Modern girls? that exactly is the problem... Modern doesn't mean wearing mini skirts, drinking alcohol, having sex with everyone and dancing in the club every night! For me Meera wasn't really "backward" either, she was modern but with a traditional way of seeing things.

I honestly think IMLI bossed Homi around. This seemed totally like IMLI's flick not Homi. He also wrote the screenplay so I'm pretty sure he ghost-directed Cocktail too. Homi can do so much better. Being Cyrus was awesome.

The story was nothing extraordinary..however, I think everyone acted well. Saif was a misfit in the film because of his age..but, I think he played Gautam well. I think Imran Khan was the first choice for this film..and there's no way Imran Khan would've pulled off a Gautam. Apart from that, Diana + Deepika were good as well as the direction. The only thing that was flawed was the script..so, personally I wouldn't call it a disappointment. Bollywood's coming out with much worse...

Cocktail was a one time watch. Maybe two for Deepika fans.

I thought Saif Ali did well in his role; yes, he was a complete

misfit in casting itself but with what he had to do, he did well.

I dont know why people are raving about Diana Penty. She

was okay. Personally i never met a girl who spoke with such

a modern accent and yet was so bharatiya nari inside. the

way she walks, her body language, facial expressions all

scream modern woman.

Imtiaz must hv cast her for her looks or something. cant

imagine Homi Adajania choosing her. if Being Cyrus was

anything to go by.

I agree with the poster who said it looks so unlikely Saifs

character would fall for Meeras that too in that short time.

Deepika and Saifs attraction was plausible and they haq

crackling chemistry, Diana and Saif had none. It was

totally unbeievable. Deepika did a wonderful job as

Veronica but its still a very modern role and right up her

lane. When she does a completely off character role like

a mad woman or village belle and pulls it off, I ll start

believing in her acting.

I was surprised that diana had a more lengthier role than Deepika, heck she had one full song too! but no doubt Deepika was the best, esp. the scene where she confronts Diana gave me chills. Saif was annoying...His lines were so cheesy..I cant even imagine how any girl would fall for him! HE looked old and the beard was such a turn off. His role was neither sexy, witty or charming...I cant believe this is the same Saif who did Hum Tum and Kal ho na ho! The story was kind of unconvincing. I still feel Saif's character was not really in love with Meera. Just a kind of attraction because she played hard to get!!

The movie seemed pretty funny the first half but the story was pretty lame...I wonder how this movie became such a huge success🥱

Being modern does n't mean u can drink, u can sleep with whomever they want...saif's n deepika's character were worst by showing all these by them.. and the most worst scene was introducing diana to his mom as his lover ... ufff

I saw the movie nothing really Special about it but I really liked Diana character and yes she overshadowed Deepika.

they were actually frustrated not modern the typical my parents dont care for me = veronica and i am not married just wanna have sex=oldie gautam
