Part 9
Six years had passed, yet for MM it seemed as if time stood still. The business was not soaring as Chirag and Ahem had hoped for it. Kokila felt it was the fruit of all the injustices done to Gopi.
Kokila rarely spoke, and Hetal tried her level best to bring some laughter in MM which seemed filled with grimness.
It was the departure anniversary of Gopi from MM, and like the other years, Kokila had set up a special puja for the well being of her Gopi vau from whom she had never heard since. Kinjal's family had also been invited to the puja. All the Modi family members except Ahem were present. Kokila never bothered to even inform Ahem about it, as what was the purpose? He never cared for Gopi when she was residing at MM, then why would he give a damn about a puja that was held for her.
After the puja was over, Urmila and Rashi were discussing the latest beauty products.
Rashi: Mummy, there is a new line of natural cosmetics out. It's called Gia Modiana Collection or GMC for short.
Urmila: Achha haan dikra. That chhoti kagdi spent all the money on getting those cosmetics. But sachhi boloon. uss shampoo se mere baal bhi itne soft ho gaye.
Rashi: Haan sahi mein mummy. Your hair is so silky now! I bought a face wash, and it smelt so good.
Urmila: True dikra, you can afford it, but not me. It's just so expensive. Why don't you get me some?
Rashi who looked a little baffled by this sudden outright shameless demand was brought back to reality by Kokila telling her to ensure that the Prasad was distributed amongst every one, and sent to the neighbors as well.
Ahem happened to come home unexpected, as he had left something at home. He was caught by surprise about the puja. Hetal seeing Koki's indifference, informed Ahem about it.
Ahem after eating the Prasad and collecting his files went off for work. While he drove, he remembered how MM used to be like when Gopi was there. He did regret his mistakes, but then his ego would take over, and he would dismiss it. He could not come to terms that he had acted as a brute.
Parag silently witnessed the cold war that had been going on for six years between his wife and son. He called up his lawyer and decided to do something about this for once.
Part 10
The Modi lawyer had come with the suggestion to file for divorce on the basis of Gopi's absence. At first, all the Modi elders except for Koki were against it. She had just given up on Ahem as he had broken her heart so badly.
Ahem just listened to everything with a stone look on his face. He was unable to comprehend what to do. Yes, I do not want that ganwaar, but why is it bothering me so much. Why do I not feel like wanting this.Rashi on the other hand was full of glee, and shared the news as soon as she could with Urmila who also was estatic about it. Kinjal when hearing the news from Urmila just gave her condensing look as Urmila had a hard time to even say divorce properly. Instead she called it "Dieeevurshei".
In the meanwhile, Gopi who had successfully finished her secondary schooling was in London getting trained in cosmetics. She was finishing up her training, and had successfully launched her very own business. Sister Maggie's influence in London helped her catch the eye of noted socialites who catapulted Gopi to new levels of success.Sometimes Gopi would reflect upon her past, and how God made her reach her true potential. She had changed, but from the outside only. She wore green contacts, modern western dresses that were not too short, high heels, makeup, curly locks, spoke English with a British accent and always carried sunglasses with her. However, from the inside, she was still the same devout of Kanha who had a heart of gold. She had learnt many lessons in life, and one of them while she was starting her own business was to never show your true self to the world. The more hidden you keep your true self, the farther you will advance.
Soon the year passed by, and by this time GMC became a luxury household name. Its popularity was parallel to Shahnaz Hussain's line of cosmetics. GMC would be opening its first set of boutiques in six places in India; Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Calcutta, Bangalore, and Rajkot.
Gopi too was ready to come to India after having spent so much time abroad. She grabbed her prada purse took Sister Maggie's hand, and smiled at Sumit Bhaiya before she went off to board her flight.
Meanwhile at MM, everyone was discussing the issue of the divorce papers. Right then there was a strong gush of wind while knocked the divorce papers from the table to near the Modi's temple area. Suddenly a loud cry was heard at the door: Alaakh Niranjan.
