Raju Kher, Akshay Anand roped in for Sony's Humsafar; Ashish Kapoor approached to play lead

Sphere Origin's Humsafar on Sony Entertainment Television is busy finalizing its major cast. It has already been reported that Himmanshoo Malhotra will play one of the male leads.

We now hear that seasoned actors Raju Kher and Akshay Anand have been roped in to play pivotal roles. The story is about two sisters who get married to two brothers. The concept will be of love marriage v/s arranged marriage.

Raju Kher will play the ailing father of both the girls. Akshay Anand will play father to the boys. The female leads are new to television, and the buzz is that Rishika Mehani, younger sister of popular actress Muskaan Mehani is one of the leads in the show. The other female lead is new face Samaira Rao.

We also hear that Ashish Kapoor, who is presently seen in Dekha Ek Khwaab, has been short listed to essay the other male lead's role in the show. News is that the opening promo for the show is being shot today.

When contacted, Raju Kher confirmed that he is part of the show. We could not get through to Akshay Anand.

Ashish Kapoor refused to talk on the same.
