You won't believe it but my great grandmother's cousin took it and shocked full household in that zamana

She was little simple in the head and when ukhana taking time came she did not know one , one naughty cousin taught her

And she took it in front of saas , sasur and full family as bride 🤣

There was a stunned silence and so many laughed and she heard about it for rest of her life

My mom was expert at ukhanas

Bhajit Bhaji methichi

Leela Majhya preetichi

An ukhana is a two liner rhyme , made on spur of moment , girls in olden days never called husband by direct name so it was a ritual in marraige that a girl was forced to take husband's name with a lot of teasing thrown in in a couplet uttered

1] During Wedding feeding each other sweet ceremony while eating wedding lunch

2] After Grihapravesh , when bride entered and was surrounded by her sasural people

Ukhanas are like four line poetry a new bride has to say with her husbands name in it. Something like that.😆The ukhana's posted in this thread are the funny ones.

Ukhanas are taken in Marathi rituals after the marriage happens or engagements where they hv to say little rhyming where the name of the husband should come.
