" Moi sodai Asom aru uttar purvanchalar raijor rini hoi thakim" (I'll always remain indebted to the people of Assam and northeast) said an emotional Debojit Saha in chaste Assamese. His flawless Assamese took this correspondent by surprise breaking the general misconception that the emerging star from Silchar cannot converse in Assamese.
However, Debojit who is in verge of creating history by winning the immensely popular musical reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa in Zee TV rued that he is little disappointed after Director edited his Joi Aai Asom (Hail mother Assam) part from his final appeal to the people of Assam to vote for him, " In fact, the anchor of the show Shaan also joined me in my Joi Aai Asom appeal".
When asked about his plan if he succeeds in creating history, prompt comes the reply, " I'm dying to visit my motherland Assam, visit religious places and pay respect to my seniors," adding, " I would like to thank all those organizations including All Assam Students Union (AASU) who has stood beside me in my struggle. Whatever I have achieved it is just because of people of northeast".
The flamboyant lad from Assam who bowled over showman Subhas Ghai with his rendition of rocking number from Hindi film Sathiyaa which subsequently bought him a 10 from his rival mentor Himesh Reshamiyaa in the mentometer pines to wear a Gamocha (Traditional Assamese wear) in the next show, " Our dresses are designed by fashion designer who does not allow anything else to be wore during the show. However, I'm trying to wear a Gamocha in my next show" informed Debojit.
Meanwhile, Debojit mania has engulfed the region with corporate houses putting up billboards and print advertisement motivating people to vote for Debojit and make northeast proud. Regular rallies are organized in different parts of the region with youngsters in bikes and four wheelers appealing to vote for their new hero.
