Arch, don't root for that fool of a son of yours, disinherit him now while you are ahead. I am giving up on my ladli if she coerced Arjun. If Vishnu has kidnapped Purvi, I don't believe he has, and Arjun is marrying Ovi to free Purvi, even then I will not buy it. Vishnu is one character that is true to type, he will not betray his promise to his maayi so he will not at whatever cost, kidnap or hurt Purvi. He has given his word to Purvi as well. So that is barking up the wrong tree.

I do agree that this is confusing. I do not know what to make of it, except that @red leaves the barn door completely open to Ovi being the bride!

You know, if one considers the possibility, albeit a faint one, that the bride is still Purvi, there are 2 points that are difficult to explain.

1) Why is Arjun looking so morose and withdrawn? The only explanation - other than the obvious one that he has been shanghaied by Purvi into this marriage with Ovi - is that there has been a very major falling out between Arjun and Purvi which has soured his whole attitude to the marriage with her. I cannot think of any cause for such a devastating quarrel.

I should add here that as I have noted above, I do NOT buy the "touch me not" theory as an explanation for Arjun's moroseness. He would not care is she did not let him near her for 10 years; he would be happy just looking at her and knowing that she is his wife.

2) If the bride is Purvi, why does Manav look so shocked?

It thus seems, on the balance, that the bride is not Purvi, and if that is so, it has to be Ovi. The Punni option is a non-starter. In any case, all that matters is that it is an almighty mess.

Ask Shruti whether there is a possibility of a twist in the tale and Ovi getting to wed Arjun in the end and she says, "Well, I do not know what is actually planned. But as of now, it looks as though Arjun
and Purvi's marriage is all set to happen. Having said this, even if Ovi is marrying Arjun, she will
not go through the elaborate wedding rituals as her character is not the one who will like the
festive ambience."

It was a rather long drawn out exercise, but it also cleared my own thinking. It was a real teaser of a promo, far more vital than 3 full episodes. I wonder how it will all play out over the coming week.

As I have noted on another thread about whether the marriage was valid (of course it is), and again above, we can even analyse the possibility, though a faint one, that the bride is still Purvi. If one tries this one out, there are 2 points that are difficult to explain.

1) Why is Arjun looking so sombre and withdrawn? The only explanation - other than the obvious one that he has been coerced by Purvi into this marriage with Ovi - is that there has been a very major falling out between Arjun and Purvi which has soured his whole attitude to the marriage with her. I cannot think of any cause for such a devastating quarrel.

2) If the bride is Purvi, why does Manav look so shocked?

LoveTVShows says that the Archana and Manav shots are from old episodes. I don't know about Manav, but Archana is wearing the same saree that she wore earlier in the wedding scene, when she was smiling, And what would be the point of grafting in shots from old scenes?

We are not concluding that the bride is not Purvi just because of Manav's expression in that shot. The bangles don't mean a thing after the twin saree twist in the kidnapping episode. The key factor is really Arjun's mood.He looks as though he is at a funeral, not at his own wedding.

It thus seems, on the balance, that the bride is not Purvi, and that leaves only Ovi.

As for your last sentence, it sums up what I feel right now to a T. Poor, poor DK!

I do not know what to think. The facts, insofar as one can gather them from the promo, point in only one direction, and as you can see from my responses earlier in this thread, it is not that I have not considered the Purvi option. But it does not work, when one sees Arjun's face in the promo.

You see, Laurie, he is not sad, not angry, not depressed even. He seems to be totally withdrawn, like a robot going thru the motions. The only time there is something in his eyes is when he is looking at the bride's face as the cloth is being lowered, and one cannot decipher that look at all. I cannot think of any reason for him to look like that if he was marrying Purvi.

We have to wait and see what rationale, however screwed up, they offer for this backing out by Purvi. I cannot believe in the kidnapping theory myself, but who knows, the CVs might plump for that, as it would explain both Arjun's mood and the fact that he goes thru the wedding with no hesitation.

The con: as Janhvi says about, Vishnu has given a kasam to his mayee that he will not hurt Purvi.

The pro: then again, when he is sitting with her outside the court and he sees Purvi and Arjun coming, the threats against them that he utters, with his mother listening, seem to indicate that he has set the promise to his mom aside.

As as been remarked with telling brevity on this thread, it is all VERY CONFUSING.

I am going to see what happens this week, if only out or curiosity. As for you, you can always take refuge in the raging storm, however much of an oxymoron that might sound!!

The version of 'God' displayed here in Pavitra Rishta really does have warped sense of humor when it comes to the sanctity of marriage and love. 😕

As for your comment about this being a disaster promo, that is too true, alas! Still, I am going to see what happens this week, if only out or curiosity as to what rationale, however screwed up, they offer for this backing out by Purvi.

I have even considered the Purvi is the bride option, as you can see from my responses above, but it simply will not fly.

Everything you say is true and valid.

As for me, I have tried to fit the facts to the 'it is still Purvi as the bride' option too - for this turn of events was tough to take. But as I have explained to Laurie above, it simply will not fly. The kidnapping theory does not jell with me either, though it would explain many things. I simply do not feel it is anything like that.

It is something both far simpler, and something that resonates with the TV soap/ Balaji CVs - the old as the hills, time-tested sacrifice track. What surprised and dismayed me was not Purvi's lemming act, but Arjun not telling her to go to the devil with her mahaanta act, and refusing to roll over like a well trained poodle and marry Ovi. Well, he seems to have done precisely that.

Janhvi, I don't think the idea of his ever loving Ovi enters into it at all. He is seeing it an endurance test, and what I want to know is WHAT precisely made him cave in to Purvi's emotional blackmail. As you know, I have always felt that he was too soft, too eager to please, too accommodating where she was concerned. I like a man who is a man, not one who lies flat for his girlfriend to walk all over him. But this time it is not submissiveness, it is emotional suicide. Why???

As for Purvi, words fail me.

I shall wait and see what corkscrew rationale is dished up next week for this 'surprise twist' and then I can think of walking away from PR. It will save me hours each day, and the poor forumers will not have to digest my over long and excessively detailed offerings, so it will be a win win situation !

PS: I thought Archana looked sad but not shocked, but Manav did look shocked, or startled at the very least. Why would he, if it was Purvi? Not that either of us thinks that, anyway. It was clever of you to note the forehead point; Purvi's bangles can be passed on to Ovi, but not the forehead, that has to be hers alone!

As for Purvi, I hope she has run away, far, far away from the reaches of her forum mother as I along with Arjun's forum mausis will be chasing her with a danda if that is the last thing I do before quitting this farce of a show.

As for Archana, I hope she has learned to keep her mouth shut about her fantasies of leading a happy life with the dysfunctional Deshmucks as that is what created this furore in the first place.

@blue. I agree completely, especially with the part in bold.

I have myself pointed out the things that don't add up as Puzzles 1, 2, 3.

But I don't think the shots of Manav and Archana are from older episodes; hers is not, and while I do not know about his, why would they insert old shots into a new promo? The misleading promos you have listed seem to be more from the SBS segments than telecast promos like this one which is being aired literally every 15 minutes.The one totally wrong one was the shot of Archana holding Ovi's hand while Purvi looked on sadly from a little distance away. But I think that was never meant to be a promo, but rather a depiction of Archana's likely dilemma. This one seems more detailed and coherent, and for one thing, it cannot be anyone's dream. I wish it was!

As I have mentioned to both Laurie and Janhvi, the kidnapping theory is attractive and would explain both Arjun's mood and his readiness to go ahead with the wedding despite the change of bride, and I would WANT it to be the correct one. But I somehow do not feel that anything as dramatic is at the root of this. I hope I am mistaken, for what bothers me the most is Arjun's apparent spinelessness. Let us see this week what it really turns out to be.

The rest of what I would have wanted to say here has already been said to Laurie and Janhvi, so I shall not repeat myself now.

How I wish this one too was, like the last but one precap, a dream! It is more like a nightmare, one that one tries hard to wake up from, but without success.

To boot, you all also got to watch their real-life romance blossom and even now get the pleasure of their offscreen segments and news.

As for this promo, if this promo is to be believed and we are basing it on what we saw, then there is only one conclusion and that is the one Shyamala after such a thorough and detailed analysis came to: After watching the promo it is obvious...they show Purvi and the motions of the wedding...so that the "twist" can be that Arjun ends up marrying someone other than Purvi. As you said Shyamala, due to the expressions on his face...it is obvious that it is not a surprise. Arjun is going to end up marrying Ovi, and that too with full knowledge of what he is doing. There is no hidden face on the bride or shocked surprise element here.

The only caveat and small glimmer of hope (and I am going to keep it very small so as not to raise false hopes given that this is an Ekta Kapoor serial and we have Kasam Se and BALH as real life examples to boot) is that past promos have been misleading...the scene almost always never is the same as what is depicted in the promo...and some have not even happened altogether. (Such as during the engagement when Archana is shown with a smiling Ovi and Purvi sad, holding both their hands, standing a little distant from Purvi...remember---this actually never happened---period) When Archana finally did find out...it was long after...and by then Ovi and Teju knew that Archana was their mother. Another thing we didnt see coming. The promo of Punni telling everyone about Arjun and Ovi was false too.

I remember having to protect my boy on that one too. Everyone here was up in arms since it showed just the "family" standing in an almost circle...Teju holding Ovi...and in the Deshmukh house...Archana walking in and Arjun too. So everyone believed that Arjun watched Ovi slap Purvi and did nothing. Again he was villified and tarred/feathered. As Shayamala said...we were kept very busy. Turns out Arjun ended up not even being there...and the whole thing was much much different than was depicted.

I read a couple of interesting posts that brought up the fact that Archana and Manav frames are not authentic...they are taken from earlier episodes, as well as Sulochana too. That being said, unless Manav decided to put in an appearance after all...this may well be the same way as the promo I referred to...he may not even be there. Archana, Sulochana, DK, Vandita, Aniket, Vaishali, Damo...where are they all? There are many things that do not add up here.

One can always hope that we need to keep the faith. The facts are that Arjun is not the sacrificial sort. Its true...he did tell Purvi that open-ended statement that he would do anything to keep her happy...but that is if she marries him...and the statement was said in order to convince her to do so...because he is still delusional in believing she is having pre-wedding jitters. The mistake he is making here...as he did earlier during the engagement is that he is not connecting the dots. He knows Purvi is worried about her Aai's marriage...but other than sympathizing he is not taking it seriously enough to realize how profound and important of an impact that will have on him personally. He does not realize that the divorce of Archana/Manav is going to have a profound effect on his own marriage. If he had, he would have probably put a lot more focus and effort on trying to pay more attention to this and stop the divorce. He does not realize that to his fiancee the two are intertwined.

I still do not understand it. The promo is obvious...but some inner gut feeling tells me it is not as clear cut as it seems. I cannot see Archana allowing this...or accepting it in any way. Teju had made it perfectly clear...even before Arjun's confession about Purvi...that she did not want Ovi to marry Arjun and wreck her life. She was not going to allow it. I dont believe Manav would either. As for Arjun, I dont think Purvi telling him in a letter is going to be enough. He will be devastated and heartbroken but he very clearly is against this mahaanta type crap...and has told Purvi clearly to her face the same thing. I dont see him marrying Ovi because of this.

The only scenario I can think of is blackmail...maybe Ovi teaming up with Vishnu (that would definitely be one hell of a twist)...Vishnu kidnapping Purvi again...and making it clear that Arjun has to marry Ovi in order to save Purvi's life. I just cannot seem to get out of my head that Vishnu is too quiet. He made it clear, several times, that he is out for revenge on them...as he pointed out to Varsha clearly at the courthouse that day. He also had clearly done his homework as we saw...he knew everything about the Karanjakar's...and Manav's family...their home situation and everything. I had thought it was odd even then that he could know everything...but not know about Arjun/Ovi prior fiasco. But since nothing more came of it...I didnt pay attention to it at the time and let it pass. For him, he may have promised Varsha not to harm the K house people...and in doing something like this...he is still technically keeping his promise. He will not harm Purvi...but Arjun has no way of knowing that...and in this way, he still gets his ultimate revenge to ruin them as he said he would and Ovi gets what she wants. So Arjun will marry her...but will not live with her or touch her...and will still do what he can to find Purvi.

If the promo turns out to be true...and Purvi coerces him into marrying Ovi...then we were robbed and made utter fools out of. They are not worthy of each other and what we thought was a deep love is simply a farce. Not worth wasting any more emotion on. The kicker here for me as to whether or nt to continue with this mockery of a show will be whether or not Arjun marries Ovi at the behest of Purvi. If he doesnt, and he doesnt marry her at all or does so only because he knows Vishnu has Purvi stashed somewhere...and does it for that reason then I suppose I will trudge on. If he marries Ovi because Purvi has emotionally blackmailed him into doing it for "her happiness" then I will be one of the first in the stampede of Arvi fans out the door.

I can't change the fact that these 2 are fictional characters, not real human beings, and so Ekta and those dumbheads on the Creative team can do whatever they wish with them and play God all they want. After all, at the end of the day, whether we like it or not, it is their story. But I can damn well change whether or not I go further into this emotional claptrap and by God, believe me I will. So should the rest of you.

What I like about this promo is the timing.
I am not going to be sad when I watch Friday's episode tonight on TV or of the precap scene that we thought would be in Monday's episode.

More yet, I would not any more hurry to watch the episodes of this show. Saves me time in the morning. Good for me.
