Soap queen nudges out primetime show, shoot for new one revolving around NRI family to start in March

A fter recent hits like Bade Acche Lagte Hain and Kyaa Hua Tera Vaada, Ekta Kapoor will now remake Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), one of the biggest Bollywood hits directed by Aditya Chopra, into a TV show for Zee. Sources claim there will be modifications to the narrative while the basic plot of a love story and an NRI family returning to India will be retained.

Sara Khan, who made her acting debut as a young politician in Star One's Dhoondh Legi Manzil Humein (DLMH), will be seen playing the lead role of Raavee, loosely based on Kajol's character. "Yes, I am doing the Balaji show," she confirms, without divulging more.

The show, tentatively titled Diya Mann, will go on floors this March and will probably go on air in April.
Sources reveal that this love story will be shot in Punjab.
The other variation in the tale is that unlike Simran from DDLJ, the lead, Raavee, is an adopted child, raised by a loving, NRI Punjabi family that comes to India. The search for the male lead is still on.

Ekta's new show is said to be replacing either Ram Milaayi Jodi or Choti Bahu, which air at 9.30 pm and 7.30pm respectively, claim sources.

Sara claims she wasn't looking for a show when this one came along. "Post DLMH, I completed my book The Rules for Parents and released it in London. Balaji contacted me for this show and I auditioned online."

Sara, amused with her 'foreign-returned' tag, adds that she's also thrilled about her cameo in Anurag Kashyap's upcoming flick, Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana, where she plays a London-based Indian girlfriend of Kunal Kapoor.

Hindustan times is always after CB when clearly the Deccan Cronicle clearly mentioned RMJ will be taken ofF air

Thnx for the article.I guess we shouldn't react to such articles unless we get it from MS sir or someone from CB unit. These articles are just rumours specially who's an anti-CBian waiting to create shock waves amongst the fans.

Ekta's show already going on 9:30pm slot on colors, so may be they will end Choti Bahu...but CB given good TRPS rather than RMJ, so why CB??

Zee can't end CB.It's doing great.Maybe there must be another show which might go off air. And Ekta's show can take that place.I think we should ask MS sir instead of getting panicked.

agree with u...but if this time they will end CB then i will never watch Zeetv, last time they did the same with CB1, they ended CB1 and agle janam replaced CB..so this time RMJ will take 7:30 slot and CB will go off-air..

even the person who posted is not clear so why speculate wait and watch and the same author in different paper posted RMJ

Rajan's two Surprises

Rajan Shahi is slowly emerging as a big and one of the most successful producers in recent times. The director who turned producer with Bidaai and Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai has made six shows in four years. Six months ago he launched two shows ' Kuch To Log Kahenge and Havan.

Next week, two of his shows will go on air within a day or two on different channels. While Jamuna Paar will be launched on February 27 on Imagine, Amrit Manthan will debut on Life OK. "I am happy that my company is launching two shows almost simultaneously which are diametrically different from each other," he says. Amrit Manthan is a story set in Punbaj. Rajan adds, "It is a show with very strong story and edgy characters where every emotion is shown in extreme be it romance, bitterness or suspense."

Ram Milayi Jodi to end
The soap, Ram Milayi Jodi which did well initially, went down gradually and never recovered from the lows. The show has been in news right since its launch for replacements and new entries. First Priyal Gor was replaced with Sara Khan as its main lead. A few months later, Nishant Malkani quit the show and Sujay Reu was brought in to play Anukalp. Four months ago, Angad Hasija was brought in as Anukalp's brother Aditya to spice up the story. Last week, Sujay's character was killed to get Aditya married to Mona. But the latest development is that the show is on its final leg. Zee has two new shows coming up in March and April and Ram Milayi Jodi will get the axe.

Why all have probs with CB... ?????Channels se lekar PH tak sabko prob hai CBs😡 whenever there is a talk of new show... some articles says CB may go off air... hmmm fed up of reading this kind of article... Playin with CB fan as always...

We should not react of ending news but time slot change ????????? as someone said this slot has already her show and also new show will be non prime ...

I definitely don't want slot change 1st bcoz i love it and 2nd bcoz slot change creates problems ,its a risk of removing viewers as SP show of that slot has already so much ...so no any change should be there in our show pls...
