It's implied sex! What more do you want? None of the Bollywood actors can actually kiss so make-out sessions go out the window. And this isn't po*n, so your options are even more limited. 😆
Wet saris aren't enough for you boys anymore?! Sheesh! 😆
Most of the kissing scenes and bedroom scenes are just awkward and weird. There is nothing sensual, sexy or even romantic about them. Part of the reason is that they are bad actors. The rest of it is that sex or any form of physical intimacy is looked down upon as something immoral, wrong and crude that movie makers use it for shock value rather than go with a normal flow in the story.
A lot of the cheap and vulgar Bollywood dancing is a pathetic channel for the sexually repressed culture in the subcontinent. To be honest a well executed lovemaking scene is far better than crude dry humping and pelvic thrusting.
Song and dance was always the Indian cinema's expression of sexual activity. There was a time when lyricists, musicians etc could put together something really beautiful to express sex and intimacy. A problem emerged in the eighties and nineties when sexuality became a lot more prominent in India, but Bollywood still remained trapped in a time warp when expressing it was not possible. That was the era vulgar lyrics and dancing was introduced. Rather than show lovemaking or making out, they chose these amusing song and dance routines.
We are still trapped in a time warp. Movies that reflect the nineties style of masala entertainment like Dabangg still resort to the crude song and dance. It is always the shy village belle, the rural hero who indulge in these antics, because their sexuality is repressed. Outside the song and dance they are pious, culturally conformative etc. but in song and dance sequences the craziness is unleashed. Movies where the characters are bolder and don't shy much from the kissing or lovemaking resort less to crude song and dance routines.
In the end whatever it is, it is these kinds of cultural emergences that make Bollywood and its song and dance routines so unique and entertaining.
