Ra.One (Hindi) Has Good Extended First Week

Ra.One (Hindi) had a good extended first week collecting 98.50 crore nett approx. The film had a strong weekend and business on Monday and Tuesday was okay as well but on Wednesday the film fell badly. The business on Wednesday was 25% was less than Tuesday which is a huge fall from one day to the next day.



The film has a four day extended weekend in its second week so business on Sunday and Monday will be pretty good but overall the second week will not have a big total.




The advantage for the film was a five day weekend which helped it score at the box office because had it been a three day weekend the film may have done 15-20% less business then it will do now.



Despite falling collections the film has excellent business is some circuits like West Bengal, Mysore and TNK. The regional versions of the film in Tamil and Telugu collected around 6 crore nett over the first nine days.

According to BOI:

Ra.One is still the first choice but collections were a huge 85% down from last Friday numbers. The circuits that were strongest like West Bengal and Mysore have fallen just as heavily as the others.

Ra.One (Hindi) has a little chance of crossing the 121 crore nett business of Ready but it will depend on hoe much its jumps on Saturday and Sunday. A more realistic result seems to be 116-117 crore nett finish but the distributor share may cross Ready.

So, with 2000 more prints and 30% increase in ticket prices, it will end up with almost the same Net collection as Ghajini released in 2009. Forget Dabaang and Bodyguard. And people were talking about Ra One breaking 3I records.. LOL

and it's doing gud business Overseas ..

if we count TOTAL worldwide collection ,it can easily beat BG ...

There are reports of Shahrukh Khan's Ra.One doing well at the box office, but the insiders claim that the movie is still not a hit. However, while talking to the press, Shahrukh Khan said that he and his team have invested Rs 125 crore in the film, and he is happy that his partners could make money. But the inside story seems different! The distributors of 'Ra.One' claim that the superhero flick has grossed over Rs. 170 crore at the BO. But, since 'Ra.One' is made on a humungous budget of Rs. 150 crore, it is not a hit yet. A prominent trade analyst, while talking to a daily said that Eros, the company distributing 'Ra.One', will fail to recover their investment. He further adds, "Ra.One is not at all a success; forget being a hit. Those who have bought the film are going to lose money. The figures have started going down and if this continues, it'll be difficult to match even the Rs. 100 crore figure." The collections of 'Ra.One' witnessed a considerable drop since Monday. The film's collection on Monday was said to be "alarmingly" low. It reportedly made Rs. 92 crore in India until Sunday which includes the Tamil and Telugu versions. The original Hindi version managed a business of Rs. 84 crore. Another trade expert maintained that it can be called a success, but not a hit. Comparing the movie to Salman Khan's recent superhit Bodyguard and Aamir Khan's 2009 blockbuster 3 Idiots is inevitable. But as Bodyguard was made at one-third the price of 'Ra.One', and it didn't even have a 3D version, the amount of money Bodyguard earned on first four days was jaw-dropping. But the same can't be said about 'Ra.One', though it surpassed the first two-day collection of Bodyguard which was about Rs 39 crore. Oh please dont say that. Ra.one is critiicized for the script right? then same goes for some of the other movies in the 100 crore list .But then again the audience still accepted those movies then why so much whining for Ra.one. Script or no script Lets leave it to the audience like we've been doing all this time.
