matriarch who has made strict rules & regulations in her house & all the family members follow them.

Pavitra Rishta is a popular Indian daily soap opera produced by Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms. It started on 1st June, 2009 and airs every Mon-Fri at 09 pm. Pavitra Rishta portrays the simple life of common middle-class families of the Mumbai city and the day to day problems which they face. The story particularly focuses on the journey of two loving souls Manav and Archana. The show has been successful completed 3 years and is providing Zee TV channel with one of best ratings of all time.

Hitler Didi or General Didi(named on Zee TV USA) premiered on 07th November, 2011. It airs every Mon-Fri at 8:30 pm. The story is located in the backdrop of Chandni Chowk, Delhi. Zee TV expects to see a 60% growth with the new series.The show became an instant hit and was ranked 4th in terms of gaining TRP for Zee TV. It also records good opening TRP of 2.7 and always gain good TRP for Zee TV despite stiff competitions from Balika Vadhu of Colors TV and Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon of Star Plus that air at the same time slot.The show has taken a leap of 8 years. It is shown that Indira is dead and her daughter Indu is born. Indu will be same as her in attitude and behaviour. She will also act "strict" like Hitler. Indira's Lookalike Zara Malik Khan is also shown The series took leap on 3rd September, 2012.

Yahaan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli is produced by Rajshri Productions. It has received many awards in various categories in Zee Rishtey Awards. The show gained lots of popularity. The show is one of the most popular shows in the television industry. It was ranked 2nd in terms of gaining TRP after Pavitra Rishta on the same channel when started. It airs every Mon-Fri 8:30pm on Zee TV. The Thakur family is forced to leave Swarn Bhavan by the Thakur's driver's son, Jagmohan Prasad, and they now live in a small house in Ujjain. The Thakur's youngest daughter, Swarn Abha, is forced to work as an employee in Swarn Bhavan to bring in money for her family where Jagmohan's youngest son, Karan Prasad, falls in love with her.

Phir Subah Hogi is an Indian soap opera series that currently airs on Zee TV, about the Bediya community of Bundelkhand region, Madhya Pradesh. It premiered on April 17, 2012. It airs every Mon-Fri 9:30 pm. It is being shot in Wai village near Mahabaleshwar.

Punar Vivah premiered on 20 February 2012 and replaced Bhagonwali-Baante Apni Taqdeer. It airs every Monday to Friday at 10:30 pm(IST). The show is currently the second most popular show of Zee TV first being Pavitra Rishta. The show receives tough competition from Balaji Telefilms show Bade Achhe Lagte Hain which airs on Sony TV at the same time. The show is currently dubbed in Telugu and broadcasted by Zee Telugu as Punar Vivaaham. Punar Vivah is the story of two individuals, Aarti and Yash and is set in the Indian city of Bhopal in the state of Madhya Pradesh. Aarti is a divorcee with a son, Ansh. Yash is a widower with two daughters, Payal and Palak. It has been four years since Aarti's husband left her. Yash's wife, Arpita, died three years ago. Aarti's in-laws and Yash's family want them to get remarried. Thus the story around their life after their Punar Vivah(remarriage).

Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke is an Indian television series that started airing on Zee TV from 21 May 2012 and replaced the show Choti Bahu 2. It is the story of two cousins, Rachna and Gunjan, who become friends. Rachna is a simple girl, while Gunjan is free spirited & fun-loving. She came from Mumbai to live with Rachna's family.

Rab Se Sohna Isshq is started airing on Zee TV from July 16, 2012. It is being produced by Jay Mehtaa in Jay Production. The show replaced the popular and long running serial Yahan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli.Rab Se Sohna Isshq tells the story of beautiful Saahiba who is in love with her childhood sweetheart Ranveer. Ranveer is a smart and carrier oriented boy whose dream is settling in London. Daljeet, who lives in the same village in which Saahiba and Ranveer's family live, falls in love with Saahiba at first sight. Daljeet also has a dream of getting higher education in London and developing his hometown. Saahiba and Ranbeer's marriage get fixed, but on the wedding day, Ranveer get a sudden job offer in London. He also get his passport and fly to London leaving Sahiba behind.

Coming soon on Zee TV is "Qubool Hai" staring Karan Grover playing the lead protagonist produced by 4 Lions Films on 'Zee TV'. The show has a Muslim backdrop and is complete family drama. It also has pivotal roles which is played by Harsh Vashisth, Vaquar Sheikh, Alka Kaushal and Tej Sapru. Surbhi Jyoti, a famous Punjabi actress would play the female protagonist.

Zee TV's Reality Shows

Over the years, Zee TV had broadcasted many reality shows with various concepts. Let it be mind challenging, singing or dancing, Zee TV had opened up the stages to many singers, performers and brought them to an all new level where their talent gets recognized and being for whom they are today. Lets take a look at the various shows that Zee has given to us over the years.

Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Series
Show started in 1995. Till April 2012 it has seen 16 seasons with 1076 episodes.From 1999 till 2001, the show was hosted by the brothers Amaan Ali Khan and Ayaan Ali Khan.
After that, Shaan started hosting the show. Later, the name "Sa Re Ga Ma Pa" became known as the "brand name" of the series and completely changed the concept of the show to include public interaction through voting. This was first done in 2005, when the old show concept was completely scraped and Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2005 was introduced.In February 2007, RealMedia - Zee TV in Dubai, produced and started airing Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Middle East - Pakistan Challenge 2007 for the Middle East and Pakistan viewers based on the original format of the show.
Zee TV Telugu has also started "Sa Ri Ga Ma Pa" in 2007 and run 2 series named "Sa Ri Ga Ma Pa Seniors" and "Sa Ri Ga Ma Pa Little Champs" and has started a new series "Sa Ri Ga Ma Pa Super Seniors" for aged group above 35 years.
Zee Marathi also has its own version of "Sa Re Ga Ma Pa."The last episode, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2007 aired in the year of 2007 and was hosted by Aditya Narayan. Highlights from Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2005 and 2007 are currently aired under the title "Rock the Dhunn".
The third installment Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2009 had been aired and premiered on July 4. Aditya Narayan returned as the host with three new mentors, who join Himesh Reshammiya.
Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Singing Superstar 2010 contest was won by Kamal Khan from Patiala.Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L'il Champs is children's singing competition and is all set to return for its Hero Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2012.

Dance India Dance
Dance India Dance is an Indian dance competition show that airs on Zee TV in the India, produced by UTV Software Communications and has become India's largest dance-based reality show. The show's title was inspired by Kannada film Dance Raja Dance.
The show first premiered on January 30, 2009, was created by Zee TV producers . The first season was hosted by Tarana Raja; since then second season it has been hosted by Indian television personality Saumya Tandon with Jay Bhanushali. The show features a unique format wherein dancers from a variety of styles enter open auditions held in Indian Metropolitan cities to showcase their unique style and talents and, if allowed to move forward, then are put through Mega-audition rounds of auditions to test their ability to adapt to different styles. At the end of Mega Audition, Only Top 18 dancers are chosen as 'finalists' who move on to compete in the competition's main phase where they will perform solo, duet and group dance numbers in a variety of styles in competition for the votes of the broadcast viewing audience which, combined with the input of a panel of judges, determines which dancers will advance to the next stage from week to week.
The show features a variety of Indian cultural and international dance styles ranging across a broad spectrum of classical, contemporary, Bollywood, hip-hop, jazz, Kalaripayattu, Salsa, Samba and musical theatre styles, amongst others, with many sub-genres within these categories represented. Competitors attempt to master these styles in an attempt to survive successive weeks of elimination and win a cash prize (typically Rs 50 Lakh) and often other awards, as well as the title of "India's Best Dancer". The show is choreographed by some of the most popular Indian choreographers, such as Terence Lewis, Remo D'Souza and Geeta Kapoor. The show has won several Television Awards for Most Popular Dance Reality Show.

The Cadbury Bournvita Quiz Contest
The Cadbury Bournvita Quiz Contest is an Indian quiz contest that began on April 12, 1972. Sponsored by Cadbury India, it is one of India's most famous quiz contests. Originally held live in cities across the country, it later became a radio show and then, in June 1992, a television show on Zee TV. Later, the show was shifted to another television channel, Sony Entertainment Television. The show is hosted by Derek O'Brien. The original quizmaster on the radio show was Hamid Sayani, a prominent Indian broadcast personality. After the first four years, Hamid died and the show was taken over by his brother Ameen Sayani.
According to the show's organizers, they are looking for children with proven talents who have been rewarded by their school. The children who take part must be able to present themselves clearly in Hindi or English. Also, participants should be able to balance their academics with their extracurricular activities. Each team consists of students from a given school.
The Bournvita Confidence Champion was organised in 2006 and the winner was Palak Muchhal (a singer) from Queens, Indore.The winner of Confidence Championship 2007 was a boy from Ajmer who won a trip to Europe while the runner up was Ritam from Kolkata.

Rock-N-Roll Family
Rock-N-Roll Family was a dance competition and singing competition show that is similar to the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa series, and it first broadcast on Zee TV, the date it first broadcast on is March 15, 2008 'til June 14, 2008. The 'Grand-Finale' of the show was held in Indore, Madhya Pradesh on June 14, 2008. It is first of its kind show that will target audience of all age groups and all segments of Indian society. Like from most of the other reality shows, Rock-N-Roll Family will be different because it will create a platform where 3 generation of family members will be able to participate. It will broadcast every Saturday and Sunday.
Besides that the families will have to perform different acts based on popular music on various themes. Judgment will be on the basis of scores by an esteemed panel of judges from entertainment industry and through audience votes.

Khana Khazana
Khana Khazana is a cookery show hosted by Indian celebrity chef, Sanjeev Kapoor. The show is primarily based upon Indian cuisine and has gained substantial popularity with the South Asian population since 1993. As a result, Chef Kapoor's career and reputation has skyrocketed. The show has completed more than 880 episodes being telecast non stop for 17 years every week - the longest running TV show in any category on any channel. Occasionally, Chef Kapoor brings in various celebrity guests and viewer recipes are also displayed. Over the years, Chef Kapoor has been more conscious and concerned about food-related diseases and has been cooking low-fat and healthy meals.

Antakshari
Antakshari has run successfully on Zee TV for over 10 years. Competitors on the show have included Annu Kapoor, Durga Jasraj, Renuka Shahane, Shefali, Rajeshwari Sachdev & Richa Sharma . Contestants have ranged from school and college-goers to housewives, professionals and celebrities.

Shabaash India
Shabaash India is a reality show that aired on Zee TV that showcased the record-breaking and unorthodox talents of the people of India. The shows presented different abilities of people such as physical strength, stamina, mental and paranormal that amazed TV viewers. Notable feats in the shows have been a man pulling a Boeing 737 with his hair, a lady passing 50 motor cycles over her stomach and a young man breaking 76 tube lights with his neck. The program is also an insight of how talented the Indians are. The show is hosted by Hussain Kuwajerwala.

Zee TV's Actors

Zee TV had not only made shows but they also made household names out of actors like Navneet Nishan, Niki Aneja, Mohan Kapoor, Divyanka Tripathi, Rajashree Thakur, Ratan Rajput, Sushant Rajput, Prachi Desai, Ram Kapoor, Ankita Lokhande, Avinash Sachdeva, Rubina Dilaik, Karan V. Grover and Suhasi Dhami. Zee TV's reality shows made the likes of Sonu Nigam, Shaan, Annu Kapoor, Pallavi Joshi, Shreya Ghoshal, Kunal Ganjawala, Geeta Kapur, Remo D'souza, Terence Lewis, Shakti Mohan, Salman and Dharmesh sir celebrities in their own right!

Over the years, there has been many shows and many actors who has been seen regularly on Zee TV.
Well the list is endless, but we are sure that as a viewer you might have many other favorite shows and lots of memories attached with Zee TV. Well no doubt that in these last 20 years many channels have come and gone, but Zee has always maintained high standards. Well it can be seen that Innovation and quality of programs are the foremost reasons for the popularity of Zee TV Hindi programs.
