Hi Sush, Thanks for responding. I couldn't agree more with you on the over analysing part. The days I succeed in not analysing too much are the days when I enjoy the epis more evn if they were not the most brilliant. Sadly we are creatures of habit and it is difficult to always check in our sense of right/ wrong etc. at the door before watching the epi.

I do think the CVs have a very difficult task at hand satisfying everyone esp since as the viewer very often we want the story to go the way we envision it and characters to behave the way we want to see them behave or conduct themselves.

As for Khushi, I think Arnav said it best- paagal hai par cute hai! 😃 I am so hoping we'll have the opportunity to see her side of the realisation of love in more detail in the upcoming epis.

And while we're at creating the hope/ wish-list that hug needs to happen soon- we've waited a whole year of the remote -being -out -of -limits-for all -at-8pm for it!

Yes, I need to check in to the IPKholics meet that is being planned 😉

Even I like most of Khushi's comedy... I like it when we get light-hearted episodes... at times its nice to just laugh and enjoy such comedy scenes... I'm sure I wouldn't have been able to tolerate the dragging of this MU if everything had been just gloomy and depressing...

Although I'm not sure about the suicide thing... I did actually enjoy the Will part, the TV anchor scene, etc... but I just got confused when something serious as suicide portrayed in a comic manner...

Hey So another thing. Everyone is very fearful of Barun's absence for his film shoot including me . I just read mishti's update and she says that he is already been shooting for 2 weeks. Strange that there is no news in the media about his role. Is it even big enough to garner such attention that we forum folks are giving ?

Beautiful post. Yes, Khushi's comedy is not a bad thing. Never thought of it this way until they started the 100 ways to annoy ASR track.

All the cute incidences you've highlighted and a few others that come out to mind were all nicely done and very situational. Loved her comedy when NK was around. Starting post Holi, they've turned Khushi into a comedian and nothing else. I'd rather they keep the comedy to Mami and NK.

Khushi's biggest USP is her strength of character , her fearless nature and her single-minded resolve to never hurt anybody even if they've hurt her. I remember her saving Shyam right after the SHyam revelation. Very recently we've seen her gleaming at the fact that ASR hadn't eaten all day. She's doesn't think twice before humiliating ASR, of course the last 2 days when she was talking to her friends and Garima was different.

Water under the bridge, what's done is done. I'm really looking forward to our sensitive and loving Khushi back with a bang with the revelation next week.

Thanks for opening up this thread, loved reading everyone's takes.

Sri: Not much of a jet lag this time😊 I too am really hopeful about the upcoming week, the track really needs to move and while i enjoyed most of the GH stay and bonding, the MU has to start to clear and there needs to be some growth from Khushi's side. Let's wait and watch and I'm looking forward to all the discussion and over analysis of the same😉.

Ratna: I had a great trip, thanks. I got back early morning on Saturday so i did spend most of yesterday unpacking and getting back to US routine.
I'm so obsessed that my parents were totally surprised at my IF and show fixation and like my hubby my dad thinks I've lost it to spend hours watching and discussing fiction😆😆.
About Barun's movie, i don't think it is a major role. it's not possible to do a daily show and a full fledged role in a movie at the same time. He probably has a smaller part in some movie and will shoot on and off for it for a few months. I agree there would have been a lot of media coverage if it were a "hero" role. The good thing about the GH track is we have seen a LOT of Barun and Sanaya and I'm really glad about that because the Bubli track is not working for me at all. I wish some of their screen time was better utilized instead of public baths and death traps, but most of it made for good viewing. Let's hope for some of the intensity and actual love story to make a comeback this week. I'm excited both about the revelation and the kidnapping.

Very relevant weekend question, Sush. Khushi's antics have been under the scanner for a while. Great comments from everyone - fun read. 👏

I agree with veeps that the comedy overdose seems like the result of some kind of segmentation strategy and that the general objection is not that there is comedy... but that it's been an overdose, that too while the cloud of the MU and all sorts of serious issues loom large.

I suspect we're all happy with Biraj's prescription (which is really what Arnav loves about her ) - thodi pagal hai par cute hai. The issue is what constitutes "thodi" pagal. The problem is that post the high intensity wedding drama, we've seen a steady escalation of the pagal quotient to the point where it's become irritating and unfunny.

For me, this past week it came to a head because of the OTT murder plot and the suicide plan (I didn't watch that one fortunately, but by accounts it would've been awful for me!). These are serious issues and comedy in this area needs to be deft, skillful --- that's not often the signature of the IPK team.

I would hate to see Khushi lose her zany, whacky spirit, but as with everything there has to be a sense of balance with how her character is written. All too often the writing team seems to take the "Khushi can do anything" mantra to heart and we see a Khushi who's yo-yoing all over the place, It does the character and Sanaya Irani no favors. Sanaya has great comic timing but even she is straining credulity with some of these crazy antics.

With drama returning this week, let's hope for that much needed balance. Maybe when all is said and done with the drama we'll all be happy to see the return of comic Khushi! 😉
