Blinkie Text Tutorial..

Blinkie Text Tutorial.. Example:

You Need:
Paint Shop Pro
Animation Shop
Bangalore Font

You can make it in Photo Shop too .. but I never tried it.. so I dont know if this works over there.

Tutorial.....

1. First download this font: Bangalore (can be found on www.dafont.com)
2. Dont save the font in the font folder.. But U can save it if u want to.. Just open the font
3. Open Paint Shop Pro.
4. Open a new file >>>



5. Click "Okay"
6. Click on "A" on ur left side.. the text tool >>>



7. Press F8 on the keyboard and a Layer box will open .. This layer box >>



8. Open a new Raster Layer (Layers>> New Raster Layer) & Highlight it on the Layer box.. like this>>>



9. Type any text you want to (I typed "Miss Priya!").. with this setting for font size & color though (Font size is 8 & Foreground color is Black & Backgroud color is White & find the font in the list. >>


10. While its floating... (It should be floating if u had the same settings as me as shows in the pic above)... Go to "Selection>>Modify>>Expand>>Number of Pixel:2"

11. Now click on the "flood fill" tool on ur left side>>



12. Hide the Background Layer which is black on the Layer Box (click on the eyes).. like this>>>



12. Now Duplicate the Raster Layer once.. by going to "Layers>>Duplicate" (Make sure the Text is still in the floating mode "if there are small things moving around the text then its in the floating mode")

13. Now in ur "Layer Box" you should have something like the picture below.. Click on "Raster Layer" rather than "Copy of Raster Layer" on the "layer Box">>



14. Your Flood fill tool should be selected and you should have these color scheme of your right >>



15. Your "raster Layer" is selected in the layer box.. right? Then jus click inside the text and it should look similar to this >>




16. Now on your Keyboard.. jus Press "Ctrl" & "D" together.. this should stop floating..

17. Now go to "Layers>> Merge>> Merge Visible"

18. Now copy it.. by going to "Edit>>Copy"

19. Now Open you Animation Shop & paste it over there.. ("Ctrl" & "V")

20. Now click on Duplicate and Duplicate it about 9 times (u should duplicate it more if you have a long text).. (Duplicate tool on Animation Shop.. To duplicate it .. you'll have to press that tool as many times as you want the picture to be duplicated .. Under the pic.. it should say "F:1 D:10" so if you duplicate it 9 times.. in the end.. it should say "F:9 D:10"):



And after u duplicate it 9 times.. it should look like this >>



21. Click on the first Frame >>



22. On your righ side.. there should be a color box.. pick any color u want. I picked Purple >>



23. Now click on Flood Fill with these settings>>



24. Now Flood fill the first letter (inside the letter.. where there is WHITE part.. not Black Part.. If u mess u jus do Edit>>Undo) >>



25. And then second letter.. but on the second frame like this (click on the next frame and flood fill the second letter)>>



26. And then third letter on the third frame.. >>




Then Keep on going like forth letter on fourth frame.. so on n so forth. (Sometimes TWO letters get "flood filled" on one frame.. even when u just click on only one letter. That's OKay.. because there is some empty space between them.. so ignore things like that).

End Result of the one I made:



If you have a long text.. jus keep an eye on the Last frame .. when u reach the last frame and u need more frames to flood fill other letters.. jus click on the last frame and duplicate (BUT BUT BUT.. MAKE SURE THAT U DIDN'T FILL IN ANY COLOR IN THE LAST FRAME THAT YOU ARE GOING TO DUPLICATE).

IF you duplicated it more than you needed.. then finish all the letters and delete whatever frame is left!



And when its all done.. save it :)

I hope this was an easy tutorial.. i tried my best to add as many illustration as possible. Just Practice more and u'll get a hang of it. Have fun with it.. be creative.. put them in the signature u create.. or jus make is plain simple.. use diff. colors.. n etc etc etc :)
