Wooohhhooo!!!!!Congo-rat-so on ze nuooo thraaade!!! (Translation: Woohoo! Congrats on the new thread!!!)
👏
I love the way you write.
Neither one's thoughts, or emotions, ignored or left unexplored.
How both their thoughts almost exactly mirror the others.
A perfectly described reunion. The emotions they both feel before actually touching each other was very aptly described. The unforgettable-ness of a partner. Beautiful.
But...
To me...this was the most potent and touching part...
"Trance induced hands moved towards each other, seeking the comfort, the warmth that had been long denied. Arnav's hands went around her shoulders, as he buried himself into her hair breathing in the iris. Khushi's hand roamed over his back, trying to seek assurance. Palpable tension, ebbed out, slowly. Replaced by yearning, thirst and extreme longing. She didn't know what she was doing, but her lips pressed against his stubble, slowly tracing their path over to his jaw, but the moment she felt him stiffen, slightly, she placed a soft kiss on his lips, and stepped back. She knew she couldn't ask for more. It was enough, the brief taste, the comfort of his touch, would be long-lasting.
They stood there, for a long time, just looking at each other. One wondering, what exactly had gone wrong, months before. The other, wanting to vent out the guilt. But neither said a word. The silence was too precious. But the waves, playing across their feet, seemed to know more. It knew that for them time was never enough.
Before they knew, a loud, thunderous tide washed over them, the sudden cold force pushing her fragile body directly onto his hard chest, drenching them both. As she looked up at him, blinking away the drops of water falling from his hair onto her eyes, she saw the glint of unleashed desire in his eyes. She didn't know, but her eyes mirrored the same. And so, without wasting a second, his lips claimed hers, coasting over the soft terrains, drinking in all he could. His thirst slowly quenching. But he wanted more. And for once she didn't deny, but gave him, all she could. The urgency slowly turned into a slow, deliberate rhythm, but before it could end abruptly, like the other night, Arnav, softly broke away and enveloped her in his arms. The walls of tension, jealousy, fear, foreboding, seemed to be melting away slowly. The scent of wet cotton and jade, soft kisses against her neck, and they had been transported to a world of their own. A soft whisper, broke into the stirring silence.
'I missed you, Arnav.'"
And the last line, and the way you described it being said was...it did something to me. The softness the entire setting makes you feel...the joyful melancholy of wanting, but being unsure of whether your wants will be granted...and that tiny feeling of victory when you realise your wants being realised.
Truly...one of the best scenes in ROA so far, only beaten by the roof scene on Khushi's b'day.
Kudos to you!
And thank you, yet again, for the amazing update and the PM.
