Part 38

They were both shocked for a second

But then Diya realised where she was

D: You wanted to see me?

V: huh?! Oh yeah…I wanted to ask you about the Puna files…

D: Yes sir…

Vedant watched mesmerised

As Diya walked over to him

She bent down in front of the draw,

Near where Vedant was seated

She opened it and started looking for the files

Vedant was couldn't take his eye off her!!

Some of her hair came in front of her face

Slowly Vedant inched forward to move the hair away from her face

But Diya did it herself

And took out the files

D: here you go sir…

She was about to go

When Vedant stopped her

V: excuse me miss…uh…

She turned round

D: Diya!

Vedant sat back in his chair with a smile

V: Diya…so you're br…I mean Mr. Saighal's new secretary?

D: Yes sir…

V: As he's not here…I'm going to need your help on this project

D: Ok sir…

V: So…pick you up at 7?

Diya was confused…

D: Huh?

V: Uh…I mean to discuss the project of course…

D: Um…sure…

She left and Vedant had no idea

Why he wanted her to stay by him and not go!

In the evening…

DK and Disha were enjoying themselves at the beach

DK put his arms round her

And started acting all romantic

Disha tried to push him away

D: DK!!! Not here!!

DK: Why not?

D: because people will see…

DK: And?…Disha they don't care what's going on over here…so come on…give me a kiss

He came closer to her

Disha was about to push him away again

When DK grabbed her hands

And started bringing her close

Disha moved her head saying 'no'

But DK kept on coming

He was about to kiss her

But she moved her head to the side

And DK kissed her neck

For a second Disha just melted

But then she realised where she was

And tried to move away

But DK held her tight

Disha gave a naughty grin

And bit him on the ear

DK: Aaahhh!!!

Part 39

DK let go of her

And clamped his hand over his ear

Disha ran off laughing

DK: Disha!!!

She turned round

And stuck her tongue out at him!!!

DK: You're gonna pay for that!!!

Disha screamed as DK came after her

He chased her across the beach

And they both laughed

As DK caught up with her

And swung her round

Mumbai…

Vedant checked himself one last time in the mirror

Satisfied her made his way towards the door

Suddenly he stopped

And saw Anjali was giving him a weird look

From outside his room

After a few seconds she came in

Slowly Anjali walked around Vedant

Looking at him from top to bottom

Then she grabbed his shirt collar

And sniffed it

Vedant was confused and annoyed

Cause he was getting late

V: Anju…what're you doing?

A: Who is it?

V: Who's who?

A: The girl you're going to meet!!

V: No idea what you're talking about!!!

A: Oh really!! New clothes, aftershave, combed hair, and clean shave…obviously you're going to meet a girl…now spill!!!

V: I…look Anjali…I'm getting late!!

He was about to go

When Anjali took out her mobile

A: Hey bhaiya!!!

Vedant turned round

And saw that she was talking to DK!!

A: bhaiyya…I wanted to tell you that Vedant bhaiyya is…

Before she could finish off her sentence

Vedant came rushing up to her

And took the mobile from her hands

V: Are you carzy?!!! If brother finds out that I'm going to meet Diya, then he'll…

A: Wow!! Diya!!! Such a sweet name!! So when are you going to introduce me!!

Vedant sighed

V: Let me get to know her first!!!…when I do that, then I'll introduce you two!!

A: Promise?

V: Yeah…but you can't tell anybody!!!

A: Sorry bhaiyya…you can't get out of that one so easily…my secrecy has a price!!

V: What do you want?

A: me and the girls are going shopping tomorrow…

V: And I care cause…?

A: Because I'm taking your credit card!!

V: What!!! No way!!…the last time you did that I didn't have enough left over to buy myself a coke!!!

A: Fine…then I'll tell bhaiyya and bhabhs about Diya, and then they'll…

V: Ok, ok…

He took out his wallet

V: Being blackmailed by my own sister!!

No sooner had he taken the card out his wallet

That Anjali snatched it out his hands

A: Thanks bhaiyya…and you better hurry up before you get late for your date!!

She left smiling

Part 40


Vedant rushed out to pick up Diya

He stopped in front of Diyas house

And smiled as he saw her

She was wearing a black knee length dress

And had her hair up with a single clip

Even without any make-up and jewellery,

She looked beautiful!!!

V: Hey!!

D: Hi!

Vedant noticed the files in her hands

V: What're they for?

Diya raised her eyebrow…

D: The Puna project…the reason why we're going for dinner…

V: Oh…oh yeah!! Umm…shall we go?

Diya sat in the car

A few minutes later

They were seated in a lavish restaurant

Vedant gave the order

And Diya immediately started with the project

As she talked about her plans to re-build the factory

Vedant silently watched her

With a dazed smile on his face

Many times Diya looked up to see

Vedant staring at her

She would immediately look back down

And continue talking

Diya was relieved when the food came

And Vedant's concentration switched

From her to the food

At first neither of them spoke

Then Vedant started asking her questions

About her hobbies etc.

As they talked more and more,

Both of them were surprised

About how much they had in common!

Then Vedant asked about her family

Diya's face become pale

Part 41

she spoke slowly

Unsure of what Vedant would think

D: well…the only family I have is my sister…she…

Diya stopped as tears welled up in her eyes

Vedant was concerned

V: Hey…are you okay?

Diya suddenly stood up…

D: Can…can you drop me home please?

V: But…

D: please!!

Vedant looked at her for a second

Then paid the bill

As Diya sat in the car outside

Vedant got in the car

And noticed that Diya had been crying

He didn't ask any questions and started the car

They didn't talk on their way to her house

Vedant kept his concentration on the road

While Diya looked out the window

With a sad look on her face

Finally they stopped in front of her house

Diya got out the car

And started walking towards her house

Halfway there she stopped

And turned around

D: Thanks…

They both smiled at each other
