Protest Not to Screen Tamil Films in Srilanka

Several filmmakers have opined that they will not screen their films in Sri Lanka following the country's demand to delete some dialogues in 7aum Arivu about Tamilians being oppressed. Certain sections of people in Sri Lanka demanded that the dialogues mouthed by Suriya should be removed failing which the movie will not be allowed to be screened. Due to this pressure, Udhayanidhi Stalin deleted the dialogues.

This has irked the Tamilians worldwide. Reacting to this, actor-director-producer Sasi Kumar had said that he will not release his films in Sri Lanka henceforth and Udhayanidhi Stalin had also said that he too would not release his films in Sri Lanka in future.

The Hindu Munnani Katchi has appealed to all the filmmakers not to screen their movies in that country following such demands.

I second Nageshwari, Am PROUD to be a Tamilian!

The pro-Tamli dialoges pertaining to Tamils from Sri Lanaka were indeed true, and it was a sentimental moment to hear it in the movie, after all, my roots go back to Northern Sri Lanka! Its a shame that dialoges containing facts had to be removed due to such demands.

Kudos to Sasi and Uday for opting NOT to release the films there!!!
