Second do you really think our police and justice system is so strong to take an action... leave the fact that Viraj is powerful on small city of Manali, there are many cases where police does not register a case unless media intervenes... Moreover the complaint was not made by Jhanvi, it was done by Komolika Rana... And it was not a written complaint because in the episode Viraj said "that as soon as Komolika CALLED the cops"...

But you rightly said there is no point arguing... because you do not want to accept the reality... There are lakhs of pending cases in court... Many criminals are roaming scott free and some of them sitting in parliament (if you read about recent UP elections). There are so many incidents where police do not register a compliant for the simple reason that if they register a crime, the crime rate in their area will increase, and will affect their dossier and track record... (small incident at Mumbai- recently a girl was in news when she went to police station to launch a complaint of mobile theft, the cop on duty refused her... and on insisting that he will do a missing case only... when matter got exalted he manhandled and threatened the girl and his male friend.. only after media intervened, an inquiry was set up)... How many times NGO's and media have to step in to ensure police registers a case... Am sure you have not been to a police station ever to register a complaint or have been entangled into the vicious legal process... 1984 riots victims are still awaiting justice... the main convicts of Bhopal Gas Tragedy is still at large, and our give has failed to extradite them... Read the cases of crime against women (molestation, eve teasing, rape), even at National Capital Delhi, especially North Eastern girls, police refuse to take their complaints... I humbly suggest you to read the news in details and analyze it... Truth is not at all flowery...

tell me one incident where the husband showed he murdered the family..but he hadn't..then I will believe you..why the hell are you soo obsessed with this work of fiction is beyond me! there was no need for you to be rude..

I don't believe myself that everything shown in fiction shows is real ... i mean thats why its fiction but that does not at all mean they are not based on reality ... i do not myself find some of the things shown to be totally real but it does not at all mean the show is totally unrealistic ... its based on reality only though obviously they have to accommodate the demands of a fiction show too

And I have said it time and again that Viraj has OCPD no doubt and needs to be treated but that is part of the problem only, in my opinion, violence is a choice

Well I love this show and thats why giving reasoning to your questions/objections... Had no intention to be rude but realistic...

Secondly as you are asking me, that why am I protecting the show so much, I can ask why are you so inclined on bashing the show so much... Your first post expressed your upsetness, "which wife beater kills the whole family of the wife?? beyond ridiculous! "... So I gave you the reference of real news incidents where husband had killed wife and her entire family... Before that other members explained that he didn't kill the family... Then you raised question that "what how did he manage to create fake dead bodies? if that is not unrealistic, what is!"... Other members politely informed you that they were sedated and Viraj himself accepted in the episode... Then you moved on to raise another question, followed by answer of another member... Then you became dismissive towards other members replying like "whatever" etc... That is being rude... So that shows, firstly you are not following the show, just making the topic... Secondly that you have a problem with the show for some reason better know to you... Thats why when I gave you the worst possible reference where husband had clearly killed the entire family, now you are asking me to give one incident where husband has portrayed to kill the family, but he didn't... When people can murder wife and her family, threatening is easier...

So I am refraining from commenting any further on your post, and I had no intention of being rude... But it clearly seems to me that your purpose it to bash the show for whatever good reasons you have... On basis of one scene you dislike/disapprove of, you have called the entire show unrealistic... You should have rather made the topic on that particular scene...

I request the moderator to close this topic please, as the purpose doesn't seem to be a constructive criticism...

I agree with the TM's general point. This show has some larger than life and glamourized elements to it. That doesn't mean it's a bad show. But many things are exaggerated, and Viraj himself is somewhat made out to be a larger-than-life character/force. Now, I guess for women in these situations, it is true that the abuser is somewhat larger than life. Nevertheless, the show exaggerates many things--many times to drive the point home, other times for creative reasons.
