'OMG Oh My God!' has a Fantastic week, inches Towards Superhit Mark at the Box Office

'When a film has to work, it will!' – Biggest and the best in the business, especially old timers have always maintained that but somehow the emergence of multiplexes had resulted in doubts emerging around this adage. 'My film didn't do well due to competition', 'My film was only multiplex oriented', 'My film was destroyed by critics', 'My film just couldn't get breathing space' – Many such statements are made by filmmakers (and quite a few times they are justified in stating so as well) when their films don't work. They are especially disheartened when the end product is actually well made. However, OMG Oh My God! didn't have to suffer this pain.

The film succeeded, and how, hence turning out to be one of those rare films where the weekday collections have surpassed that of weekend. Unbelievable, because the biggest of blockbusters can't sustain enough to enjoy even 50% of the opening weekend collections in rest of the week. However this Paresh Rawal starrer, after collecting 17 crores in the weekend, held on extremely well and garnered over 19 crores more in the next four days, hence resulting in first week collections of over 36 crores. Fantastic indeed.

This only goes to prove that this Umesh Shukla film has been loved by all quarters of audience and that too across most of the country, hence inching towards the superhit mark. While it is now a given that the film would comfortably cross the 50 crore mark, indications are that it could well top 60 crore mark, hence toppling collections of another one of the most appreciated films of the year, Kahaani, which survived primarily on the basis of excellent word of mouth.

Meanwhile less said about Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal, the better. The film has proven to be a washout and is a huge flop. In fact it is one of the most criticised (and ignored) film of Priyardarshan. With just around 6 crore coming in the first week, the film will end its run around this total itself.

OMG! Oh My God Has Excellent Eighth Day

Saturday 6th October 2012 10.00 IST

Boxofficeindia.Com Trade Network

OMG! Oh My God was excellent on its 8th day as it showed no drop from the previous day with many multiplexes recording better numbers than Thursday. The film collected around 2.75-3 crore nett on Friday which is just 30% lower than its first day albeit a low first day.

The film will be one of those rare films today that will show a less than 50% fall week on week. The only other wide release to have a 50% week on week fall this year was Housefull 2. The film easily beat the new releases English Vinglish and Kismet Love Paisa Dilli on its eight day.

The film has lost around 1 crore nett business in East Punjab circuit in the first week as it is not playing at many centres.

OMG Oh My God! Keeps Doing Well on its 2nd Saturday at the Box Office

October 7th, 2012 by MKS

OMG Oh My God! Movie Poster

After performing exceptionally well in its 1st week, OMG Oh My God! has managed to maintain steady collections in most parts of the country. The movie made an approx 4 Crores as per early estimates on its 2nd Saturday and now stands at a huge domestic box office figure of about 42 Crores.

Adding another 4.5 Crores from the overseas box office OMG Oh My God!'s worldwide box office collection now stands at 46.5 Crores. The movie has indeed picked up magically at the box office during its 1st week and is giving a tough competition even to the new releases.

Though OMG did well even on its 2nd Saturday there were areas where English Vinglish burned holes in its box office collections.

OMG should end this week in about 12 plus Crores and the lifetime collections are expected to be in the range of 60 Crores.
