Q: What happened after 'Jaan Tere Naam'?
A: After the success of 'Jaan Tere Naam', I thought I'd arrived. But things took a down turn. My first marriage was on the rocks and I was practically living out of the suitcase moving from one place to another doing odd assignments. Maybe things happened too fast and too soon for me. I couldn't handle my life and I take all the blame for all the mistakes that were made because I firmly believe that it's your action and your deeds that lead you to a particular situation. But then que sera sera. Whatever is destined to happen will happen. My ex-wife and I decided that the marriage wasn't working out for us and so we decided to part ways. That's my past. I've left my past behind me and I don't think about it much now. So there was a slump of about five and a half years after my initial success.
Q: How did you rise back?
A: Besides doing the odd assignments I was getting, I started a security and protection agency called 'Ace security and protection'. My company provides security and protection to film stars and film units. Gradually my business picked up. And
till today, my company has provided security to many big projects. For instance-'Lagaan' where we had to manage big crowds.
Q: How did your second marriage happen?
A: After my first marriage, my life was pretty simple .It revolved around my work, and my daughter from my first marriage whom I love very much. I had no complaints in life and was moving on pretty smoothly. I then met Neelam Singh who brought love back into my life. I started leaning on Neelam for her love and support. My family members advised me that I should marry her. A year ago, I got married to her and life has been wonderful ever since.
Q: You are practically shooting from dawn to dusk, how do you manage
your career?
A: My wife is my CEO. Neelam was a model and has acted in a few serials. So she knows how the system works. She manages my security business and my finances. So I've got the best CEO who works for me for free.
Q: Which character is closer to your heart, Rishabh Bajaj or Mihir
Virani?
A: It's like choosing between two children. They are like my two hands. But I would choose Rishabh. Rishabh was a dish which I had to prepare from the beginning- buy the vegetables, chop them, cook them, make the dish look and taste good whereas Mihir was a readymade dish served to me on a platter. So Rishabh's character excites me more and is closer to my heart.
Q: Your next project 'Swarth' is already creating a buzz in the
industry. What've you got to say about it?
A: 'Swarth' is again a very interesting and exciting project. It's totally different from what's being aired on channels currently. It
should be on air in a couple of months on Zee TV. Shobha De has written it. My younger brother Rohit is also acting in it. So I'm
pretty excited about it and feel that I'm on the brink of a boom time!!!
