Swa, Ron and the Finger-Heart :)

Ok peepaaal...here goes Scene 9! Don't laugh, k 😳

By the way, I have a feeling it's a bit too long...but I can't help it. I just cannot write small chapters/reviews 😕

Those were the days...those were the nifty days when Bharat and Gowda actually had substantial role-play beyond monosyllables. When non-dancers had not raided most of the screen-space. When D3 almost always involuntarily fetched that silly emoticon smile [😃] on my face.

Thank God for Rafi's youtube channel; it takes us pleasingly back to the ninth SwaRon scene [ever!] And thus begins our flashback to a portion of RDX's alpha party!

A party filled with its share of look-looks and then some… and yeah, loads of "nayi shuruats" in their threshold. This is where we saw a ViHa in making [right after Vicky spotted Neha's bare midriff…how deep is that]. And this is where we saw traces of a possible RiMar, NiMi and BharKha in future [Which we are still, um, waiting for]. This is where the celebrated Chhabilal and Ramaira originated [and were unfortunately never repeated again]. And of course, THIS is where we saw our first SwaRon "almost-kiss"… thanks to Sharon's accidental stupor.

Anyhow, we get back to our scene#9. I'll speak in present progressive for my convenience.

Swayam [looking peachy in his black vest and checks], pulls out his fingers to form a heart [for obvious reasons], and looks through it at his lady beloved, standing pretty in her hot-hot LBD. Ah, the majnu-days. This gesture went on to become a "Swayam-trademark" with subsequent episodes, every time Sharon gave him those flash-frozen-frowns. Remember the Footloose auditions?

Okay now, offhand…I would have found this kinda…ermm cheesy… 😳

But mind you, this is Swayam Shikhwat we are talking about. THE blue-eyed boy [pardon the clich], who can turn even a considerably kitsch scene believable, with his bare earnestness. iLove ☺️

iGush? But iHonest.

This was the episode where I decided: 'Screw logic…this guy is adorable!'

And this, inspite of what follows next.

Swayam speaks in his still-in-training raw undertone: "Itna khoobsoorat koi kaise ho sakta hai? Most beautiful woman in the world. Bilkul pari lag rahi hai." Point blank. Still looking through the peek-hole of his finger-heart. Aww 😳

All this while, Sharon continues to placidly look away, beatifically ignorant of Majnu's silent [eh, not quite 😉] sighs right behind her. Even as Swayam is about to topple over into the pool lost in her trance! Double aww ☺️☺️

But chalo, Bharat and Gowda arrive to rescue.

This episode also had Bharat comically breaking in: "Mujhe toh teri pari patakha lag rahi hai!"

And no sooner, Swayam gives him a really tough look…which had me in splits at the irony of it! Back then, who knew Swayam would later become St.Louise ka Bruce-Lee-to-be? [Credits: Shivam]

So, naturally I was all 🤣

Also, notice how Swayam's "heart" continues to hang around...in-the-backseat-but-definitely-not-out-of-the-car! This, in the process of throwing that glances-of-warning at Bharat, making the poor boy squirm a trifle. Can I aww one more time? Hee ☺️☺️☺️

Anyway, Swayam tunes out the world once again as Sharon suddenly turns around at him.

Taking the cue, the "invisible musicians" enthusiastically kickstart the customary drumroll of pehla nasha, right when the hawa-hawa bit begins and bubbles fly by from nowhere. Unreal or whatever…magical all the same.

It's adorable [and tad funny] how the "heart" STILL has not left Swayam's fingers! Its beginning to turn out to be the 13th member of the cast after all ⭐️

Well, our Majnu cares a dime, even as "Laila [?]" looks disapprovingly at him, raring to verbally lash at him any moment. But strangely, all that seems to concern him is: "Ab wo bhi mujhe dekh rahi hai."

Kriya however intercepts further damage, violently jolting the poor boy back to earth.

Here, I breathe a sigh of relief myself. Back then, I had principally been on team Kriya [as against Sharon]…mostly because I hated the way she treated poor Shikhawat. Almost as much as I eventually began adoring her; especially post the Footloose Elims fiasco.

Predictably, a usual Raiprakash taunt is heard: "Just because of this behanjee, ab sabko panga lena hai…" blah blah.

Even as Shantanu stands open-mouthed, trying to play an embarrassed Swayam, his expressions are infantile. Sneha is also caught in that phase of acting, where she would stress on her dialogues more than needful. But even during these initial days, there was something about TanHa that made me look past these flaws [and as if I could act any better 😳]

SwaRon were interesting, period.

Nonetheless, an incorrigible sweetheart that our Majnu is [much to Sharon's queen-sized luck]… he does not look defeated one bit… regardless of Sharon's venomous glares.

"Gusse me bhi kitni pyari lagti hai ye."

Which friend wouldn't want to hit him hard for this unreformable majnu-ness of his? I would have.

Kriya does the same, making Swayam drop his phone [sacred stuff, because it holds his first Sharon click from the evening]. And when he crouches to pick it up, what does he get to chance-see? Sharon's bare legs...Bonanza!!!

Although, Sharon's dress isn't as short as drastically he reacts to it [like quickly shutting his eyes, and so much "Nahi nahi, ye galat hai, mat dekh Swayam" and sundry]. But then again… Swayam Shikhawat has always been epic…and we love him for that 😳

Even Rey finds it amusing, and gives him an encouraging thumbs-up [which I love by the way…am I a sucker for ReYam chemistry or what!]

Then out-of-the-blue, Swayam decides: "Aaj toh main bhi close to perfect dikh hi raha hu, aaj bol hi deta hoon usey."

Yeah, even I don't know where that came from…but apparently Majnu takes himself a little too seriously here; while his mates look at his "proposal-warm-up" in apprehension. And in his great ardor, he spills Kriya's drink on her dress [essentially so, for one of the most significant KriyaAnsh scenes to follow].

Post this, the scene shifts to an impromptu dance off, where Vishakha and Sharon are trying to own each other with their power moves [albeit more with their acid glances!]

And who saves the day?

Sensing the building strain, Swayam smoothly moon-walks in…and just one close look at Miss Raiprakash makes him reverie off to a different world! Man, some effect she has on him 😍😆

Sharon however makes an evident dig at this, with: "Kyun darr gaye, aaj dance nahi karna?"

She never misses a chance, does she 😈

But what was that? This is when something totally subversive happened!

With one dreamy answer from majnu: "Karna hai, but with you," Sharon Raiprakash appears to thaw.

Okay modestly maybe, but thaws all the same. Historical that!

The very first hints of a possible "SwaRon".

All said, my favorite segment of the scene has to be its end. It's endearing, it's hilarious!

A puppy-eyed Swayam manages to tell Sharon off [besotted by her all the same 😆] with a confident: "Itne rude words tum jaisi beautiful girl ko suit nahi karte Sharon. Aise abuses jab tumhare mooh se nikalte hain, I just don't like it." And the way he stresses on "don't" there… aww Shantanu, why so cute?

But what's cuter?
