"Dancing makes me happy" " Mala Salariya

Mala Salariya, the beautiful actress currently seen in Life Ok's Hum Ne Li Hai... Shapath, gets candid with TheTellyTimes about her current show, her love for dance and her fashion style!

How is the experience shooting for an episodic show like Hum Ne Li Hai... Shapath?

It's so refreshing to do a show like Shapath because every episode brings with it a fresh new story, an exciting new concept and it never gets dull. There are new challenges and surprises in store everyday at the shoot; it's great!

Currently the show is about supernatural powers and such, if given a chance to decide, which power would you want and why?

Well I'm always falling short of time, there's so much to do and such little time to do it all in, so I would love to be able to add a couple of more hours in my days!

Currently reality shows are a big hype, any reality show you have been offered, or would want to do?

Someday I would love to do a dance based show because I absolutely love to dance. Dancing makes me happy, takes all my stress away and also helps me keep fit.

What do you do when you are not shooting?

I'm a big bookworm! I love to read, I always carry a couple of books with me wherever I go. Even between my shots at the shoot, I can be seen glued to my books. I also love watching movies and going for stand up comedy acts. Bowling and water sports are also fun.

You have also been doing modelling, any attire you love wearing the most?

I love wearing all kinds of clothes. Indian, western, blingy, casuals " I like to mix it up.

Do you take fashion tips from others or do you follow your own tips?

I've never followed any rules when it comes to dressing up. Whatever makes you happy and comfortable, just go for it!

Life OK's Shapath series Super Cops V/s Super Villains' on a high

Starting Week 31 onwards, the computer graphics heavy weekend fiction show has registered strong growth

Life OK's Shapath series Super Cops V/s Super Villains' has recorded a new high in viewership. The supernatural series that airs on weekends has pushed past the competition with an upsurge in TVTs starting Week 31. Being the only fiction show on the weekend in the 9 PM primetime slot, the show is now proving to be tough competition to the other talent based reality shows in the same time slot.

The computer graphics heavy series that focuses on a new super villain every weekend has provided the extra push to Life OK to climb the success charts.

Commenting on the growth trajectory for Shapath, Pratik Seal, Marketing Head, Life OK, said, "We are extremely happy that the Shapath series of Super Cops Vs Super Villains' has been widely appreciated by our audiences and the current ratings are a measure of its success. The series has carved a niche for itself, especially considering the presence of Bollywood celebrities on competing shows. It is a good option for those who do not want to watch reality based shows."

Moving on from its first season names Hum ne li hai Shapath', a crime investigation series, to Shapath Super cops vs Super villains', a supernatural series, the show has received wider acceptance since the revamp. The fiction series has made a distinctive mark for itself amongst the competitive star-studded reality shows. The weekend series airs every Saturday and Sunday at 9 PM.

'Devon Ke Dev Mahadev' has made my career: Piyush Sahdev
'Devon Ke Dev Mahadev' has made my career: Piyush Sahdev

Actor Piyush Sahdev who is currently seen in the serial 'Devon Ke Dev Mahadev' as lord Ram is in a happy space. All the struggle he has been through in his life is finally paying off. The actor made a stop-over in the city before heading to Kanpur for a programme on conservation of river Ganga.

Better late than never Piyush, who was earlier seen in serials like Ghar Ek Sapna, Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya and Hum Ne Li Hai...Shapath feels he is not destiny's child. "I am from Delhi and I came to Mumbai for some personal reasons 13 years ago. When I came to Mumbai I found a very different life there, which was altogether new for me . But I had to prove myself, mujhe kuchh kar ke dikhana tha, and I chose the showbiz industry for that. And then, life showed me its true colours. For months I was without work. I tried for TV serials but with no luck. When I didn't get a break in TV, I started doing theatre. I also learntBharatnatyam, Kathak and Salsa. I worked on my physique, because being a Punjabi, I was a bit overweight. I did everything to groom myself to get that perfect image of an actor so that nobody could ignore me. Even today, whatever schedule I have, I never miss my workouts in gym. Specially for the role of Ram, a person has to look good, be in shape. I now feel if anyone else had been in my position, he would have either committed suicide or left the city," he says.

Experience counts Getting into the role of Ram was easy for Piyush as his family is very religious. Recalling his childhood days, the actor says, "The entire family used to watchRamayana every Sunday together. Aur jab maine hosh sambhala, I remember we used to see the serial on video cassettes, such was the craze for the show. And today when people say agar Arun Govil ke baad koi Ram lagta hai toh woh main hoon, it really feels good. But I think if somebody really looked like Ram on screen, it was Arun Govil. Jis perfection se unhone ne yeh role kiya hai, nobody else can ever do it. People literally started worshiping him like God."

But Piyush doesn't forget to tell us that he had to forgo his honeymoon to get this role. After finishing the shoot of serial Hum Ne Li Hai...Shapath, I was about to leave for my honeymoon but then I was offered thir role. So, I had to postpone it again. I shot for the promos and then went for my honeymoon to Europe," shares Piyush.

"Joh dikhta hai woh bikta hai" "Before Devon Ke Dev Mahadev, I had done oother serials too, but this show got me popularity. In fact for my other shows, I have done difficult stunts too. Once for a scene, a crane had to be driven over me.I gave the shot in 20 minutess without any cut. But since those serials were not so popular, my work went unnoticed. I feel the serial Devon Ke Dev Mahadev has made my career," says Piyush.

Vikram Bhatt's Horror Story to release on Friday the 13th

Everyone knows about Friday the 13th that is said to be one jinxed day of the year when believers do not launch any new venture or buy anything new.

And with his latest film Horror Story slated to release on 13 September that happens to be also a Friday, Vikram Bhatt promises to cast a spell of scare.

The story of Horror Story revolves around seven youngsters and their one dare that leads them to their most dreadful experience with the supernatural in a haunted hotel, which formerly stood as an asylum.

Unlike other Bollywood films, Bhatt's terror film has no songs, no romance and no fillers, but is only a pure unadulterated story of paranormal horror.

While most newcomers step into Bollywood with a drama or romantic film, Karan Kundra along with Nishant Malkani, Ravish Desai, Hasan Zaidi, Aparna Bajpai, Radhika Menon, Nandini Vaid and Sheetal Singh chose their debut with a twist of terror.

The film, written by Vikram Bhatt and Mohan Azad and produced by ASA Production and Enterprises Pvt. Ltd has been directed by Ayush Raina.

'Horror Story' actor Hasan Zaidi's supernatural encounter
'Horror Story' actor Hasan Zaidi's supernatural encounter

Vikram Bhatt's Horror Story is set to scare the audience with its gripping horror tale. And actorHasan Zaidi, who is playing a fearless guy in the movie, is one of the firm believers of this. Although Hasan's character Samrat doesn't believe in supernatural power, yet in real life he has a different tale to narrate.

Recalling the spooky incident, he says that during the shooting, the walk to the lift from vans on the ground floor was usually deserted and spooky. Hasan at one point was called for his solo shot, so he took the lift. However, to his surprise, even though he pressed no button, the lift automatically took him to the 5th floor!

Hasan says, "I just stood there alone staring into complete darkness for 5 minutes and did not effort to close the door. I don't know what it was. I checked but no one from the crew was present on that floor. This was the day when our film's ghost was in makeup on the sets!"

Hasan is sure that the other members of the film would have also experienced the same.

Horror Story is set to be released this Friday.
