How PSH has messed up.

PSH was a fabulous show. I am watching the show with my sister and her friend from the beginning and the earlier episodes (we're up to the part where Bumsukhia (yeah, I know...the spelling😆) is trying to steal Amrita's camera. The story has depth, the characters were developing, the dynamics between the families both Sugni's and TVS was shown. The conflcts were emerging including the on between Chacha Haldi and TJS...TVS's sister even had some lines. The struggle of the Bedni women was actually discussed and shown. And the relationship between TVS and Sugni was in its earlier stages.
THEN, around the 40th episode the writers rushed with TVS's declaration of love for Sugni. It was TOO fast. The writers failed to allow this relationship to develop. It would have been so much more interesting to have watched it blosom subtely. That never happened.
Now we are watching some thriller with a young kid locked alone 😕 in a house. The recent episode with Sugni doing the Rai at TVS house and his bold declaration of getting married to her went a bit over-the-top as we see with this mystery. I feel the other characters and the storylines have been lost and the depth, emotions, relationships and storyline of this show have been lost in a desperate bid to kick up the ratings.
The writers need to go back and look at what they showed before and that was the struggle of the Bedni women and Sugni's desire to find someone. Challenges should be a natural development of a storyline...now they seem forced.
Here's what I would like to see:
1) More scenes with Sugni and TVS family - how about dialogue between TVS younger sister and Sugni - she's going to be her future babhi - how does she feel about Sugni, her brother's marriage to her>

2) TJS and Sugni's mother - what happened to that storyline? It's like it completely vanished. Did TJS promise to marry her? Did he love her? Does TJS wife still harbor a grudge towards Gulabia?
3) Aditya and Amrita - give them something to do. How about Amrita's documentary? She has no camera - she's using a camera that takes pictures. Making a documentary takes work - and all of a sudden she's not making one? What happened?
4) Sugni preparting for her marriage - whose going to pay for it? Whose showing up? Preparing for a wedding is part of a show.
I would have MUCH preferred a TVS who was using Sugni to get back at TJS - a TVS who never loved her but was actually using her to promote his own political career. A heartbroken Sugni finding out that the man she married was not attracted to her. Does Sugni leave, adjust to her home, try to win the love of a man who could never love a Bedni?
OR, to have had TVS actually married, his wife ill and then getting better and struggling to divorce him. A devasting Sugni going into the Rai dance, TVS doing her SarDakai and then her becoming his mistress.
I think, since they didn't go the Aditya Sugni jodi, the writers are lost - and have lost focus. I hope they can have a creative team meeting, do what they think is right and give us back what they gave us in the beginning.

I completely agree with your viewpoint. After watching last night's episode I had a weird feeling that show will be downfalling fast in the future. What was the point of sugvi love track if they were planning to bring all these mysterious events and people..And why is Dhannuma given so much importance in the family? she knows things about Vikram that his family are unaware of??It does not look right.

Great Thread Lialia,
PSH is probably the only show that I am obsessed over , but I as of last night it seemed like a speeding train heading for a train wreck!, although I am hoping and praying that some one comes along and stop it before it turns disastrous, that being said I am on the train til the end only because I have been smitten with Varun Badola and TVS (lines are blurred between the two!)
Here is my issues with the show, it started off great, the social element and the way they were portraying it was splendid, I understand that the origianl plan was to have Vickram become her owner and Adi save her, but because of the awesome chemistry between the two, and the fans, they decided to change that angle. But they rushed the love story , they are rushing the marriage, (why did he have to put a date to it?) then they introduced a mystry element that goes against the TVS we know, the man dose what he thinks is right and dose not hide it, so why would he hid something so big? that story line is taking away the original purpose of the show, which is the life of the Bedini.
It as though they changed one relationship , and got lost on how to proceed...
What they could have done is introduced another character . One who was as evil as a thakur could be, the intro of the show said "On her Journey Sugni will encounter a man who would become her owner.) They could have left that , and show her getting out of that situation , with the help of Adi and TVs. Thier love could have blossomed during that time, slowly subtly.
Show case Sugni's mother doing all to protect her daughter from her life. Show the Thakur's out casting Vickram and his family for there too Mordern views on how people should be treated, like humans and not Slaves.
So many other roads they could have taken but choose to go this one...we have no choice but to see how it ends up.

Hey Laila, CVs have not messed up the show. On the contrary i think they saved the show in time - by changing the male lead. If they had gone with the original Adi-Sugni love angle, they would have seriously messed up the show. We should applaud the CVs for listening to the fans. Yes the love story of Vik-Sugni seemed like a bullet train, but there's always time for CVs to go back to the drawing board and re-look their storylines. Please visit the Mama Banja Save Sugni thread and read what i have explained about the need for Reva Manzil and the girl story. We must first understand the psyche of TVS before we move on with the main story. All your wonderful ideas and suggestions will be taken into account by the CVs surely. We know they visit IF so yah, maybe we will soon see one of your ideas on TV.

The biggest mess is the bhoot bangla/horror movie type atmosphere around Rewa Manzil. The village looks normal but the haveli looks haunted and scary with fog/rain/full moon etc come and go abruptly.

If they show that there is a kid living alone and the kid happens to be a human (not ghost) then I'd think the Cvs have lost it. If the kid is mentally crazy, why is she not in a asylum?

My gut feeling is that once the mystery is revealed, it's going to be not all that

I am losing interest in that track

Hey Suresh, don't lose interest so fast. Thankfully this show is not just about justice versus injustice, morals and ethics etc. These are important of course, since PSH is based on a real life story. But more importantly, this show has romance, comedy, mystery and horror. It's like Fear Files and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai rolled into one! What more can we ask for?

This is the problem with listening to fans :-) fans r never in agreement on what they want-they should have held their nerve and stuck to their original story -line!

I think you miss the point of my post. While they "saved" their show by changing their lead, they did not plan what they were going to do afterwards. They have lost what they were originally showing us because they never really planned very far ahead even with the Aditya Sugni storyline. It was going to be a love-hate relationshp. I will read what you wrote on that thread.

You think so? I don't think the Aditya-Sugni storylline held much depth. Most of us saw no chemistry and if you think it isn't working, then can you imagine if they had not listened to the fans. There is a lot more that can be done and could have been done with the show even with listening to the fans. Remember, without us, who would be watching it?

The show still has a lot of storylines they can follow. Even though they could have let Vikram court { for want of a better word} Sugni a bit longer before marriage, their marriage itself will have lots of consequences. Other bednis will want to get married to their Thakurs, the wives of the Thakurs will feel threatened and even these Thakurs may lose their sleazy lifestyle of having a wife and mistress without consequences.

PSH can pursue all these emotions by the various groups, but I will like the wedding to be delayed a bit though. And they can still show us what happened between Gulabiya and TJS
